Villain's Survival: SSS Class Infinite Copy Eyes-Chapter 40. Crimson Frenzy (2)
Chapter 40: 40. Crimson Frenzy (2)
The counter ticked slowly upward Licht’s Infinite Eyes began their work.
But Riven wasn’t the kind to stand still and let himself be copied and rushed forward
『Blood Mana Style – Crimson Frenzy (A)』
And neither was Licht.
『Valemont Sword technique – Rushing Thunder God!』
With a storm of lightning howling through the air, Licht’s eyes narrowed as his sword showed no mercy and whistling straight toward Riven’s neck.
Despite seeing such a vicious blade hurtling toward him, Riven didn’t flinch.
He had no weapon of his own, but this was only because he simply didn’t need one.
A bloody flash of light ignited in Riven’s eyes, his blood-tainted mana surged through his body, before concentrating in his arms as the muscles inside tightened, causing his skin to shift unnaturally.
『Blood Mana Style – Ironblood Frame!』
Riven didn’t dodge.
Instead, he raised the back of his hand and slapped the blade aside as though it were an annoying fly.
Clang!
There was a strange, dull ring as steel met flesh, causing a gash to open across the back of Riven’s hand as red blood slid down his knuckles.
A Sight that would have caused another to panic only made Riven only laugh as his tongue licked his own blood in delight.
Riven roared forward, swinging a hooked punch aimed straight for Licht’s skull.
Licht’s infinite eyes quickly grasped his Riven’s movements allowing him to barely raise his arms in time.
Bang!
Although Licht blocked the attack, the impact sent him skidding across the ground.
"Tch! This damn weak body again..."
Licht’s face turned ugly.
His arms wouldn’t stop shaking. The bones beneath the skin felt like they were about to snap.
But then it hit him
"Wait..."
Licht’s eyes widened, scanning Riven’s frame.
"This kid... this scrawny bastard... His body’s weaker than mine, so how the hell.."
Then Licht saw it.
His eyes narrowed as his Infinite Eyes focused, tracing the flows of energy within Riven’s body.
The boy’s mana and vitality weren’t flowing normally.
Like a furnace. No, like a bonfire, consuming everything within, empowering every nerve, every fibre of his flesh. It was self-destructive, suicidal and.... beautiful.
Licht’s lips parted.
And before he could stop himself. A dark and ravenous smile crept across his face.
"I want it... I want it so bad.’
Something old and hungry stirred inside him.
A curse inherited from his bloodline, the Valtier’s Greed.
The hunger for power. The inability to resist the allure of strength once glimpsed.
Now that Licht Valtier had seen it.
He couldn’t look away.
Licht stepped forward, causing Riven to rush at him again, allowing his bloody mana to gather around his fingers until his hands resembled a monster’s dark crimson claws.
He laughed as he threw himself into another clash with Licht again and again, their strikes echoing through the air.
Steel met blood.
Lightning met madness.
The two danced through the air, bouncing off walls, vaulting across shattered walls, and colliding in midair. It was a spectacle of blood and lightning, fast enough to blur the eyes of anyone watching.
But although Licht felt like he was dominating the something was off.
Riven kept clashing directly into Licht’s blade—recklessly, repeatedly—without dodging, without shielding.
It felt... intentional.
Licht’s mind reeled.
"Why isn’t he dodging?"
Then he heard it.
Crack.
It was a faint but unmistakable sound. So when Licht glanced down at his sword mid-attack, his heart dropped.
A small fracture had appeared on his blade.
His sword was nothing special. It was just a standard-issue mass-produced training weapon.
He’d taken it without thinking, assuming it would be enough to handle anything
But now, after less than a dozen exchanges with Riven, it was starting to break.
Anything mass-produced would inevitably have a few substandard products
It was a lucky break for Riven
No...
The more Licht thought, the more he realised something was wrong
This was no accident; Riven had done this on purpose.
Each of those bloody-handed parries contained calculated attrition.
From the moment they had first clashed, Riven had sensed his sword’s weakness and was constantly wearing down the weapon.
Licht’s blood went cold. Just thinking about it was unnerving.
How could someone so deep into madness fight with such technique and precision?
’No, this can’t go on.’ thought Licht
’I must end this fight before my sword breaks and that monster can truly run wild’
With Licht’s strengthened resolve, the battle soon entered a new white hot stage as the fight entered a new building. They surged upward, floor by floor, smashing through staircases and crashing through corridors like a storm with no eye until,
BOOM!
Glass, stone, and wood rained down as two blurs burst into the open air.
Both Lightning and blood glimmered with a mysterious brilliance beneath the setting sun.
Riven landed on the roof first, blood mist coiling around him like a second skin. His bare hands, slick with a mix of blood and pulsing red mana, gleamed under the sun, looking less like human limbs and more like a demon’s set of claws.
Licht followed soon after, crashing down from the sky like a thunderbolt. His sword buzzed in his hands, crackling with energy, but the cracks within it had spread further, causing the steel to now be spiderwebbed with fractures.
’Two more exchanges. Maybe even four.’ Thought Licht
’After that, the sword would be completely done for’
Licht took a deep breath, and then the two fighters stared at each other.
They were monsters in human skin—
Riven smiled.
Licht grinned back, and then they charged.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Strike after strike rang across the rooftop. Knowing his blade was wearing away, Licht fought with ferocity, causing blood to splatter across the floor. Each blow was heavy as neither Licht nor Riven considered defending, only attacking.
Riven ducked a strike and drove a clawed hand toward Licht’s ribs, but then,
Blocked.
Licht covered his hand in mana and clashed with Riven’s claws, and using the moment generated from the block, Licht spun, his sword hissing with blue lightning as it sliced across Riven’s chest.
Ssschrrkk!
Blood sprayed from the deep wound, but Riven only laughed and flicked out his tongue to taste his own blood again.
"So sweet...~"
