Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 65: Not Fighting Yet Bending
Lin Guo’er led the way into Liu Shilin’s office, followed by Han Qiaoqiao and her two black bodyguards.
"Shilin, this woman wants to see you," Lin Guo’er said indifferently.
Busy with work, Liu Shilin looked up at the sound of Lin Guo’er’s voice and saw Han Qiaoqiao standing before her. "Manager Han, what brings you here? Please, have a seat," Liu Shilin said with a sincere smile, standing to greet her.
Han Qiaoqiao was quite impolite, sitting directly opposite Liu Shilin before she spoke. "How could I not come? Your man nearly beat my brother to death. Did you expect me to just ignore that?" As she spoke, she shot a glance at Lin Kuang, who was sitting on the sofa.
Hearing Han Qiaoqiao’s words and following her gaze, Liu Shilin immediately understood. However, she didn’t blame Lin Kuang. After all, what was done was done, and she truly despised Han Fei anyway.
"I’m sorry, Manager Han. This incident was my oversight. I will definitely discipline Lin Kuang accordingly," Liu Shilin said earnestly.
"Discipline him?" Han Qiaoqiao scoffed. "President Liu, could you tell me exactly how you plan to do that? My demands aren’t high. Cripple both his arms and his legs, and the Han Family will continue our partnership. Otherwise, this cooperation is terminated! And you know full well what happens to those who offend the Han Family, especially here in East Sea!" Her tone was thick with menace.
At her words, Liu Shilin’s expression changed instantly. So did Lin Guo’er’s.
"Han Qiaoqiao, you bitch! You dare try it and see what I do to you!" Lin Guo’er exploded before Liu Shilin could even speak.
Hearing this, Han Qiaoqiao’s face turned ugly. She was somewhat wary of Lin Guo’er’s background, but as a businesswoman driven solely by profit, she didn’t believe the Lin Family would fall out with the Han Family over a minor company like Yashi. Although the Lin Family was slightly more powerful, bringing down the Han Family would be no easy task. Even if they succeeded, the Lin Family would undoubtedly suffer for it.
"Lin Guo’er, don’t think I won’t touch you. I’m making it clear today: I am going to ruin Yashi!" Han Qiaoqiao snapped, standing up with a cold, indifferent tone.
"Fine, Han Qiaoqiao. You just try it. We’ll see if you have what it takes!" Lin Guo’er crossed her arms, a motion that made her ample chest seem even more magnificent. Her tone dripped with disdain.
"Oh, I won’t disappoint you!" Han Qiaoqiao retorted, her words like daggers.
Liu Shilin’s face flushed with embarrassment. This was the last thing she wanted to see happen. She just wanted to run her own company. Why did there always have to be so many problems?
"Manager Han, isn’t there any other way to resolve this?" Liu Shilin asked, trying to mediate.
"No. Either Yashi is ruined, or you do as I said and cripple both his arms and legs. You have two choices. Decide!" Han Qiaoqiao stated firmly.
Liu Shilin frowned. "Manager Han, aren’t you going too far?"
"Too far? Hah! Liu Shilin, who do you think you are? You’re not even worthy of my bullying!" Han Qiaoqiao said with extreme arrogance. Her domineering attitude made Lin Kuang frown.
"Han Qiaoqiao, apologize to Shilin this instant!" Lin Guo’er roared.
"Apologize? In your dreams!" Han Qiaoqiao sneered.
"In my dreams? Screw you!" Enraged, Lin Guo’er lashed out, swinging her arm and slapping Han Qiaoqiao hard across the right cheek.
SLAP!
The crisp sound echoed through the spacious office, piercingly loud.
No one except Lin Kuang had seen it coming. After the slap, a flicker of regret touched Lin Guo’er. Han Qiaoqiao was, after all, a very powerful woman. If she truly decided to fight the Lin Family to the bitter end, they would likely suffer greatly.
But what was done was done. And she didn’t regret it, not when Han Qiaoqiao was being such an insufferable bitch.
At that moment, Han Qiaoqiao was staring at Lin Guo’er in utter disbelief. She had never, ever imagined Lin Guo’er would actually hit her. Her right cheek burned hotly, feeling as if it were already swelling. The sensation pushed her rage to its absolute peak.
"Lin Guo’er, you crazy bitch, you dared to hit me?! You actually dared to hit me?!" Han Qiaoqiao’s voice became a shrill, grating shriek.
"That’s right, I hit you. So what?" Lin Guo’er replied with a cold laugh.
"Get her! Grab that woman!" Han Qiaoqiao’s piercing voice rose again, her beautiful eyes filled with venom, her face contorted with fury.
At her command, the two black bodyguards behind her moved decisively, reaching straight for Lin Guo’er. Seeing them advance, Lin Guo’er’s expression faltered. As a petite woman, how could she possibly be a match for two professionally trained brutes?
But in that critical moment, she felt herself pulled aside by a familiar, masculine presence.
"Two grown men attacking a woman. Have you no shame?" Lin Kuang’s flat voice filled the office. His cold, emotionless eyes were fixed on the two black bodyguards.
For some reason, the two men shuddered involuntarily under his gaze as an inexplicable fear crept into their hearts. It felt like being targeted by an alpha wolf on the plains, a sensation that sent chills down their spines. They were international mercenaries, for crying out loud! Each of them had taken dozens of lives! Yet, facing this man’s gaze, they felt a deep, primal fear.
For a moment, the two black bodyguards completely froze, forgetting to move or even speak.
"Go on! What are you standing there for?!" Han Qiaoqiao’s shrill voice snapped them out of it.
Lin Kuang just watched them quietly, his calm gaze devoid of any emotion or fluctuation. He was like a Killing God, indifferent to all of creation, sending an inexplicable tremor through their hearts. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
The two black bodyguards swallowed hard. Then, after exchanging a look, they took a decisive step back.
"Miss Han, we’ll forgo the money. We’re quitting this job. Goodbye!"
With that, the two men turned and left quickly. Only after they were out of the office did they realize their backs were completely soaked in sweat. But both of them felt immense relief, because they knew that if they had made a move, the cold-eyed man would have killed them.
Han Qiaoqiao just stood there, completely dumbfounded, unable to process what had just happened.
