Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 39: The Confidence of the Cheap Sister
Thea Shaw noticed Chloe Shaw’s appearance at first glance.
Fortunately, despite a few ups and downs, they weren’t major, and her prospects seemed stable and modestly prosperous.
After thinking for a moment, she said, "Why wait? How about tomorrow noon?"
Chloe Shaw: "..."
Only then did she seriously take a look at Thea Shaw, suddenly letting out a chuckle, "Are your real parents treating you well?"
Chloe Shaw didn’t feel much about the matter of her adopted sister returning to her roots; it wasn’t much of her concern.
"Pretty good."
Thea Shaw said, "But you are my sister."
She had been raised by Mrs. Blair for twenty years, so how could she distance herself from her adoptive family because of her biological mother?
Chloe Shaw paused for a moment. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
She couldn’t say if she liked or disliked this sister. After all, when she was taken in, she was already in middle school and now has entered the workforce. The two sisters weren’t very close.
In their rare interactions, she could tell that Thea Shaw wasn’t someone unfeeling or indifferent.
Previously, when Mrs. Blair had an accident, Chloe Shaw was stuck at work and under a lot of pressure, unable to go back. This sister took time off from her studies to care for their mother, which honestly surprised her.
In a way, she made sacrifices that Chloe Shaw as the biological daughter wasn’t able to make.
Thinking of this, Chloe Shaw nodded, "Alright, tomorrow noon then. I’ll meet you after work, but we’ll need to find a place to eat near my company as I don’t have much time, okay?"
"Okay."
Chloe was somewhat surprised by her change in demeanor but didn’t think too deeply. She just asked a couple of caring questions, "Now, go home and have your parents arrange your studies."
As she said this, something suddenly crossed her mind, and she added, "What you deserve, be sure to fight for it, don’t feel pressured, it was originally yours anyway."
She was aware there was a mix-up with the Sutton Family’s eldest daughter.
Thea Shaw gave a faint smile, "I know."
After pondering for a moment, she suddenly asked, "Sis, are you planning to buy a house in Aethelgard?"
Chloe was stunned for a moment, then said, "Did Mom tell you that?"
Chloe had mentioned it earlier, but it was just in passing. They were from a rural place, and because of work, Chloe surely couldn’t return often. She had once said she wanted to buy a house in Aethelgard, but considering Aethelgard’s housing prices, with her current salary, it would take decades of living on nothing to afford a down payment for a decent place.
Moreover, the family still needed to manage Mrs. Blair’s long-term health care, so even if Chloe wanted to, there wasn’t much she could do.
"I think it’s a good idea."
Before her rebirth, Thea Shaw wouldn’t have considered it, but after, she thought a lot more.
"Now that we’re both in Aethelgard and can’t go back frequently, why not buy a house and bring our parents here to live?"
Back in the rural area, their adoptive parents didn’t have many relatives either, moving to Aethelgard could keep them alongside Chloe Shaw.
Thea Shaw could see that Chloe Shaw’s work pressure was likely high.
Chloe glanced at Thea, "Do you know the housing prices in Aethelgard?"
"I know, don’t worry, I’m not asking my real parents for money. I’ll earn it myself, we can buy it together."
Hadn’t she already earned her first bucket of gold?
Chloe didn’t believe Thea had the ability to make money herself. Since she had just returned to the Sutton Family, apart from asking her Sutton parents, what other way was there?
But not wanting to dampen her adopted sister’s confidence, Chloe said, "Alright, we’ll talk when you’ve earned the money."
With that, she prepared to leave, "Head home early, I need to get going too."
As she said that, she left the place.
