A group of people energetically made their way into the city and booked a table at a five-star hotel. Everyone was in high spirits, so the drinking quickly spiraled out of control.
Especially Wu Yue—despite being wealthy, it had been a long time since she visited the city. This used to be Shi Jian’s turf, so she was extra cautious in the past.
But now that everyone was on the same side, all reservations were gone. She drank without restraint, embracing every toast, showing her uninhibited nature.
Watching the changes in the city, she felt out of sync with society, as if she couldn’t keep pace with the rhythm of life—like she was getting old.
They drank a lot, and Wu Yue ended up outright drunk, crying and laughing intermittently.
"Shi Jian, no wonder you don’t want to leave here for the mining district. It’s so comfortable here, all the bright lights and nightlife... Do you know what kind of life we live in the mines? We face dust every day, listening to the roar of machines..." Wu Yue began ranting, sounding emotional and out of control.
Feng Lan didn’t stop her, as she herself had had too much to drink at that point and was off in her own world, talking nonstop.
She clung to Xiang Yu and mumbled, "Xiang Yu, I just like you. I really like your fearless, tough-guy attitude."
Feng Lan held onto Xiang Yu’s arm and kept urging him to drink. With his famously high tolerance, alcohol seemed to have no effect on Xiang Yu at all.
"You’re drunk," Xiang Yu said, tugging at Feng Lan’s arm. He was starting to feel a headache coming on—drunken women were the hardest to deal with. They’d latch onto you and talk endlessly, only to forget everything the next day.
When Xiang Yu saw everyone had had more than enough, he sorted out rooms for them to rest. He himself helped Feng Lan to her room.
By this time Feng Lan was completely wasted, far beyond her usual drinking limits. She’d never dared before, because there had been no one to take care of her.
Now she felt reassured, because Xiang Yu was by her side, and she knew he would never leave her to fend for herself.
Xiang Yu helped her onto the bed, removed her shoes, and tucked her in with a blanket. After finishing these tasks, he sat by the bed to take a breather.
Suddenly, Feng Lan sat up abruptly, grabbed Xiang Yu by the neck, and pushed him down onto the bed.
Xiang Yu wasn’t prepared at all and ended up lying there flat. Feng Lan seized the chance to hold tightly onto his neck.
"Come on, sleep with me properly," Feng Lan said boldly and domineeringly.
Xiang Yu was utterly at a loss. While he couldn’t deny the comfort of her soft chest pressing against him, he wasn’t interested right now—his main concern was Feng Lan not vomiting.
Luckily, despite being heavily drunk, Feng Lan didn’t seem like she was about to throw up. Instead, she just clung forcefully to his neck, a leg thrown haphazardly onto Xiang Yu, making him extremely uncomfortable.
Xiang Yu tried to push her away, but Feng Lan clung to him stubbornly. Xiang Yu, being a man, hadn’t had thoughts at first, but as things calmed down, his heart started beating faster.
His heartbeat quickened, accompanied by a sharp spike in adrenaline. The adrenaline surge was proportional to the activity of a certain part of his anatomy.
Xiang Yu didn’t dare move. If he shifted even a little, he’d end up bumping against her. Considering himself a gentleman, he was determined not to take advantage of her.
He merely sneaked a quick glance into Feng Lan’s clothes but refrained from taking any action.
But just because Xiang Yu held back didn’t mean Feng Lan did. She mumbled incoherently, words unrecognizable.
Then, without warning, one of her hands reached down and grabbed him directly, sending a shiver coursing through Xiang Yu’s entire body.
What the hell was happening—how did she suddenly escalate things? And it was obvious Feng Lan had actually drifted off to sleep!
She now had a firm grip on Xiang Yu’s private parts. Xiang Yu couldn’t help thinking about what Feng Lan’s reaction would be if she woke up to this scene.
Obviously, Xiang Yu wasn’t going to let her keep holding on. He carefully moved Feng Lan’s hand away and shifted his body backward.
But Feng Lan immediately reached out again like she sensed something missing, tightly wrapping her arms around him once more. She had practically transformed Xiang Yu into her oversized stuffed toy.
After several failed attempts to free himself, Xiang Yu had no choice but to reluctantly give in.
If he couldn’t escape, then there was no point trying further. Since Feng Lan was the one initiating, Xiang Yu went ahead and wrapped his arms around her neck, threw a leg over her, and fell asleep embracing her.
Turns out the old saying was true: If you can’t evade it, you might as well accept it.
Early the next morning, Xiaoxuan got up first to wash up and then went to Xiang Yu’s room. He quickly realized Xiang Yu wasn’t there, and the room was pristine, untouched—obviously, Xiang Yu hadn’t returned to sleep.
Xiaoxuan’s heart skipped a beat—had something gone wrong? Could someone have broken in during the night? Unlike the others, Xiaoxuan hadn’t been drinking and was completely clear-headed.
He rushed out in a panic and soon saw Tie Zhuzi lazily making his way over.
"Zhuzi, Brother Yu isn’t here!" Xiaoxuan said anxiously.
Although Tie Zhuzi had drunk a lot last night, he still retained memories of what had transpired. His mind, being somewhat shrewder than Xiaoxuan’s, immediately glanced in the direction of Feng Lan’s room.
"Brother Yu went to her room last night and didn’t come out," Tie Zhuzi said, half curious and half envious.
Xiaoxuan slapped his forehead as he finally remembered—Xiang Yu had taken Feng Lan back to her room the previous night. Given how drunk Feng Lan had been, it wouldn’t be surprising if something had happened between them.
Relieved that his worries were unfounded, Xiaoxuan relaxed. He was just overthinking, it seemed.
As the two prepared to enter Xiang Yu’s room, a sudden sharp scream pierced through the air, coming from Shi Jian’s room next door.
Tie Zhuzi and Xiaoxuan immediately turned their attention to the scene. Shi Jian burst out of his room wearing only a pair of boxers, his upper body bare.
The scream inside clearly belonged to Wu Yue.
"Things don’t sound good," Tie Zhuzi muttered with an odd expression as he stood by the door.
Shi Jian hurriedly dashed into Xiang Yu’s room, grabbed a bedsheet, and wrapped it around himself, not sparing a glance at Tie Zhuzi or Xiaoxuan.
"She’s a damned tigress—a real tigress! She tormented me all night," Shi Jian grumbled, though no one could follow what he was rambling about.
At that moment, the door to Feng Lan’s room opened, and Xiang Yu stepped out, dark circles under his eyes. He didn’t spare Tie Zhuzi or Xiaoxuan a glance either, retreating directly into his own room and collapsing onto the bed.
"Looks like we’re just invisible now," Tie Zhuzi muttered.
Xiaoxuan nodded in agreement, standing silently with him by the door.
Then Feng Lan emerged from her room, her cheeks glowing with color. When she spotted Tie Zhuzi and Xiaoxuan, her face flushed red, and she quickly lowered her head and walked into Xiang Yu’s room—to apologize.
She approached Xiang Yu’s bedside, saw him lying there, and quickly said, "Sorry, Xiang Yu, I drank too much last night."
Standing off to the side, Shi Jian protested the unfairness of it all. Why was it that, despite similar circumstances, Shi Jian had been kicked out of his room, while Feng Lan was here apologizing to Xiang Yu? Was it simply because Xiang Yu was better-looking...?
