Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 399: Killing Fern Again
Fan Molun stared blankly at Lin Kuang, as if he couldn't believe he was dying like this. But the fact had been established; he was well and truly dead.
Lin Kuang ignored Fan Molun's dying gaze and swiftly pulled Nameless from his heart.
Tavern's expression turned grim, his eyes filled with apprehension.
He, Fan Molun, and the four men in black hadn't been a match for Lin Kuang. Now that he was the only one left, what chance of victory did he have? The answer was, of course, none. Although he wanted to kill Lin Kuang, he wanted to live even more. After all, survival was what mattered most!
With this thought, Tavern dug his feet in and shot off at high speed, sprinting wildly in an attempt to flee. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
However, Lin Kuang had no intention of letting him escape. Since you've come all this way, why be in such a hurry to leave?
With a flick of his wrist, Lin Kuang flung Nameless through the air. The dagger shot forward like a sharp arrow, carrying an incredible speed and a chilling glint as it flew straight for Tavern's heart. At the same time, Lin Kuang pushed off with his feet, his entire body charging forward in hot pursuit.
While sprinting for his life, Tavern sensed the lethal attack from behind, and his expression soured. As an expert, he knew exactly what the sharp gust of wind at his back meant. He immediately exerted force through his feet, throwing his body sideways to dodge the projectile. Nameless flew past, embedding itself deep into the trunk of a large tree.
But the sideways dodge cost him precious time. In that brief moment, Lin Kuang closed the distance and appeared directly behind him.
Seeing Tavern's exposed back, Lin Kuang threw a punch without hesitation. The terrifying force created a sonic boom as it tore through the air, slamming directly into the center of Tavern's back.
Tavern felt the horrific power a split second before it connected, and his face contorted in alarm. He lunged forward, simultaneously thrusting the Triangular Military Spike in his hand backward in a desperate counterattack. The sharp point aimed viciously for Lin Kuang's heart, as if desperate to pierce it through.
Seeing this, a cold smirk touched Lin Kuang's lips. He sidestepped slightly, easily avoiding the spike. At the same instant, his hand shot out like lightning and clamped down on Tavern's wrist.
Tavern's body shook, and he tried to wrench his hand free, but Lin Kuang's grip was like a steel vise. He couldn't break it. Lin Kuang then tightened his grip.
CRACK!
With a sickening crunch, Lin Kuang crushed Tavern's wrist. The Triangular Military Spike fell from his limp hand.
"Ah!" Tavern couldn't help but scream in agony. The pain of having his wrist shattered was excruciating.
Lin Kuang's left hand snatched the falling spike from the air. In a flash of movement, he plunged the weapon deep into Tavern's chest, piercing his heart.
Tavern's body convulsed violently as blood spilled from the corners of his mouth, his eyes wide with disbelief. He truly thought he could escape, but in the end, he still died at the hands of Lin Kuang.
After finishing off Tavern, Lin Kuang lowered his hands and stood tall. The slaughter had vented the anger in his heart, leaving him calm.
Exhaling lightly, Lin Kuang walked over to the tree, pulled Nameless from the trunk, and slid it back into its sheath at his waist. He glanced at the corpses littering the ground before calmly driving away. Some deaths warranted no sympathy.

By the time Lin Kuang returned to Lin Guo'er's house, it was already three in the morning, with dawn not far off.
He got out of the car and entered the living room to find Lin Guo'er and Liu Shilin curled up together on the sofa, fast asleep. Seeing their captivating sleeping faces, Lin Kuang couldn't help but smile.
"You two silly girls," he muttered. "Didn't I tell you not to wait up for me?"
He walked over, gently lifted Lin Guo'er into his arms, and carried her upstairs. After placing her in her room, he went back down and did the same for Liu Shilin.
With both of them settled, Lin Kuang finally took off his clothes and washed up. Afterward, instead of going to either of their rooms, he returned to the living room, sat down on the sofa, and began to restore the True Qi he had expended. The battle had taken a considerable toll on him. In an instant, he entered a state of Cultivation.
「The night passed peacefully.」
Around five in the morning, Lin Kuang emerged from his meditation. Though he hadn't slept, he felt completely revitalized.
After checking the time, he took a shower, changed his clothes, and drove to Yang Ruotong's place. It was just past six o'clock. Yang Ruotong was busy in the kitchen, and little Xinxin was not yet awake.
"Good morning, Sister Tong," Lin Kuang greeted with a smile, leaning against the kitchen doorway.
"Good morning. You're here?" Yang Ruotong replied, smiling back at him.
"Yeah. Hasn't Xinxin woken up yet? Won't she be late for school?" he asked, his eyes tracing her charming figure.
Yang Ruotong shot him an amused, exasperated look. "You silly goose, it's Saturday. Xinxin doesn't have school, so the little girl is still sleeping."
"Uh..." Lin Kuang paused, realizing he had completely forgotten. "Ahem, it's already Saturday? I guess I completely lost track of the days," he said, a little embarrassed.
"You've gotten all muddled. Go on, go sit down. You can have breakfast here," Yang Ruotong said with a laugh.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang grinned and nodded. "Of course. Sister Tong, how is Ruoxi doing?"
"Mhm, she called last night. She seemed to be in a very good mood," Yang Ruotong said happily.
Lin Kuang also smiled and nodded, relieved that she was doing well. His gaze shifted from Yang Ruotong to the staircase. Figuring Xinxin wouldn't be waking up anytime soon, an impish thought crossed his mind.
With a sly grin, he walked up behind Yang Ruotong and wrapped his arms around her.
Her body shivered slightly, and a lovely blush crept across her cheeks.
"Sister Tong, I've missed you so much. What should I do?" Lin Kuang murmured, his restless hands beginning to roam playfully over her body.
Unable to resist, Yang Ruotong's body began to sway. "You bad guy… then hurry up."
