Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 99: Follow Me In
The woman’s back was to Lin Kuang. Her hair was still wet, and she was clad in a pristine white bath towel. However, the towel didn’t fully cover her delicate body; her shoulders and captivating back were largely exposed, looking quite enchanting. Her smooth, long legs were on full display, but he couldn’t see anything else.
Behind her, a shattered washbasin lay on the floor amidst a pile of broken fragments. Lin Kuang then noticed a gash on her back, near her right arm. The wound, about a centimeter wide, was steadily dripping blood.
Although he could only see her from behind, Lin Kuang knew at a glance that the woman was none other than Yang Ruotong.
"Ruotong, are you alright?" he asked hastily after a brief moment of stunned silence, his tone tinged with embarrassment.
The woman in the bathroom was indeed Yang Ruotong. She had just finished her shower and was drying herself off when her foot slipped. She fell, knocking over the washbasin behind her and sending it crashing to the floor, which created the scene before him.
Yang Ruotong was still dazed from the fall. When she heard Lin Kuang’s voice, she snapped out of it and instinctively turned her head to look at him. She seemed to have forgotten that the bath towel wasn’t fully covering her, especially after her tumble, which had caused it to slip down even further. At the sight, Lin Kuang’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and the blood in his veins began to race.
Yang Ruotong froze, confused as to why he was staring at her like that. But when her eyes followed his gaze, she realized she was exposed. In an instant, she clutched the towel tightly to herself. A crimson blush spread across her pretty face, making her look incredibly alluring.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang reluctantly tore his eyes away. "Ahem... Ruotong, um... are you okay? Do you need a hand up?" he asked awkwardly.
"No, no need! Just go, I can manage on my own," Yang Ruotong said, her face still bright red. At that moment, she was incredibly annoyed with herself for having turned around.
"Ah, okay," Lin Kuang replied, quickly backing out of the room, though the stunning image he had just witnessed was still burned into his mind.
About ten minutes later, Yang Ruotong emerged. Her cheeks were still a little pink, but she was no longer as flustered as before.
Seeing her come out of the room, Lin Kuang rushed to explain. "Ruotong, I’m sorry. I heard a loud noise upstairs and thought an intruder had gotten in, so I ran up. I didn’t know you were showering in there, and I didn’t even know that was the bathroom. Ahem, please... please don’t be upset."
Yang Ruotong had been wondering why he had come upstairs. Hearing his explanation, she understood he had been worried for her safety, and a warmth spread through her heart at the thought.
"It’s... it’s okay," she said, her face flushing again. "Ruoxi and Xinxin went out shopping, so they’re not here."
Her words caught Lin Kuang off guard. Why is she telling me that? It’s obvious they aren’t here. Is she... implying I should do something? Thinking this, he stared at her blankly.
Seeming to realize her slip of the tongue, Yang Ruotong’s pretty face turned an even deeper shade of red. She stammered, trying to explain, "No, no, I just mean that since Ruoxi and Xinxin aren’t home, you can... you can do whatever you want."
"Huh?" Lin Kuang was even more stunned. Does she have to be so direct?
"Ah, no, that’s not what I meant! Don’t get the wrong idea." After taking a moment to organize her thoughts, Yang Ruotong explained quickly, "I just meant they aren’t here, so you can sit wherever you like. Make yourself at home. They should be back soon." As she spoke, her face grew even rosier, resembling a ripe cherry that practically begged to be bitten.
"Ah, oh, right. I know, I know," Lin Kuang managed to say, feeling just as awkward.
"Um, I... I’ll go back to my room now. Feel free to sit anywhere," Yang Ruotong said, her face flushing one last time before she turned to leave hastily.
"Wait, Ruotong!" Lin Kuang called out, his eyes fixed on the cut. "Your back is still bleeding, and it’ll be difficult for you to bandage it yourself. Do you want me to help?"
"Ah... well, okay, then," Yang Ruotong agreed after a moment’s hesitation.
She knew she was bleeding, of course, but had been too embarrassed to ask for help. Now that he had offered, she accepted. It was an open wound, and as a woman, she was naturally a little frightened. Besides, she couldn’t reach it herself. She couldn’t just let it bleed, could she? How would she even get dressed?
Hearing her agree, Lin Kuang felt a flutter of anticipation in his chest.
"You... come in with me," Yang Ruotong said, trying her best to keep her tone even. She wanted to dispel the amorous atmosphere that was making her so uncomfortable.
"Okay," Lin Kuang agreed without hesitation and followed her into her room.
Inside, the room was decorated simply, almost starkly, in white and pale green, giving it a very comfortable feel. However, lying on the snow-white bed was a set of fiery red lingerie. Lin Kuang couldn’t help but feel a fresh wave of embarrassment, and when Yang Ruotong’s gaze followed his, her face turned scarlet. In her earlier panic, she had completely forgotten she had left her underwear out on the bed. For him to see it now was mortifying. She quickly snatched the lingerie and stuffed it into her wardrobe.
"Um, Lin Kuang, you can sit down. I’ll go get the first-aid kit," she said, her face burning with embarrassment. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Oh, Ruotong, there’s no need for that," Lin Kuang said quickly. "Please, just have a seat."
"Huh? No first-aid kit? Then, what are you going to do?" she couldn’t help but ask.
"Don’t worry, I have my methods. Please, sit," Lin Kuang said with a confident smile.
Hearing this, Yang Ruotong skeptically sat down beside him, her curiosity momentarily making her forget the earlier awkwardness. As she settled next to him, a faint fragrance wafted into his nostrils, sending an involuntary shiver through him. He wasn’t sure if it was her natural scent or her shampoo and shower gel, but whatever it was, it smelled wonderful.
Shaking his head to clear the distracting thoughts, Lin Kuang took a tissue and gently wiped the blood from her back. Then, he pressed his fingers against Yang Ruotong’s wound, causing her delicate body to tremble slightly.
