Unscented-Chapter 1050 - 992 Grief Is No Greater Than Death.
After leaving the Timothy family villa,Sylvia went to her subordinate’s residence.
When she walked in,she heard True crying, kicking her legs and sucking her fists.
Seeing this,Sylvia frowned irritably and said,
"Can’t you feed her something? She needs to eat!"
The two men felt helpless and explained to Sylvia, 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"it’s not that we don’t feed her.She cries whether she has eaten or not. We’ll soon lose it."
"Yes,Miss Sylvia.Besides, how can we,two single men, take care of a baby? You better get rid of the baby as soon as possible."
Sylvia could tell that they wanted her to kill True. She did have this idea. But before she gave an affirmative answer, another thought flashed through her mind.
"Don’t kill her!"Sylvia believed in karma,so she thought for a while and decided not to be ruthless.
"I’m going to leave the child at the gate of the orphanage home, and let her grow up there!"
When the men saw the cruel sneer on Sylvia’s face, they were more confused,
"Why?As the saying goes,it’s difficult to remove the roots when grass has been cut."
"You don’t understand..."
Sylvia was elated. She patted True, who was crying nonstop, and said,
"This is the bastard Nina left.Since she was not destined to die in a car accident, her life is to suffer from all kinds of hardships in the world."
After saying that, she picked up True, comforted her and said to the men,
"Please take care of her for one more day.At night, leave her at the gate of the orphanage."
The two men agreed, thinking that Sylvia was indeed a femme fatale.
A month later,on the day Nina was discharged from the hospital, she went to the cemetery in the suburbs with Tom.
She saw two graves in front of her.The big one was her parents who were buried together, and the little one was her daughter,True.
"Father,Mother,True..."Nina knelt in front of the graves, tears streaming down her eyes.
She still remembered the scene a month ago.At that time, she and Harley buried their parents together. But Nina didn’t expect her daughter to die in such a short time.
She lost her parents in a fire incident, and then a car accident made her lose the only person she had left.
"I’m sorry,True. It’s my fault.I shouldn’t have brought you to this world."She held True’s tombstone and cried until Tom helped her up.
"Nina, everyone has his or her own fate."Tom tried to make her feel better,
"Everything isn’t over.Your family members are resting in peace here. You have to live your life to the fullest for them."
"I don’t want to."Nina shook her head.
"I’d rather sleep on this cold ground with them."Nina felt hopeless. When her parents died, her daughter was her support. But True was dead now.She had no reason to smile anymore.
Tom had even heard Nina’s deathwish. In a moment of desperation,he talked her out of it immediately.
"Trust me.Your life is meaningful!"Tom didn’t care if Nina liked it or not.He held her tightly and said,"Let’s leave here and start a new life. You can consider it as a rebirth.Don’t live in the past."
Nina didn’t agree. She didn’t love Tom anymore. And it didn’t matter whom she loved now.
The grief was no greater than one’s death. The continuous death of her family members made Nina lose faith in life.
"I’ve told you that we can’t start over.We won’t do it now,and we won’t do it in the future."Nina shook her head insisted,
"Tom,I see you as my friend now.Our love story is like the cemetery in front of us,and the dead can not be raised."
Despite hearing Nina admit to no longer being in love with him,Tom shamelessly patted her on her back and muttered,
"Who says we can’t be together again?I’m rich now,and I can support you forever.I will do bigger businesses, and I won’t be looked down on by others!"
Nina was amused by the confident look on Tom’s face, even though she was sad,she said.
"You look really rich now,but it’s a pity that I’m not lucky enough to accept it."Nina replied expressionlessly. She was not interested in the money and status that Tom showed off.
He could earn more money,if he lost some, but he couldn’t get back someone who he had lost.
"No,you are!"Tom insisted stubbornly,
"From now on,you can come with me.You’ll live a happy life every day.In the future,we will give birth to a brother or sister for True. You have grandparents to take care of you,and you’ll be happy."
Seeing that Tom was happily imagining the future,Nina shook her head and sighed. Then she kissed her parents’and daughter’s tombstones and staggered out of the cemetery.
The wounds on Nina’s body hadn’t fully healed, and she looked a little lame as she walked.
When Tom saw Nina walking out of the cemetery,he turned and followed her shamelessly.
In the middle of the night.Tom sat on the sofa and slept off.He suddenly woke up and found that Nina, who had been resting on the bed,had disappeared.
"Nina!"He called her name anxiously, fearing that she would do something bad to herself.
Tom asked a staff in the hotel who told him that the last time he saw Nina was when she entered the elevator to the top floor.
Tom’s heart pounded faster on hearing this.He prayed that Nina wouldn’t take things too far.
He got to the rooftop of the hotel in one breath.Tom climbed up breathlessly and saw Nina looking at the night sky.
She was less than one meter away from the edge of the rooftop,it was a distance between life and death.
Tom didn’t dare to breathe heavily or call her name.He walked quietly behind Nina, held her arm,and sat her down, only to find several bottles of beer in front of her.
"It’s windy and dangerous here.Let’s go back."Nina calmly replied,
"No,I want to stay here and enjoy the night wind."
After saying that, she opened a can of beer and gulped it down.Holding the can in her hand, she stared blankly at the dusk of the city.
"What are you thinking about?"Tom asked tentatively. He was unable to guess what Nina was thinking about. It seemed like she was fine, but no one knew what was running through her mind.
"I was thinking that my parents and daughter were murdered.I was supposed to die too,but I just happened to escape it."Nina was drunk that night,so Tom helped her to her room. When she woke up again,it was already noon.
