Chapter 184: Chapter 184: Everybody’s Happy

"Uncle Lin, there’s no need to be so formal. Please, have a seat," Lin Kuang said with a smile. Although he knew Lin Wanli felt somewhat apologetic toward him, Lin Wanli was, after all, Lin Guo’er’s father, and his politeness made Lin Kuang feel a bit embarrassed.

Hearing this, Lin Wanli quickly sat down, took a cigarette from the coffee table, and offered one to Lin Kuang.

"Lin Kuang, care for a smoke?" Lin Wanli asked with a smile.

Lin Kuang nodded and accepted it with a smile. Lin Wanli then lit it for him before lighting one for himself.

"Ahem, Lin Kuang, I’m sorry about the other night. Please don’t take it to heart," Lin Wanli said, looking very embarrassed.

At that moment, Lin Wanli was incredibly grateful to Lin Kuang. If it weren’t for him, Li Jiachen would never have agreed to cooperate.

"You’re being too polite, Uncle Lin. What you did back then wasn’t wrong, considering the circumstances. How could I possibly hold it against you?" Lin Kuang said with a laugh.

Hearing this, Lin Wanli breathed a quiet sigh of relief. If Lin Kuang had harbored any resentment, things would have been very difficult. Thankfully, Lin Kuang was more magnanimous than he had expected.

The two continued to chat for a while until Lin Guo’er, wearing an apron, emerged from the kitchen.

"Dad, Lin Kuang, dinner’s ready," Lin Guo’er announced with a beaming smile.

Seeing Lin Guo’er in that apron, I can’t help but look twice. She has a special charm right now... how should I put it? She has the air of a perfect wife.

"Come on, Lin Kuang. Dinner’s ready. It’s just some simple home cooking. I hope you don’t mind," Lin Wanli said with a smile.

Lin Kuang nodded with a smile and stood up, following Lin Wanli and Lin Guo’er into the dining room.

In the dining room, a beautiful middle-aged woman was busy bringing dishes to the table. Although she was older, she still possessed a mature charm. It was easy to imagine she must have been a great beauty in her youth.

"Come, Lin Kuang, let me introduce you," Lin Wanli said, pulling Chen Yuting over with a smile. "This is Guo’er’s mother, Chen Yuting. Just call her Auntie."

Upon hearing this, Lin Kuang quickly bowed politely. "Hello, Auntie Chen," he said with a smile.

"Hello, Lin Kuang. Please, take a seat. You two chat for a bit. I still have one more dish on the stove," Chen Yuting said with a smile, her beautiful eyes sizing him up. She seemed quite pleased with this prospective son-in-law.

"That’s alright, Auntie. You shouldn’t have made so much food. We won’t be able to finish it all," Lin Kuang said with a smile after sitting down.

"Oh, I didn’t make all of this. It was this girl, Guo’er. She insisted on making more," Chen Yuting said with a laugh, glancing at Lin Guo’er, which made her daughter’s pretty face flush a charming, rosy red.

"Mom..." Lin Guo’er whined, her face burning as she shyly averted her beautiful eyes.

"Alright, alright, you two chat. The soup in the pot will boil dry if I don’t get back," Chen Yuting said with a laugh before turning to leave.

"You two talk for a bit. I’ll go help out," Lin Wanli said with a smile before heading into the kitchen, clearly creating some alone time for the young couple.

"My dear Guo’er, it seems my future mother-in-law is quite satisfied with me," Lin Kuang said with a mischievous smile, taking her small hand in his.

Hearing that, Lin Guo’er shot him an exasperated look. "She’s not your mother-in-law yet!"

"Oh? Does that mean you’re planning on finding someone else?" Lin Kuang teased, pulling her into his embrace.

"Ah, you jerk! Let me go! They’ll be back any minute," Lin Guo’er squirmed in his arms, her charming face flushing a deep crimson.

"What’s there to be afraid of? You’re my wife, after all," Lin Kuang said with a grin, his restless hands roaming her delicate body. She trembled under his touch, her beautiful eyes growing dewy.

She’s just too irresistible. I wish I could make her mine right here and now.

"You scoundrel, let go! If... if you want to... we can do *that* tonight," she stammered, her face crimson and her heart pounding with shyness.

"But I want you now. I have something on later; I have to leave by eight," Lin Kuang murmured, his hand stealthily slipping under her clothes and cupping one of her full, round breasts.

A powerful tremor shot through Lin Guo’er’s body. An indescribable feeling surged through her, and her pretty face flushed so red it looked like it could drip blood.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang chuckled. "Guo’er, how about we go upstairs first?" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"No way, you big jerk! Let me go! Wait... wait for another time. We really can’t right now." Lin Guo’er gazed at him, her glistening eyes pleading for him to stop. This really wasn’t the time.

Alright, enough teasing. I was just joking anyway. How could we possibly do something like that right now?

Just then, footsteps sounded from the kitchen. Lin Wanli and Chen Yuting were about to come out.

Thinking this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but grin as he released her. "Heh, Guo’er, your mom and dad are coming out. Don’t give us away."

Hearing this, Lin Guo’er shot him a fierce glare before standing up, hastily straightening her clothes, and fleeing the dining room. She needed a moment to compose herself. If her parents saw her looking like this, with their experience, they would know exactly what had just happened.

When Lin Wanli and Chen Yuting entered the dining room with more dishes, they noticed Lin Guo’er was gone. "Where did that girl go?" they asked, curious.

"Guo’er just stepped out," Lin Kuang said, pretending to think for a moment. "I’m not sure where she went. Maybe to get drinks?"

"Oh, that’s right. We forgot about those," Lin Wanli said with a laugh. "Guo’er, bring a bottle of liquor over!" he called out.

A moment later, Lin Guo’er returned, carrying some soft drinks and a bottle of liquor.

Lin Wanli opened the bottle and personally poured a glass for Lin Kuang. "Lin Kuang, I don’t have any fine liquor, but I hope you don’t mind."

"Not at all, Uncle Lin. This is great," Lin Kuang replied with a smile, and the four of them began to eat.

It was a simple family meal filled with casual conversation. For the most part, Lin Wanli was trying to get a measure of Lin Kuang’s attitude, while Chen Yuting observed him constantly. It was just as the old saying goes: the more a mother-in-law looks at her son-in-law, the more she likes what she sees. That was certainly the case for Chen Yuting. She found Lin Kuang’s conversation and his manners to be impeccable, leaving her, the prospective mother-in-law, very satisfied.

After a few rounds of drinks and several courses, they all moved from the table to the living room to chat.

At seven-thirty, Lin Kuang announced he had to leave. He had a very important mission at nine o’clock that he couldn’t afford to be late for. Lin Wanli and Chen Yuting tried their best to persuade him to stay longer, but Lin Kuang genuinely had something to do. He politely refused their hospitality and drove away.
