Villain's Survival: SSS Class Infinite Copy Eyes-Chapter 31. Memories
Chapter 31: 31. Memories
A short while later, Licht stood alone
He was no longer in the dark and cold atmosphere of the outside world but instead the warm lit space of his room.
His room was lavish. It was pristinely decorated with excessively ornate furniture looked more like a five-star suite than a dormitory.
As the academy’s top-ranked cadet, everything given to him was top class. Private bath, magic-enhanced climate control, luxury furniture...
It should’ve felt like heaven. freeweɓnøvel~com
But it didn’t, Instead Licht had just one thought
’Disgusting’
After the unsettling experience and actions he had to perform just several minutes earlier, Everything about the treatment this body received reeked of disgusting hypocrisy.
He stood here surrounded by comfort and luxuries he could only dream on earth, but with the luxuries he lost true freedom. His own body felt like a cage. In a sense, all this high end treatment was no different to getting a first course meal in prison.
But if it was just the annoying consequences of not being able to completely control his body, Licht wouldn’t have been too bothered and managed to endure.
No, what truly set him off about the situation in Licht’s body was not how his behaved but instead It was the memories.
They just wouldn’t stop.
He wasn’t sure if it was from his angered state after being manipulated by the system, or if that Charlotte had actually managed to curse him in her overwhelming rage—but for some strange reason, Licht’s old memories kept surfacing!
And these memories were not just some useless scattered fragments but entire set of vivid Scenes.
It was the old Licht, the real Licht and a catalogue of everything he had done.
See, Normally, Licht’s memories were like books neatly arranged bookshelf. They could be taken out and easily accessed when relevant information is neeeded
But now?
Now They flooded back with no warning or control.
And they were vile.
—bleghh—!
Licht’s body lurched forward as bile splattered violently into the sink. Acid burned his throat, and yet the memories didn’t stop.
He finally understood why Licht’s body had only offered him a general overview of his memories an why the important memories only returned in key moments
It wasn’t that Licht had forgotten his memories, no it was a defence mechanism.
If Licht had seen these scenes when he first entered Licht’s body. He would have gone mad.
Human Experimentation.
That statement alone was nought to prove just how depraved the previous Licht’s actions were.
Licht had played the game.
He’d defeated—and killed—the character he now inhabited many times.
So he already knew about Licht’s dark past and the atrocities he commited, but reading a few lines of script in a game and experiencing the memories firsthand...
They were two entirely different worlds.
The scene burned into his mind. living human bodies herded like cattle. Each one hooked to machines with strange devices and tubes piercing their skin, while their despair-filled eyes gazed back at him.
In a strange, almost cruel way, he could understand now why it felt like the world itself refused to let him inhabit this body and live a normal life.
It’s like the world was laughing at him.
Heroine?
Hah! What does that have to do with you?
You’re not a hero. You’re not even the protagonist.
Know your role.
Know your sins.
You’re the villain now.
Licht looked up into the bathroom mirror, his pale, handsome reflection staring back at him with an eerie stillness that made his skin crawl.
For a while, he simply stood there, eyes locked with his own, as if searching for something buried deep behind the glass.
But even as Licht look nothing changed and Eventually, licht grew tired turn away, intending to leave the mirror and its strange pull behind him.
But just as he moved, a flicker caught the edge of his vision.
For a miniscule moment, His reflection—his own face—tilted ever so slightly. The change just a fraction, almost too subtle to notice.
But just as Licht was thinking he had finally gone mad, his reflection in the mirror flickered again and smiled
Not just any smile.
It was a sad Mocking smile
As if it pitied him.
-BANG!
Licht’s fist slammed into the mirror with a sharp, thunderous crash that echoed through the bathroom, splintering his reflection into dozens of fractured pieces.
As the shards rained down on the floor with a melodic patter, Licht felt blood slowly trickle down from his knuckles.
Enough.
Panting, Licht stared at the broken remains of the mirror, his chest rising and falling as he tried to steady his racing breath and calm down.
"This sudden influx of new memories is unhealthy," he muttered under his breath. "I’m already starting to hallucinate..."
As he said this Licht reached for a nearby towel and pressed it against his bleeding fist. The once-white fabric soaked up the blood quickly, staining into a deep crimson.
"I don’t have time for this nonsense," he said flatly, his voice low.
"Lectures start early tomorrow."
With that, Licht turned and exited the bathroom, too tired and too shaken to even think about cleaning up the shattered glass or the mess he’d left behind.
Licht didn’t notice it yet, but as he walked away, His reflection still remained on the broken pieces of mirror left scattered across the floor...
Each one still watching
still smiling
still waiting....
....
The Next Day
Licht woke up still groggy and tired.
So much had happened in such a short time that he was struggling to accept that only a single day had passed.
Licht stepped into the shower, doing his best to ignore the shattered glass still scattered around the broken mirror.
The damage from Licht’s outburst yesterday was laid clear on floor but Licht didn’t have the energy to deal with it just yet.
Once he had completed his shower Licht’s started his first challenge of the day, getting dressed
