Village Doctor's Women-Chapter 222 - 216 is for two people together
Actually, Wang Jian wasn’t thinking straight asking so bluntly, but he couldn’t be bothered with that anymore. What was more important now was figuring out what exactly had happened last night.
"Last night?"
On the other end of the phone, Li Liping was home alone, but she still glanced furtively at the door after reading Wang Jian’s question. Seeing no one had returned, she continued, "Yes, last night. I took you back to your room, went home for a bit to get Zhang Li settled, and then came back for you."
A faint, knowing smile graced Li Liping’s lips as she recalled the previous night. "You," she said, "you really are a restless sleeper."
Wang Jian rolled his eyes and asked, "Did you take a shower when you went home?"
"No," Li Liping replied, quickly adding another message, "Oh, I know. You’re talking about Qianqian."
So that was it...
Seeing Li Liping’s message, Wang Jian realized his memory was a complete mess. What I can confirm now is that yesterday’s dream was real; I just misremembered who was there, and the specific details were probably wrong, too. Liping’s account is so different from my own impression, which means I can only rely on her to learn the truth.
Wang Jian resigned himself to his fate, waiting patiently for Li Liping to recount the events of last night.
Li Liping had no intention of holding back. She was keen to tell Wang Jian about Xu Qian, so she typed directly, "I had just come back to find you when Qianqian came in, soaking wet as if she’d just showered. I don’t think she was very sober, though. When she saw you and me... doing *that*, she didn’t say a thing. She just plopped down next to us and fell asleep.
"You have no idea how much she startled me when she opened the door... My heart jumped into my throat. If I were a man, I probably would have gone limp. And even though I’m a woman, the shock still scared all the feeling out of me."
This was no exaggeration. Having snuck into Wang Jian’s room, the sight of Xu Qian had been far more heart-pounding than she was letting on. Only now that it was in the past could she speak of it with a laugh.
"But I could see something was off about her. Like you, she’d had too much to drink, and her whole face was a mask of confusion. I was right in front of her, but it was like she couldn’t even see me. She just stood there, giggling foolishly.
"Before I could react, she had already lain down, pressing close to us. Her body felt both cold and warm at the same time.
"Later, she draped herself all over you... and you should know, she wasn’t wearing a single thing..."
Hearing this, I finally understand what happened last night. So it wasn’t just Li Liping; it was her and Xu Qian together. Something so impossible actually happened, yet I can’t remember a thing, can’t even feel that it occurred. If Liping hadn’t been willing to tell me, would I have ever found out? On top of that, when I left this morning, Xu Qian acted as if nothing was wrong. How could I possibly have guessed that so much had gone on?
Wang Jian didn’t know how to describe his feelings. It’s... complicated beyond words.
"Later..." Wang Jian said, rubbing his temples. He was starting to piece the puzzle together and just needed a few more details from Li Liping. "So... we all just slept together?"
"Yeah," Li Liping sent a laughing emoji before continuing without waiting for a reply. "You got lucky. What a blessing, enjoying the company of two women at once."
"So, how did it feel?" Li Liping asked teasingly.
Wang Jian sent back a frantically sweating emoji. "I’d like to know the answer to that myself."
Seeing the message, Li Liping laughed out loud but quickly stifled her laughter. She shot a guilty look at the door and, seeing no one was there, turned back to her phone and sent a voice message. "HAHAHA. Speaking of which, that reminds me of something. I don’t know what you’re made of. You were blackout drunk, but your body was still reacting. Whenever Lao Zhang drinks too much, he’s like a dead pig; you can’t even wake him up. I’ve read online that normal people don’t have any reaction when they’re drunk... all that stuff about drunken debauchery is just nonsense from TV dramas."
"Maybe I’m just in good shape."
I can’t very well tell her it’s because I was dreaming and those things were happening in my dream... so of course I’d have a reaction.
But now Wang Jian was more concerned about another question. "And my sister-in-law... did she wake up later?"
Li Liping’s lips curled into a smirk. "Guess?" she typed deliberately. "What do you think?"
Wang Jian now understood one thing clearly: Li Liping was deliberately messing with him.
