Chapter 191: Chapter 191- Cunning Old man

Maybe if Grey were here, he would have chased the woman down until she was killed. But he was currently in Green City. His eyes were cold, and his expression was unreadable as he walked slowly toward the city.

Although the fight had lasted for quite some time, the two of them had been battling high up in the sky, so not many people were able to see them. However, if one’s perception was strong enough, they would still be able to sense that an intense battle had taken place in the skies above the city.

Unfortunately, there was no one else in the city who had reached the Foundation Establishment Realm like the young woman. The Nine Colored Sect had only sent a single Foundation Establishment Realm expert to watch over the city; they had not sent a second one.

That was also the reason Grey had been bold enough to fight the woman even after she announced the sect she came from. Previously, Grey had scanned the entire city and its surrounding areas with his divine sense, yet he had not been able to find any aura that carried even the slightest hint of Foundation Establishment Realm power.

This was what led him to confront the young woman with complete confidence, knowing full well that he would emerge victorious.

"Now that I’ve gotten rid of the Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator in the city, it’s time... for me to kill the old man I marked with my perception while I was still in the underground tunnels," Grey murmured softly.

Despite his calm temperament and composed disposition, Grey had actually been injured during the fight with the woman. At this moment, he was suffering from internal injuries that were slowly but steadily worsening.

That was why, after walking for a short while, he suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood. His face turned even paler than before, yet a decisive resolve flashed through his eyes.

That resolve did not make Grey retreat after nearly killing the woman.

Instead, it strengthened his desire to kill the old man he had marked long ago, even while injured.

With that resolve firm in his heart, Grey gritted his teeth, and his body vanished. When he reappeared, he was already on the ground.

Grey had appeared in the middle of the city, yet strangely, no one could see him. Many cultivators and ordinary people walked past him as if he did not exist at all. In fact, when anyone came too close, it was as if an invisible force gently pushed them away, preventing them from colliding with Grey.

That force was extremely mysterious and could not be described with ordinary words. No one felt anything unusual. Instead, they would simply feel as though something coincidental had occurred to stop them from bumping into him.

Some would misstep and trip over a stone at the last moment. Others would have the hem of their clothes catch on dust or debris, forcing them to tilt to the side. Although none of this sounded like mere coincidence, this was exactly what was happening.

When Grey landed, he naturally noticed all of this. He knew it was caused by the power he had gained after breaking through to the Foundation Establishment Realm, a level of strength that could not be compared to the Qi Accumulation Realm.

Even cultivators would fail to sense this subtle manipulation and would unconsciously move along with it. As for ordinary people, they were completely oblivious.

This was the power of the world that Grey had gained after his breakthrough. Although he had only comprehended a small fraction of it, that fragment alone was profound enough to allow him to perform feats like this with ease.

In the blink of an eye, Grey disappeared and reappeared several thousand feet away. His expression did not change, and his terrifying speed did not stir up strong winds or clouds of dust. It was almost as if Grey were nothing more than a wandering ghost.

The moment Grey appeared, the old man who had been disguised as a drunkard suddenly jolted upright from his lying position, disbelief written clearly across his face. His complexion, already flushed from excessive drinking, turned an even deeper shade of red. Shock and fear surged violently in his heart.

That was because Grey had appeared directly in front of the inn where the old man was staying.

The instant Grey arrived, without even causing the slightest disturbance in the air, the old man felt an overwhelming sense of life-and-death danger descend upon him like a suffocating weight.

That intense crisis forced his eyes and mouth wide open in shock, fear, and disbelief.

"B-but... I thought he was dead! Wh-why the hell is he still chasing me?" the old man stammered, cold sweat streaming down the sides of his face.

Immediately after saying that, the old man took something out of his storage bag. It was a small ice crystal.

The moment the ice crystal appeared, a terrifying cold aura abruptly enveloped the room. Frost spread rapidly through the air, and even the old man was clearly affected as thin layers of ice began forming over his body. His movements stiffened slightly, his breath turning shallow.

However, a sharp glint flashed through his eyes. He slowly exhaled. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

What came out of his mouth was a thick stream of cold, white mist. The moment the mist was released, it wrapped around his body, and the freezing sensation instantly weakened. The ice covering him cracked apart and melted away, and warmth gradually returned to his limbs.

Outside the inn, Grey suddenly scrunched his face into a small frown.

He could not tell exactly what was happening inside the room where the old man was staying, but he could faintly sense the strange cold aura seeping out from within. It was fleeting, yet distinct enough to catch his attention.

Grey moved.

His body passed through the walls as if they did not exist, and he appeared inside the old man’s room. However, what greeted him was not the figure he expected.

The room was empty.

Only a lingering cold aura remained, swirling quietly in the air.

Grey’s expression remained aloof as he took another step forward.

When he appeared again, his gaze locked onto the old man’s figure in the distance, sprinting toward the city’s exit. Wisps of cold energy continuously leaked from the old man’s body, subtly lowering the surrounding temperature wherever he passed.

Grey said nothing.

Yet, his impression of the old man continued to rise.

This was not the first time the old man had managed to sense his presence and evade him ahead of time. To do so without Grey revealing even the slightest hint of his descent was no small feat.

That alone was enough for Grey to silently praise him, and to grow even more wary.

After all, Grey had not exposed himself in the slightest.

"But I..." Grey muttered softly, his lips curling faintly,

"...would like to see how long you can continue to avoid me."

His eyes narrowed, a sharp, murderous glint flashing within them as his figure slowly vanished once more.
