Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT)-Chapter 188: Bi-curious
Chapter 188: Bi-curious
The restaurant buzzed with the hum of conversations and the clinking of cutlery against plates. The warm, inviting aroma of grilled meats and spices filled the air, making Lian and Mei’s eyes sparkle with excitement as they eagerly scanned the menu. Their fingers traced over the options before they settled on a generous order of ribs, their faces lighting up with anticipation.
Han Zhan, observing the twins’ enthusiasm, couldn’t help but chuckle. "As small as you two are, will you be able to finish all that?" he teased, raising an eyebrow.
Lian shot him a defiant look. "Don’t underestimate me," she declared, her voice brimming with confidence.
"Yeah," Mei chimed in, nodding vigorously. "Ask Master. In the past, we ate an entire roasted pig ourselves."
Xiang Yu, who had been quietly perusing the menu, closed it with a soft thud. "It was a piglet, not a full pig," he corrected, his tone as calm and measured as ever.
Lian grinned sheepishly. "That’s right, a piglet." At the time, they had nothing else to eat, and it was the only available option otherwise it was too cute to eat. The two of them where wailing and eating it at the same time. The scene was both sad and comical.
Han Zhan’s brow furrowed in confusion. From the information he had gathered, Lian and Mei had only just met Xiang Yu before he saved them. When did they have time to eat a piglet? It had only been a couple of days. He was seriously starting to doubt his intel.
Soon, the food arrived, and the table was laden with an array of dishes. The twins’ eyes widened at the sight of the ribs, and they wasted no time digging in. The atmosphere was filled with the sounds of happy munching and occasional bursts of laughter as everyone chatted and enjoyed their meal.
Han Xin, ever observant, noticed something intriguing. Throughout the entire meal, Xiang Yu didn’t forget to cater to Lian, Mei, and Little Bai, almost like a mother of three. He watched as Xiang Yu deftly intercepted Lian’s attempts to pass vegetables into Little Bai’s plate. When Lian was caught, she tried to defend herself, claiming she wasn’t a rabbit, but Xiang Yu remained firm.
Unbeknownst to Xiang Yu, Han Xin was paying close attention to him. Suddenly, Xiang Yu caught a glimpse of a young man sitting at a table across the restaurant, sneaking glances at him. His expression remained stoic, but internally, he was puzzled.
Sure, he was handsome, but not that handsome. He began to wonder if something was on his face. The attention he had received today was startling. With a slight shake of his head, Xiang Yu looked away and continued eating, his focus returning to the meal.
As the group waited for dessert, Xiang Yu excused himself and made his way to the bathroom. The fancy restroom was relatively empty, its marble countertops and polished fixtures gleaming under the soft lights. He chose the furthest urinal, appreciating the solitude.
The soft trickling sound of water was interrupted by the creak of the door opening. Xiang Yu glanced sideways as the young man from earlier entered and took a spot two stalls away. Xiang Yu quickly looked away, focusing on finishing up.
At the sink, as he washed his hands, the young man bit his lower lip, seemingly gathering his courage. He moved to the sink next to Xiang Yu and began washing his hands. "You must be Xiang Yu, right?" he asked, his voice tentative. freēwēbnovel.com
Xiang Yu’s brows furrowed as he looked down at the young man, who was a head shorter than him. He searched his memory, trying to recall if he had met this person before, but nothing came to mind. The young man looked at him with expectant eyes. "Do I know you?" Xiang Yu asked, his tone neutral.
The young man wasn’t offended. "Ah, you must not have checked your phone," he said, a hint of excitement in his voice.
Xiang Yu’s confusion deepened. "Huh?" he asked, his voice reflecting his bewilderment.
The young man took out his phone and swiped it open, showing an app called StarMatch. "Look, we are a match on the app. I was just too excited and couldn’t wait to speak to you directly," he explained, his nervousness evident.
"I am sorry, I am being rude. My name is Su Bei," the young man added quickly.
Xiang Yu stared at him, speechless for a moment. "I am not on a dating app," he finally said, his voice firm.
Su Bei’s eyes widened in surprise. "What? No, it’s really you," he insisted, tapping the profile on his phone. He showed Xiang Yu the profile, which displayed his name, age, and a picture. The photo was of Xiang Yu standing shirtless in the kitchen, clearly taken without his knowledge.
Xiang Yu’s expression darkened. This picture was taken a few days ago by Mei. When he asked what she was doing Lian answered for her saying nothing we are just playing with the camera. Who would have thought they where taking it for this?
Xiang Yu took out his phone, his brow furrowing as he finally decided to check the notifications that had been buzzing all day. Sure enough, they were from a dating app he didn’t even remember installing. The notifications indicated that a perfect match was nearby, explaining why he had been getting so many looks throughout the day.
Opening the app, Xiang Yu was greeted with over fifteen matches. He raised his head, an apologetic smile on his face. "Um, I am sorry about this. My kids must have been messing with my phone."
Su Bei’s eyes widened in surprise. "Kids? Are you married and just wasting people’s time?" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with disappointment. Su Bei had chosen this app for its serious approach to relationships, where users had to pay for access and answer extensive questions before joining. He had hoped to find a genuine connection, not a bi-curious married man playing games.
Xiang Yu could see the misunderstanding but felt compelled to clarify. "No, I am not married," he said, his tone calm but firm. "My adopted kids thought I might be lonely, so they signed me up. It’s just a misunderstanding."
Su Bei’s expression softened slightly. "Oh," he said, gathering his courage. "So, would you like to meet up for some coffee sometime?"
Xiang Yu offered an apologetic smile, already plotting how to deal with Lian and Mei after this. "I am so sorry, but I am not looking for a relationship," he replied gently.
