Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 233: This Sword is Nameless
Upon receiving the package, Lin Kuang's right arm noticeably sank. The parcel was incredibly heavy, weighing at least a hundred pounds!
Feeling the weight, a flash of surprise crossed Lin Kuang's eyes once again.
This is indeed a fine item. I'm getting quite excited!
With that thought, Lin Kuang unwrapped the outer layer of the package to reveal a deerskin sheath, from which protruded an ancient hilt. The hilt was engraved with ancient patterns, giving it an extraordinary appearance. Although the blade itself remained unseen, the hilt alone was clearly a treasure.
Gripping the hilt, Lin Kuang drew the sword.
As the blade left the scabbard, it flashed with a dazzling light. A chill emanated from it, seeming to lower the surrounding temperature by several degrees. Lin Kuang gave his wrist a slight shake, and the blade trembled, emitting a low hum.
"A good sword! What a magnificent Soft Sword!" Lin Kuang exclaimed with immense joy. He had spent only ten million on it—a complete steal!
Hearing Lin Kuang's words, a proud expression appeared on the middle-aged man's face, but it soon turned bitter. If it weren't for dire straits, he wouldn't have sold the sword, but he had no choice. As the saying goes, even a hero can be brought to his knees by a lack of money, and his daughter was severely ill, desperately needing this sum.
"It is indeed a fine sword." The middle-aged man's next words shocked Lin Kuang even more. "The deerskin sheath is lined with Golden Silkworm Thread. You can fasten it to your waist and keep the sword with you at all times."
Silkworm Thread? That was a legendary treasure, famed for being impervious to blades and spears. Such material was incredibly rare, yet this sword's scabbard was woven from it. How could Lin Kuang not be thrilled?
With this in mind, Lin Kuang sheathed the Soft Sword and bowed deeply to the middle-aged man once more. "Sir, thank you!"
The middle-aged man shook his head. "I warned you before. This sword will bring you trouble. I hope you can keep it safe. If you can't, it's better to let it go than to lose your life."
"Don't worry, sir. Where the sword is, I am!" Lin Kuang said with the utmost seriousness, looking the man in the eye.
He left the second half of the phrase unsaid, but the middle-aged man knew the rest: if the sword perishes, so does the man.
"Haha, good! Very good! I hope you can protect this sword. May we meet again if fate allows!" the middle-aged man said with a smile.
Then, with a powerful push from his toes, he sprang upwards, leaping three meters high before landing outside the crowd.
"Sir, please wait! Does this sword have a name?" Lin Kuang couldn't help but call out as the man was about to leave.
The middle-aged man paused and declared loudly, "This sword is Nameless!"
After speaking, he strode on and disappeared into the crowd moments later.
Lin Kuang gazed quietly at the sword and murmured, "This sword is Nameless! Nameless... Nameless... That's right. You don't need a name, because no name could be worthy of you!"
"Indeed. Calling it Nameless is the highest form of respect for this sword," Fan Sheng commented from the side, his tone laced with envy.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang turned and smiled at him. "Yes, Nameless is the greatest acknowledgment for a sword like this."
As he spoke, Lin Kuang looked at Fan Sheng with curiosity, eager to learn his identity. Seeming to read his mind, Fan Sheng offered a slight smile. "There's no rush. We will surely have a chance to meet again."
"Good. I look forward to it," Lin Kuang replied with a smile before taking Lin Guo'er's hand and turning to leave.
Watching Lin Kuang's departing figure, Fan Sheng felt a bit troubled, but his mood was surprisingly good regardless.
"Second Brother, he's very strong," Fan Bin said gravely once Lin Kuang was gone.
"Yes, he is indeed," Fan Sheng replied with a smile.
"Are you confident you can beat him?" Fan Bin pressed, his voice heavy.
"No. If it was a fifty-fifty chance before, now that he has the Nameless Sword, I stand no chance," Fan Sheng admitted. Yet, even knowing he was no match for Lin Kuang, the smile on his face remained as intense as ever.
"Then why didn't you just snatch the sword earlier, Second Brother? With the three of us, don't tell me we couldn't take a single sword!" Fan Ting piped up, sounding displeased.
"Well, that's hardly a certainty," Fan Sheng muttered, his gaze fixed on the direction Lin Kuang had gone. At his words, the expressions on Fan Bin's and Fan Ting's faces changed drastically.
By now, Lin Kuang had already wrapped the Nameless Sword around his waist. Hidden beneath his T-shirt, it left no noticeable bulge.
"Lin Kuang, did it seem like those two men and that woman were here for you?" Lin Guo'er asked with some confusion, looking at him.
Lin Kuang didn't hide it, just smiling and nodding. "Mm, it does look that way."
"Why?" Lin Guo'er pressed.
Lin Kuang simply shook his head and smiled slightly, showing no signs of worry. "I'm not sure. We'll find out eventually."
Lin Guo'er was left speechless. She couldn't decide if Lin Kuang's courage came from his incredible skill or if he was just completely reckless.
When Lin Kuang and Lin Guo'er reappeared at the spot where they had agreed to meet Liu Shilin and the Witch, the two women finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"What took you so long?" the Witch asked irritably, worried that something had happened to him.
Lin Guo'er then recounted the story of Lin Kuang buying the sword.
Hearing it, the Witch's eyes went wide as she stared at Lin Kuang as if he were an idiot. "Are you a moron? You spent ten million on a piece of scrap metal?"
"What do you know?" Lin Kuang said irritably. "Even if I sold you, you wouldn't be worth as much as this sword."
The Witch immediately flew into a rage. Baring her teeth and claws, she charged after him. "You bastard! I dare you to say that again!" she shouted furiously.
"So what if I say it twice? Catch me if you can!"
As the Witch ran, her ample bosom bounced violently, and Lin Kuang couldn't help but steal a few more glances.
This girl is so stacked; it's impossible not to like it!
While Lin Kuang and the Witch were playing around, a plane landed at East Sea Airport. As passengers steadily disembarked, two elderly men dressed in black were the last to emerge.
Stepping off the plane, the leading elder took a deep breath of the East Sea air, a somewhat intoxicated expression on his face.
"East Sea... It's been a long time," the second eldest of the Six Elders of Dark Blood murmured. "We started our journey here, and now we return to kill. Is this some kind of cycle?"
"Second Brother, let's go," said the fifth elder of Dark Blood.
