Melissa’s face turned red and swollen.
Melissa didn’t care about the slap and said, "Okay, Jessie, when you finally calm down. I"ll say it again. I didn’t plagiarize."
"What do you mean?" Jessie asked angrily.
Jessie thought, How dare Melissa scorn me in public?
"Just literal meaning," Melissa replied bluntly.
"Stop confusing us! The truth is that you plagiarized." Jessie raised her voice, wanting more people to know about it.
At first, only a few people knew of the design of "Ice and Fire".
Now, Jessie’s words informed the whole secretarial department of it.
The other staff looked at Melissa with suspicion.
After all, Marilyn was so famous. Yet, Melissa was just an ordinary secretary.
What’s more, Melissa came from the countryside. How could she design jewelry?
The others suspected that Melissa ventured to plagiarize in order to get promoted.
"Jessie Kennet, do you have anything else to do? If not, please go back. I don’t welcome mad dogs here," Melissa said calmly.
"What? How dare you call me a mad dog?" Jessie was enraged.
Melissa remained calm. "Did I say that? You said it yourself."
"You!" Jessie was indignant.
Jessie breathed deeply. She aimed to expose Melissa’s plagiarism in public.
Thinking of this, Jessie snorted coldly and questioned, "How dare you be so arrogant after you plagiarized?
"The ’Ice and Fire’ will be released in two days. There will be a press conference then. Do you want to cause a scandal for the Gibson Corporation?"
"Jessie Kennet, you are from the design department. The press conference has nothing to do with you. You’d better use the time to improve the design ability of your department," Melissa said sarcastically.
Jessie was upset. "You’re so shameless. Since you refuse to admit that you plagiarized, I’ll tell Mr. Gibson that you copied Love and Romance and ask him to cancel the press conference."
"Murray has put me in charge of the press conference," Melissa smiled and said.
"That’s Impossible." Jessie sneered.
Jessie thought, I don’t believe that Murray didn’t see the news of Love and Romance.
As long as he saw it, he would know that Melissa’s ’Ice and Fire’ design plagiarized other’s ideas.
I don’t believe that Murray will hold a press conference after knowing that Melissa plagiarized.
"Whether you believe it or not, this is the truth." Melissa ignored Jessie. Melissa had a lot of things to do for the press conference in two days due to the news of Love and Romance.
Melissa didn’t want to waste time with Jessie.
"Melissa Eugen, you’re too proud. How could Mr. Gibson put you in charge of the press conference? You’re only a plagiarizer," Jessie said in a hostile tone.
Melissa frowned. Just as she was about to speak, a familiar cold voice was heard, "I’ve put Melissa in charge of the press conference. Do you have any objections?"
Melissa looked up and saw Murray.
"What are you doing here during work time?" Murray asked coldly.
The other employees hushed and returned to their seats nervously.
"Mr. Gibson," Once seeing Murray, Jessie greeted him, "Did you see the news? Love and Romance’s newly released design is the same as Melissa’s design, ’Ice and Fire’."
"So what?" Murray frowned.
So what?
Jessie was stunned.
She thought, Obviously, Melissa copied others. Shouldn’t Murray fire Melissa immediately?
Jessie looked at Murray and said, "It means that Melissa’s designs copied others."
Seeing that Murray didn’t understand, Jessie clicked on the designs posted online by Love and Romance and compared them with Melissa’s designs.
"Look at these! The jewelry newly released by Love and Romance is similar to Melissa’s ’Ice and Fire’. The most important thing was that idea, Life Without Limits. This is enough to prove that Melissa plagiarized Marilyn."
Murray glanced at Jessie coldly. "Why don’t you think that Marilyn copied Melissa?"
Jessie thought, Marilyn copied Melissa?!

Jessie bit her lips. "Marilyn is the top jewelry designer. She has won many international awards in recent years. How could she plagiarize a layman like Melissa?"

Jessie walked out of the secretarial department and toward the design department.
Accidentally, she bumped into someone.
Jessie looked up. She bumped into Jim Corbin, the vice president of the company.
"Mr. Corbin, I’m sorry," Jessie apologized.
"What’s wrong?" Jim frowned and asked.
Jessie informed Jim of Melissa’s plagiarism. "I don’t understand why Mr. Gibson trusts Melissa. He insists on holding a press conference despite knowing that Melissa plagiarized. Isn’t it obvious that Melissa will cause a scandal for the company?"
Jessie paused and continued, "Mr. Corbin, you are an elder of the company. You have to be fair."
Jim sighed. "The company now belongs to young people. It’s not up to the senior."
After Jessie left, Melissa threw herself into the work. She must make sure that the press conference will be successful in two days. This was related to the Gibson Corporation’s reputation.
It was time to get off work.
"Let’s go home ," Murray called Melissa.
Melissa looked at the time and shook her head, "I’ll continue working. You can go first."
"Alright." Murray hung up the phone.
The night fell and Melissa was still working.
Suddenly, footsteps were heard. Melissa raised her eyebrows.
It was Murray.
"Didn’t you go home?" Melissa asked in surprise.
Murray walked to Melissa with a thermos in his hand.

Only then did Melissa remember that she had not eaten dinner yet.
Melissa wondered, How does Murray know that I haven’t had dinner? Why did he even bring me the meal?
