Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 928: The Murderer is Indeed Huang Yi
Chapter 928: Chapter 928: The Murderer is Indeed Huang Yi
From this incident, Gao Mantang also began to acknowledge Xiang Yu. If it weren’t for Xiang Yu, he might have made an unforgivable mistake.
Xiang Yu saw the seriousness on his face and spoke, "This matter is not trivial. I think we should mobilize more personnel and monitor the entire hospital. If anyone suspicious shows up, we apprehend them and question them."
After Xiang Yu finished speaking, Gao Zhitao opened his mouth wide in shock and said, "No need for that, right? It’s just a few punks."
Gao Mantang also let out a bitter smile. Although Xiang Yu’s method was sound, it seemed like overkill.
With a hospital of this size, if all his people were to be deployed for surveillance, it would require at least dozens of men.
If word got out that he called on military resources just to protect his grandson, it would be laughable.
Besides, they still didn’t know who they were guarding against. If it turned out to be small-time troublemakers, it would be even more embarrassing.
Gao Mantang didn’t agree on the spot and merely smiled faintly. The trust he just developed toward Xiang Yu quickly faded.
Anyone could come up with Xiang Yu’s approach—it was simply to deploy more people and exercise caution.
"I think it’s absolutely necessary," Xiang Yu said upon noticing Gao Mantang’s hesitation.
Not wanting to reject Xiang Yu outright, Gao Mantang chuckled dryly and said, "I’ll consider it further."
Upon hearing Gao Mantang’s reply, Xiang Yu knew it wasn’t going to happen, but he also understood the man’s position.
After all, the other party was a military man, though he was an elder in the army and a high-ranking officer. Still, the military isn’t his personal property; he could only deploy resources temporarily, not indefinitely to protect his family.
This was the constraint placed upon them.
As everyone remained silent, not knowing what to say, a soldier approached, stood before Gao Mantang, and saluted professionally, reporting, "Commander, the investigation is complete. It’s someone named Huang Yi who incited them."
"Smack!" Upon hearing the name, Gao Mantang slammed his palm onto the tea table.
Gao Zhitao was so enraged that he nearly jumped out of bed. Though he and Huang Yi had minor disputes in the past, it never escalated to this.
And now Huang Yi dared to plot his murder. Truly deranged.
"Is the information reliable?" Xiang Yu asked the soldier.
"Absolutely accurate." The soldier said, then retreated.
"Huang Yi—is he the same Director Huang?" Gao Mantang asked, looking at Gao Zhitao.
Gao Zhitao nodded reluctantly. His mild dislike for Huang Yi had now transformed into outright disgust.
"Huang Yi! Huang Yi! How dare you pull something like this!" Gao Mantang muttered, picking up his phone.
"Grandpa, don’t react impulsively. This matter isn’t fully verified yet; don’t act rashly," Gao Zhitao urged hastily.
He knew his grandfather’s temper—when this old man lost control, it was as if the heavens might fall.
"What do you mean not verified? It’s confirmed!" Gao Mantang shouted as the call connected.
"Deploy the Third Battalion immediately. I’m at the hospital." Gao Mantang barked into the phone and hung up.
Tie Zhuzi, standing nearby, was suddenly thrilled and said, "Zhitao’s grandpa, that’s exactly how it should be. I support you!"
Tie Zhuzi stood there, clearly relishing the chaos. This sort of swift vengeance was what they lived for. Since the enemy had already come knocking, not responding would be unacceptable.
Knowing his grandfather’s temper, Gao Zhitao hurried to intervene. "Grandpa, calm down. I’m fine here; it hasn’t escalated to such extremes."
Gao Mantang glared at him and waved dismissively. "You don’t need to worry about this. I have my arrangements."
Fuming and breathless, Gao Mantang rose and stormed out.
Xiang Yu remained seated, silently observing. Gao Mantang was an old hand; he’d undoubtedly act with measured restraint.
"Xiang Yu, why don’t you try to dissuade him? What if something goes wrong?" Gao Zhitao fretted.
Xiang Yu chuckled calmly, replying, "Relax, nothing’s going to happen."
Xiang Yu wasn’t overly concerned about Huang Yi. After all, as the bureau director, Huang Yi wouldn’t personally come to kill Gao Zhitao.
The ones he sent were nothing more than insignificant street thugs, of no real threat. What worried Xiang Yu most was retaliation from the Falcon Organization.
Xiang Yu hadn’t mentioned the Falcon Organization to Gao Mantang. Gao Mantang, as the regional military leader, would likely raise the army’s attention if he knew, and that could cause widespread panic among the city’s inhabitants—something Xiang Yu wanted to avoid.
"I’m heading outside for a moment," Xiang Yu said and walked to the small garden behind the hospital. Finding a secluded spot, he took out his phone and made a call.
Currently, Wang Ze was leading Heavenly Dragon Gang’s main forces in City Five, while Wu Jing had the Heavenly Dragon Squad stationed in City Four.
The only force Xiang Yu could mobilize right now was Han Rumei’s Dragon Heart group. Dragon Heart had long operated in secrecy, with few even aware of its existence.
Yet Dragon Heart held the most comprehensive, direct, and rapid intelligence across cities.
"Do we have a new mission?" Han Rumei asked, slightly excited after receiving Xiang Yu’s call, though she suppressed her emotions and spoke coldly.
"There might be some dangerous individuals coming here soon. Stay sharp and notify me if anything happens," Xiang Yu instructed.
"How dangerous?" Han Rumei asked.
After a moment of thought, Xiang Yu replied, "At Ren Baohe’s level."
Upon hearing that name, Han Rumei shuddered. That man was a psychopath—without Xiang Yu’s intervention, this city might have been reduced to ashes.
"Understood." Realizing the gravity of the situation, Han Rumei grew serious.
Xiang Yu hesitated as if wanting to say more. After a brief silence, he decided against it, only saying it was nothing and hanging up.
Deep down, Xiang Yu felt a sense of guilt toward Han Rumei. He understood her feelings for him, but he could offer her no promises.
Han Rumei, as Dragon Heart’s leader, frequently operated in darkness. Treating a woman this way troubled Xiang Yu greatly.
Still, paths are chosen by oneself. Xiang Yu wouldn’t interfere with her decisions.
After hanging up, Xiang Yu let out a sigh and returned to Gao Zhitao’s room.
It seemed likely they’d be spending the foreseeable future here. Originally, Xiang Yu had hoped Gao Mantang could deploy the military, which would undoubtedly strengthen security.
Now, that option was off the table. Gao Mantang, having confirmed that Huang Yi had targeted Gao Zhitao, was now wholly focused on dealing with Huang Yi.
Gao Mantang was a fiery-tempered old man. Knowing Huang Yi was behind it, he went so far as to mobilize an entire battalion, all with the intent of thoroughly teaching this bureau director a lesson he wouldn’t forget...