"If I could guess, I wouldn’t be asking you." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
After he sent that, Li Liping didn’t reply for a long time. Wang Jian grew anxious and sent several more stickers. After waiting for more than ten minutes, a new message from her finally arrived.
"Lao Zhang is back. Talk later. Bye."
Wang Jian rolled his eyes. He tried sending more messages, but Li Liping was truly gone. No matter what he sent, she didn’t reply, leaving him with no other options.
After putting down his phone, Wang Jian lost all desire to continue working. Since there were no patients in the clinic at the moment, he shouted to Chairman Kang, "I’m taking off! The clinic is all yours."
"Sure."
After his first experience running the clinic, Chairman Kang wasn’t nervous at all; in fact, he seemed a little eager. Hearing Wang Jian say he was leaving early, he agreed without hesitation.
"Don’t just be excited," Wang Jian warned. "If you run into a problem you can’t solve, don’t try to force it, understand?"
Wang Jian could read Chairman Kang’s mood like a book. He had gone through a similar mental process when he first started treating patients. As someone who had been there, he knew this kind of mentality could easily lead to complacency. In other professions, that might not be a huge mistake; you could always walk it back. But being a doctor was different. One mistake could be fatal, and the weight of a human life wasn’t something they could bear.
Chairman Kang also knew the gravity of the situation. His family had taught him these principles long ago, and Wang Jian wasn’t the first to say so. He didn’t dare be careless. "I understand."
"Alright then, I’m off."
With that, Wang Jian headed straight home. He didn’t have the guts to confront Xu Qian directly, but he could certainly try to fish for information indirectly.
He had thought Li Liping’s personality had changed, but it turned out she was the same mischievous woman as before. Now she’d left him completely hanging, and if he couldn’t figure out what had really happened, he was filled with an unbearable itch of curiosity.
Wang Jian ran all the way home. Just as he was about to slow down near his door, he crashed right into Yang Rong, the widow from next door.
She hadn’t gone to the village committee office today and was dressed simply at home in a white T-shirt and shorts, carrying a basin of water outside.
When they collided, the entire basin of water overturned, drenching them both. If Wang Jian hadn’t reacted quickly, Yang Rong would have been sent flying. Even so, she was soaked to the bone, and Wang Jian was in no better shape.
The commotion drew the gazes of some people cooling off nearby, who looked on with the expressions of people watching a play unfold.
But Yang Rong couldn’t care less what the village elders thought of her. When she was first hit, her initial reaction was to start cursing. But after getting a clear look at the person holding her, her expression shifted. A smile lifted the corners of her mouth, her brow smoothed, and she began to chuckle softly.
I’m not sure if it’s my imagination, but it feels as if she did that on purpose. The moment I caught her, she went completely limp in my arms, as if she’d suddenly lost all her strength and bones.
Wang Jian’s expression immediately darkened. He knew Yang Rong had a good figure—voluptuous, with curves in all the right places. Although she was a widow, she wasn’t old; she was at that perfectly alluring age. It was no wonder Liu Zi and his friends were always running over to her place and helping her out.
But even with all that, I’m not interested.
So, he didn’t make a big deal of it, intending to gently push her away to avoid further physical contact.
He never expected that while he wanted nothing more to do with this, Yang Rong felt differently.
Ever since Wang Jian’s clinic had become popular, Yang Rong had started paying attention to him.
She was especially influenced by always being around Li Dayu and constantly hearing him talk about Wang Jian’s accomplishments. In Yang Rong’s mind, Wang Jian had long since become a prosperous tree, a perfect opportunity for her to climb the social ladder.
What made Yang Rong’s heart flutter even more was that Wang Jian was single.
He’s practically the legendary diamond bachelor...
If she hadn’t lacked the opportunity to strike up a conversation with him before, she would have made her move long ago.
This collision was a godsend. If Yang Rong let it pass, she wouldn’t be Yang Rong.
"Xiao Jian," she cooed, her hand never leaving Wang Jian’s arm as she clung to him like an ornament, "since you’ve been back, I haven’t had a proper chance to talk to you. Since we’ve had such a rare encounter today, why don’t you come over to my place for a bit?"
