Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 257: Reap What You Sow
The two stone-faced killers stared at Lin Kuang, their eyes wide with disbelief. They couldn't seem to process that they had just been taken out so easily—two birds with one stone.
Lin Kuang watched with utter indifference as he suddenly drew his sword, Nameless.
The gleaming blade of Nameless was spotless, bearing not a single trace of blood. It was a treasured sword, a deadly weapon that killed without leaving a mark.
Everyone froze at the sight, except for Fan Ting. Her expression remained unchanged, for she knew full well that the two stone-faced killers were no match for Lin Kuang.
Seeing this, she actually felt a sense of relief, accompanied by an inexplicable joy she couldn't understand herself.
Sheathing Nameless, Lin Kuang stepped toward Fan Long. He found the man utterly disgusting. If Fan Long tried anything, Lin Kuang wouldn't hesitate to kill this supposed "true member" of the Fan Family.
After all, he had already told Fan Sheng that if the Fan Family went too far, he would not hesitate to kill.
Fan Sheng understood this perfectly but could say nothing. He could only pray silently that Fan Long wouldn't do anything foolish.
But Fan Sheng's prayers seemed to go unanswered. Fan Long, snapping back to his senses, immediately seized Liu Shilin by the throat. The slightest pressure would be enough to kill her.
"Stop! Come any closer and I'll kill her!"
As Lin Kuang advanced step by step, fear filled Fan Long's eyes. To him, Lin Kuang was like a Demon King, instilling a profound terror. He could feel the looming threat of death, and he panicked.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang obediently halted. But as he looked at Liu Shilin's pale face, his gaze grew even colder.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Lin Kuang asked indifferently, his icy gaze fixed on Fan Long.
At his words, Fan Long's expression grew savage, and his eyes burned with killing intent.
"I'm dead certain," Fan Long snarled. "Take one more step, and she dies. And so does she!"
With that, Fan Long's other hand shot out and clamped around the Witch's throat. Her face instantly flushed red, and fear flashed in her beautiful eyes.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang's gaze turned glacial. A potent killing intent brewed in his chest. Fan Long had truly enraged him. For that, he would die.
"Very well, Fan Long. You have truly angered me. Today, you will die," Lin Kuang said, his voice devoid of warmth, the murderous intent in his eyes intensifying.
"Haha, me? Die? You think you can kill me? Dream on!" Fan Long laughed maniacally. "King of the Underworld, kill yourself! Right now! Immediately! Or I'll kill them! Hurry up!"
As he spoke, Fan Long's face grew even more twisted. A perverse, utterly revolting pleasure danced in his eyes.
"Kill myself?" Lin Kuang repeated, his tone laced with scorn.
"Lin Kuang, don't listen to him! Don't kill yourself! Live! Live and avenge us!" Liu Shilin cried out, tears streaming down her face. She loved Lin Kuang and didn't want him to die.
"That's right, you idiot, don't fall for it!" the Witch shouted, her face flushed from the lack of air. "Even if you kill yourself, this monster won't let us go! Don't die!" Her beautiful eyes were fixed on Lin Kuang, a flash of affection showing through her fear.
"Tsk, tsk. Such touching devotion. I love it, haha! I just love torturing people like you. The feeling is incredible," Fan Long sneered, laughing like a madman. He tightened his grip slightly, and the Witch's delicate face immediately flushed as her breath caught in her throat.
But her beautiful eyes, gazing at Lin Kuang, were filled with utter tenderness. In that moment, the Witch had nothing left to hide. Although she herself didn't know when she had started to fall for him, at this moment, she truly loved him; of this she was certain.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang seemed to panic. "Wait! Stop!" he shouted hastily. "I'll kill myself!" His voice was laced with helplessness, along with intense indignation and rage.
Hearing this, Fan Long, who had been about to kill the Witch, paused. His mocking gaze fell upon Lin Kuang. "The King of the Underworld is really something, willing to throw away his life for a woman. Very good. I admire that," he said, his expression savage. "Go on, then. Let me see how you die."
Liu Shilin tried to speak, but Fan Long's grip on her throat was too tight, strangling any words. Both women could only shake their heads desperately at Lin Kuang as tears streamed from their eyes like kites with their strings cut.
A sharp pain lanced through Lin Kuang's heart. He looked at the two women, his gaze filled with a tenderness they had never seen before. "Don't be afraid," he said, a faint smile on his lips. "It's going to be okay."
At the same time, Lin Kuang brought Nameless to his own throat. In the next instant, he snapped his head to the side as if to cut his own neck.
But at that very moment, the tip of Nameless was secretly aligned with Fan Long's brow.
Then, Lin Kuang's right palm slapped the hilt of the sword.
Like an arrow loosed from a bow, Nameless shot toward Fan Long's brow with lightning speed.
Simultaneously, Lin Kuang's legs exploded with power, launching his body forward like a cannonball right behind the speeding sword.
Though arrogant, Fan Long had kept his eyes glued on Lin Kuang. When he saw Lin Kuang place Nameless against his own neck and twist his head as if committing suicide, he had let out a secret sigh of relief. But in that same instant, everything changed.
Faced with the lightning-fast blade, Fan Long had no chance to dodge; it was simply too fast.
He could only watch helplessly as Nameless pierced his forehead. The blade sank into his skull until only the hilt protruded.
At that moment, Lin Kuang reached Liu Shilin and the Witch.
Without a second thought, he swept the two women into his arms. Behind them, Fan Long's body collapsed to the ground, dead.
This sudden turn of events left Liu Shilin and the Witch completely stunned.
Pulled into a familiar, safe embrace, the two women were dazed for a moment before clinging to Lin Kuang's body tightly, their relief and terror finally erupting in a flood of tears.
Lin Kuang said nothing, simply patting their backs gently as he comforted them.
Seeing this, hesitation flickered across Fan Sheng's face. He considered taking this opportunity to kill Lin Kuang, who was completely exposed.
But after a moment's thought, he decided against it. He wasn't confident he could kill Lin Kuang in a single strike. If he failed, the Fan Family would face endless, terrifying trouble. So, he did not act.
Fan Sheng didn't leave, however. He simply stood there, watching silently.
A full ten minutes passed before Liu Shilin and the Witch's sobs finally subsided. They looked up at Lin Kuang, their eyes red and swollen, their expressions so full of grievance and sorrow that his heart ached with tenderness.
