Vile Evil Hides Under The Veil-Chapter 1996: Reverence Caused by the Act of Resurrection
The crowd below began to murmur in shock and fear as they watched Eren's ever-prosperous domain of death at work.
Some mortals covered their mouths. Some fell back. Others clung to their neighbors.
The sight of the dead rising in new, stronger forms was not something they could easily process.
The demon army, however, cheered.
They got on one knee, slamming their fists into the ground in salute. They knew what this meant. Their lord had shown another layer of his terrifying strength.
The hesitation in the eyes of God Raashim's former followers began to fade.
The fear remained. But fear mixed with awe. The final wall of resistance broke down.
Eren looked at the crowd again, smiling as the undead creatures finished rising and formed lines like an army of silent sentinels.
The moment the last batch of undead finished rising from the battlefield, a heavy silence spread across the crowd consisting of mortals and low-level mana practitioners gathered at the base of the altar.
Then… one person fell to their knees.

Then another.
And another.
Within moments, almost the entire crowd had dropped down, heads bowed and backs hunched.
None of them were forced. They weren't compelled. They simply knelt because they couldn't deny what they had seen.
A god was killed. The dead had been brought back in forms stronger than before.
An SS-Rank monster was born and named as a protector.
They were not witnessing a new rule. They were witnessing a new era of Labh Salem's seas.
Of course, there were a few exceptions. These exceptions looked at each other, their breaths shallow. They then looked at Eren who simply gestured to them to leave.
Then, some nodded in silent thanks, turned, and began to leave. Eren didn't even glance their way again.
Instead, he looked ahead.
"Like I said, I now declare this land is no longer the Baga Island," Eren said, his voice carrying over the quiet crowd like a commandment. "From this day forward, it shall be known as White Raven Island."
There was no cheer. Only a deeper silence.
"This island will serve as the heart of the Labh Salem's seas. With this island at the center, we will divide the seas into four regions.
Firstly, the one who will be in charge of the western region is Marina."
Marina stepped forward, calm and composed. Her presence was like the silent waves that could capsize ships without warning.
The crowd acknowledged her with subtle nods and bowed heads. She was a true dragoness and almost everyone in the crowd knew who she was.
Marina had always acted like a somewhat neutral ally of Raashim Temple. But this was her first time taking control of such a vast region on her own. She was happy and her draconic instincts to rule were soothed.
Eren turned and looked at previously unwilling dragoness and smiled lighty.
"The eastern seas will be led by Azurea," he said.
Azurea smirked, stepping beside her sister with pride and fire in her stride.
Although the feisty dragoness wasn't happy at first about being forced to join Eren's side, all her dissatisfaction vanished the moment she saw him kill a god.
Her draconic instincts made her acknowledge and respect someone capable of wielding such absurd power.
At first, Azurea had thought Eren was bluffing when he claimed he would slaughter any dragonkin who dared to oppose him—including her father and grandfather. But after witnessing a Godfall, she no longer dared to take his words lightly.
That said, Azurea didn't want Eren and her father to clash. After seeing what Eren was capable of, she hoped to turn him into an ally of her family.
Of course, there were still many complicated issues that needed to be resolved between Eren and her Calamity-Rank dragon father. But that was something to deal with when her father eventually arrived.
For now, Azurea knew she needed to cooperate with Eren, build her own fame, and raise her status. That way, she could gather more resources and accelerate her ranking journey.
And on that note, Eren had promised her a certain degree of autonomy in ruling the eastern region. That alone was enough to win her full cooperation.
"The northern region will be watched over by Naya," Eren added, as Naya raised her staff slightly and nodded without a word.
"And the southern seas shall be under the command of Roza Thaglas."
Roza didn't say anything either. But her stance was firm and unshakable.
"As for White Raven Island," Eren said with a faint smile, "En, my brother, will act as its guardian. He will stay nearby at all times and be our deterrent against unwanted trouble."
The crowd stirred. Some still found it hard to believe that the SS-Rank sea monster and a demigod now acted as their protector. This type of might and influence was absent even during the peak of Raashim Temple's might.
Of course, even though En was supposed to stay on the White Raven Island, he couldn't control the regions on his own using his intellect. As such, the butcher needed someone else to act as the de facto leader in his absence.
"Of course, as a deterrent, En won't handle the finances, strategy or any form of administrative work," Eren said with a grin. "Those will be managed by Thalisa."
From the sea's edge, Thalisa looked at the crowd with her neutral gaze, her beauty shining like the moon on calm water. As an Immortal Artifact Spirit of an Elder Seed Artifact, she was completely loyal to Eren.
She could still work with En in order to neutralize the threats. However, her true loyalty lied with Eren.
"The Demon Earls will support the leaders of each region," Eren said, continuing.
"Furfur will assist Marina in the west."
"Malthus will support Azurea in the east."
"Raum will work alongside Naya in the north."
"And Bifrons will be with Roza in the south."
Each Demon Earl stepped forward as they were named.
The demon leaders had decided not to stay in obscurity anymore.
Instead of staying hidden in the Shadowed Grove like little rats, it was much more exciting and fulfilling to follow the Young Demon Emperor.
