Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL]-Chapter 460: A New Dawn Has Come
[KAWAI]
Zaffuto and Sadako had been mesmerized by their kids.
Honestly, as they watched it all unfurl, they didn’t think much of it because their focus was on Yilena.
They knew Yilena so well that they also understood how her mind worked. This was clearly a disobedience of the oath she’d forced on them, and if it was anything to go by, the brothers knew that Yilena would try to do something.
So, before she made a move, they went to her. Standing next to her like they were just a king and a Lycan Lord who had taken interest in a particular local Kawai woman. It was that simple.
Besides, the duo had been mingling with the locals enough not to trigger any panic.
"Yilena," Lord Sadako greeted suddenly.
There was a warning in his greeting and even in his posture.
It was as if he was warning her against trying shit with the kids out there, or even hurting them on this night. That was something that Sadako was right to think of, because frankly, Yilena hadn’t given them any reasons to trust her.
All the days she had been here, she had been causing trouble since the ultimatum.
"You must think I’m the cruelest in this gathering," Yilena said softly as she watched Tamiko and Kosta hug each other. She looked so devastated, and the regret on her face was really churning to an extent.
She had done this.
She had doomed them.
Did she really have the time to play a regretful woman when this was her doing?
"Hmm," Lord Sadako responded as he stood before her, like this was the time to tell her that she was not leaving.
Maybe they were trying to make her stay so she would today hit about the kids ahead, but was that even important when Yilena only ever wanted them to have the best?
Maybe Sadako was not willing to take any chances with the kids anymore.
They had watched them unravel for eleven years.
The ultimatum had introduced them to the worst of relationships and the kinds that had the realm wondering if the prince and his Erasthai were doomed to be apart.
And then the battlefield happened, and everyone who was there saw just how much they were willing to give up for each other.
It was the kind of love that even the Furfantes were still not brave enough to go after.
The kind of love that haunted evil because of how pure it all was.
That wasn’t the kind of shit that anyone wanted to face at the moment, and honestly, Sadako was right to be protective of them.
They deserved it all.
"I didn’t think it would take this long, Sadako. I thought it would be just two years of straight vengeance and then they would be done. I was happy they made each other, and it was the only way. They had to live a life without battle.
"Now here we are, eleven years later, with my ultimatum choking them like it’s nothing. They can breathe, and they can’t even look at me because they think I can manipulate the ultimatum even further," Yilena sighed, her defeat evident.
She was remorseful.
But was her remorse ever to give them the lives she had turned upside down?
Was it going to make it all better just because Yilena Sidorova wanted to change for the better? Was it ever going to make sense for them? Was this just another day for them to try and lean into things that would forever never make sense to them?
Life was complicated, but the ultimatum...
Gods, that was the shit that was crazier as the days went by.
Eleven winters had passed, and yet there was nothing that could undo it because the Grealors were still there.
The Grealors still lived and breathed.
The Grealors still had the time to come up with better strategies.
It was a long war for Yilena, too. Honestly, if it were up to her, she would have long killed the Grealors and she would have eliminated them. But even she knew that where suffering was owed, death was too good a mercy.
And the Grealors needed to suffer.
Which was why this was so complicated as fuck.
When would it end?
How long would it take after this?
What were the odds that it’d take another ten years for them to get the fix they needed?
"You can undo it, Yilena. It has done enough damage," King Zaffuto said as he looked at his sister. There was so much in between.
Honestly, it was too expensive.
The pain was enough.
The suffering was not even meant for the kids, and yet they had paid the price for it.
Yilena had to figure out a way through this, but the easiest one was to make sure that they stayed together. They deserved it, after everything. But there was something else in Yilena’s eyes.
One that no one was ready for.
Zaffuto wondered if his sister was really that devil of cruelty. He wondered if this was what life was like for them. If this was what life had become. He wondered if there wasn’t much they could do.
Of course, if it had been just a word that Yilena had thrown carelessly back then...
Zaffuto would have long undone it.
However, over the ten years Zaffuto had tried to use his power as the head of the Hinata bloodline to undo the curse, but it had stayed even then.
The mighty king was unable to free his son and his Erasthai. That was the kind of thing that hurt the most. It was the kind of shot that made the world pause, and Zaffuto wondered if this was ever going to be worth it.
It was crazy.
Really crazy.
But maybe now, if Yilena saw how much their kids ached for each other and how desperate they were to be together, she would lift it all right?
"I can’t... not now. Not even if I wanted to," tile sighed softly.
Zaffuto stared at his sister, then at his best friend, before his eyes went to their kids on the dancefloor, still clinging onto each other like they wanted to stay like that forever.
There was something in the way that they were holding onto each other that tugged at the mad king’s heart. Surely his sister was not that cruel to deny the kids the life they wanted.
Even the demons of the past would not have done what Yilena had done.
She couldn’t just stand and watch as they undid each other, right? Anyone with eyes could see the love, the affection, the desire that remained between Kosta and Tamiko. What was it that Yilena was not understanding at the moment? 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
What was it that had the woman acting like she was suddenly some weakling without the simplest understanding of what was built for them?
What the hell, yeah?
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Sadako asked, seeing as Zaffuto was seething.
There was a chance that the siblings would try to fight here, which wouldn’t end well because they were both powerful and were the strongest of the Hinatas. It was just a pointless battle for them.
"I’m not sure yet. That’s why I came to the ball myself. I tried, but there is something else there. Something I didn’t put between them. If I break the ultimatum now, it will kill them both... our kids will die, Zaffuto."
