Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 127: Forcibly Entering Xiangya (6th Update)
Driving Duoduo’s Mazda, Lin Kuang sped toward the address provided by Cui Zhongsha. Nearly forty minutes later, he arrived at the residential community where Guo An, the director of the Quality Supervision Bureau, lived. He parked the car downstairs from Guo An’s building, got out, and headed straight for the eighth floor.
In no time, Lin Kuang reached the eighth floor and found apartment 802. Looking at the locked door, Lin Kuang placed his palm over the keyhole and channeled True Qi from his body into the lock. In an instant, the door clicked open. He walked in casually, as if he were returning to his own home.
Once inside, Lin Kuang took out his cell phone, pressed a few buttons, and then pocketed it. It was not yet seven o’clock. Guo An was sitting on the sofa watching the news, while clattering sounds echoed from the kitchen—clearly, someone was preparing a meal.
Sensing something, Guo An, who had been focused on the news, suddenly looked up and saw Lin Kuang walking in. The moment he saw the intruder, Guo An was taken aback. His surprise quickly turned to anger. "Who are you? How did you get in here!" he shouted, jumping up from the sofa.
Seeing his reaction, Lin Kuang smiled faintly. "Director Guo, relax. Don’t get so worked up. Let’s sit down and talk." With that, he casually sat down on the sofa opposite Guo An.
Just then, a beautiful woman emerged from the kitchen, looking at Lin Kuang and her husband with confusion. "Dear, who is this?" she asked.
"Ah, it’s nothing. You can go back to what you were doing. He’s a friend of mine," Guo An said with a forced smile.
"Oh, well in that case, I’ll make a few extra dishes," the woman said with a genuine smile before returning to the kitchen.
"Let’s talk in the bedroom," Guo An said, standing up and leading the way. Lin Kuang didn’t object and followed him into the room.
Once the door was closed, they both sat down. Guo An broke the silence. "Who exactly are you? What do you want with me?"
"You’re quite forgetful, Director Guo. Have you already forgotten what your Quality Supervision Bureau did today?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile, though his eyes watched Guo An with cold indifference.
At his words, Guo An shuddered. A flash of panic appeared in his eyes, but he struggled to maintain a composed expression. "Are you referring to the Yashi Company matter?" he asked.
"Correct. Cui Zhongsha has already told me everything," Lin Kuang said coolly, looking directly at Guo An. "Now, Director Guo, I imagine you’ll talk too, right?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Talk? Talk about what? I don’t know anything! We were just conducting a routine inspection!" Guo An said, trying his best to sound composed.
"Is that so? Then why did Cui Zhongsha say that you ordered him to plant the carcinogenic dye in Yashi’s production workshop? Don’t you think you owe me an explanation?" Lin Kuang asked, his smile never wavering.
Hearing this, Guo An jolted and could no longer feign composure. "I... I... I didn’t say anything! Stop trying to frame me!" he blustered, his voice a mix of rage and fear.
"Director Guo, I’m not here to listen to your lies. I want the truth." As he spoke, Lin Kuang drew a Desert Eagle from behind him and pressed the cold, black muzzle against Guo An’s forehead. "My patience is limited, Director Guo. If you want to die, feel free to keep lying."
At that moment, the temperature in the room seemed to plummet. A shiver ran down Guo An’s spine. Feeling the cold metal against his forehead, he couldn’t help but swallow hard as fear took root in his heart.
Lin Kuang said nothing. He simply stood before Guo An, waiting quietly.
Time ticked by. The atmosphere in the room grew unbearably heavy and oppressive, making it hard for Guo An to breathe. By now, his forehead was covered in sweat.
DRIP. DROP. The sound of his sweat hitting the floor was sharp and distinct, amplifying the terror in the room.
After a full five or six minutes, Guo An could no longer stand it. "I’ll talk! I’ll talk, I’ll tell you everything!" he blurted out, and recounted everything that had happened.
The story was much as Lin Kuang had surmised: it was all Chu Zhongtian’s doing. Just the night before, Chu Zhongtian had given Guo An a heads-up, asking him to find a way to deal with Yashi. Since Guo An was with the Quality Supervision Bureau, his agency was the most appropriate one to intervene. Feeling he had no choice, Guo An didn’t dare defy an order from Chu Zhongtian. He devised a plan to frame the company and tasked Cui Zhongsha with carrying it out. Cui Zhongsha, in turn, contacted Chen Ruilian and paid her a significant sum of money. Motivated by greed, Chen Ruilian betrayed her company and spread the carcinogenic dye throughout the warehouse and workshop the previous night. That was the inside story of how Yashi was framed.
Having gotten the confession, Lin Kuang left, satisfied. As he was leaving, he gave Guo An a small warning: if Guo An dared to tell Chu Zhongtian what happened, Lin Kuang would come back to finish him.
Weighing his options, Guo An caved. Offending Chu Zhongtian might lead to a demotion at worst—he probably wouldn’t even be fired. In any case, even losing his job was infinitely better than losing his life.
Lin Kuang drove towards the Xiangya Club. Now that he had the full story, it was time to pay Chu Zhongtian a visit. He arrived at the club around seven-thirty. After parking his car, he walked toward the entrance.
"Sir, please show me your membership card," a staff member said respectfully.
"Tell Chu Zhongtian my name is Lin Kuang. I’m here to see him," Lin Kuang said coolly, glancing at the man.
"Ah, I’m sorry, sir. Without an appointment, I’m afraid Young Master Chu doesn’t have time," the staff member replied, attempting to be diplomatic.
"So, you want me to force my way in?" Lin Kuang asked with a smirk.
"This is a private establishment, sir. If you attempt to force your way in, we have the right to subdue you and hand you over to the police," the staff member said, his tone turning cold.
"Is that so? Then let’s try it," Lin Kuang replied, his voice chilling as he lashed out with a hand chop.
The staff member was stunned. He hadn’t expected Lin Kuang to strike so suddenly. While the staffer had some skills, compared to Lin Kuang, he was like a firefly next to the brilliant moon. A single hand chop was all it took to knock him unconscious.
Seeing this, another staff member rushed over and threw a punch at Lin Kuang’s abdomen.
A look of disdain crossed Lin Kuang’s lips. With a slight push from his left foot, he sidestepped the attack with ease. The next moment, he chopped out again, striking the man on the back of his neck. The man grunted once before collapsing, unconscious.
