Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection-Chapter 222: Plant
Anthony quickly drew his sword, darkness flowing from his body like water and spreading across the ground. Activating his senses to the maximum, he sensed multiple presences running towards them. They were in a relatively open area where moans, roars, and panting could be heard. The ground trembled under their feet, indicating that danger was approaching dangerously close.
Glancing sideways at the two girls, he noticed that Estefany was visibly nervous, fear in her eyes. On the other hand, Perséfone seemed to maintain composure. Suddenly, a horrifying face emerged from the bushes: it had seven eyes and a mouth full of teeth, displaying a sinister grin. More and more creatures began to appear, although they kept their distance, watching them.
Anthony’s expression turned grim as he realized there were at least five hundred creatures, all of Maximum-Gold rank. The seven-eyed creature slowly emerged from the bush and, in an instant, lunged towards them like a beast. "Stay behind!" shouted Anthony, aware that he could not allow the girls to die at that moment. His plans would crumble if that happened; he needed them alive.

They couldn’t afford to die now.
Gritting his teeth, multiple creatures emerged from all directions as their eyes turned black and a great explosion of mana resonated in the forest, accompanied by harrowing roars.
Anthony wielded his sword, remaining alert in all directions. For every creature he eliminated, it seemed like two more emerged in its place. With a horizontal swing, he managed to cut three creatures in half, releasing more mana in the process. The ground darkened and expanded as corpses piled around him like a mountain.
With cold eyes, he watched as black tentacles emerged from the ground, crushing the remaining creatures frantically in all directions.
Despite his efforts, the creatures seemed endless. Minutes turned into hours, and Perséfone cast green magic balls that revived the dead creatures to fight on her side. Her magic was forbidden by the church, as it could bring the dead from the afterlife to fight for her.
Estefany also joined the fight, using her summoning magic. It was as unique as Perséfone’s magic. Placing her hands on the ground and uttering a few words, a five-meter-tall polar bear emerged before them. However, Estefany seemed exhausted and pale, indicating she was reaching her limit. The bear, whose soul was bound to Estefany’s, was powerful but dangerous at the same time.
Despite its strength, the bear could not die, as the death of the bear would mean the fracture of Estefany’s soul into two. Anthony understood the gravity of the situation and surrounded the bear with his aura to increase its destructive power. Although exhausted, they continued to fight, leveraging the bear’s help to face the relentless hordes of creatures surrounding them.
That’s why Estefany was always very cautious when it came to a fight, and if she could, she wouldn’t summon her bear at all.
As the hours passed, the creatures finally seemed to come to an end. The smell of blood was palpable in the air as Anthony wielded his sword skillfully, cutting off the heads of the last creatures that lunged at him. A sigh of relief escaped his lips when the fight finally ceased, but his body was exhausted and sore from the effort.
With fatigue, he collapsed to the ground, activating his senses to ensure there were no creatures lurking in the shadows. Looking at himself, he frowned at the pungent smell of blood and sweat that permeated his skin and clothes. He observed Perséfone, whose expression was even paler than his own, almost as if she were dead inside.

The huge bear, bloodied and with creature entrails still clinging to its claws, slowly approached Estefany and dropped its body in front of her. It emitted a growl as Estefany, with a pale yet serene expression, began to stroke the bear’s head. It closed its eyes and disappeared into thin air, releasing particles of light that seemed to merge with Estefany’s body.
"We managed to survive," Perséfone murmured weakly as she watched the pile of bodies beside them. Suddenly, a creature emerged from the pile, but Anthony quickly eliminated it with a flick of his hand. He nodded at Perséfone’s words, but his attention was drawn to another presence.
Turning his head, he frowned at seeing the plant approaching with total indifference. The plant passed by the corpses, looking at them without any emotion. Then, it approached Estefany and offered her a fruit, which she clumsily took and thanked for. It repeated the gesture with Perséfone before continuing on its way without further ado.
It glanced at Anthony over its shoulder and commented, "Very strong," before continuing on its way. Then, the plant approached the corpses and extracted a small crystal from inside them, which it consumed with total indifference. Anthony observed the scene with amusement, comparing the plant to the protagonists of cultivation stories.
After Estefany and Perséfone ate the fruits, their expressions improved, and their mana reserves increased. Anthony suspected that the fruits were magical and contained healing properties. He watched as the plant continued to extract crystals from the creature bodies and consumed them without showing any emotion.
Upon realizing that the crystals contained only a minimal amount of mana, Anthony shrugged and decided to leave the plant alone with its activities. After a few moments, he noticed something emerging from his sea of soul, and he was surprised to see that it was the fairy. The tiny creature came out of his chest, its black eyes shining brightly. In its hands, it held a small black apple.
With enthusiasm, the fairy flew towards the plant, which initially observed it with indifference. However, it then opened its eyes and stopped what it was doing. It approached the little fairy, and the two stared at each other intently.
With a smile, the little fairy extended the black apple towards the plant. The plant, using its vines, took the apple and nodded. After a moment, it also produced a fruit and handed it to the tiny fairy. The fairy chuckled softly, then waved her hands, and specks of black light emerged, surrounding the plant. It closed its eyes, and Anthony watched as its petals turned black.
