Unrivaled Martial Emperor-Chapter 1517 - Hope
“Brothers, kill them all!”
Following the one-eyed man’s command, the marauders immediately attacked, howling like vicious wolves.
Altogether, the marauders didn’t have high cultivation levels. However, the leading one-eyed man and his second-in-command were both third-level Immortal Platform experts. They also had a handful of first and second-level Immortal Platform experts. As for the others, they were all below the immortal realm.
At his peak, Chen Fan could have wiped out this entire unit of marauders alone if they had dared to mess with him.
However, for Gongsun Jing and the others, these marauders were big trouble. Compared to the marauder, they were at a numerical disadvantage, as they only had a dozen or so people. And, unfortunately, they didn’t have an advantage in terms of cultivation either.
Gongsun Jing and Ma Xinglong were both third-level Immortal Platform experts. But they only had five people in the first or second-level Immortal Platform realm, and the others were below the Immortal realm.
“Those in the Immortal realm, charge forward with me. As for the others, stay behind and guard the swordfish ship!” Gongsun Jing immediately commanded as he raised his spear and charged forth.
Defending the swordfish ship to the end was clearly not a solution.
The swordfish ship was a flying artifact with average defensive powers. If they simply stood their ground, the marauders would soon breach its defenses, perhaps even destroy the swordfish ship.
“Kill!”
Ma Xinglong and the other Immortal Platform realm experts showed no fear. They took out their respective weapons and followed Gongsun Jing’s charge.
As for the remaining people below the Immortal realm, they channeled their cultivation to support the swordfish ship’s defenses.
“Hoh, you’re not going to hide in your tortoise shell, huh? Very well, eat my saber!”
With a mocking shout, the one-eyed marauder met Gongsun Jing head-on, his aura flaring as he struck. Both fighters, at the peak of the third-level Immortal Platform, collided in a clash so fierce it seemed to warp the very air. Primeval qi burst forth in torrents, sky and earth seeming to split.
Ma Xinglong took on the second-in-command of the marauders. Both of them were in the early-stage third-level Immortal Platform realm. Although their battle, though less earthshaking, was no less intense for it.
These four, all third-level Immortal Platform experts, became the fulcrum on which victory would tilt. Around them, first and second-level fighters clashed in quick succession, each finding their rival.
“Brothers, strike! Break their tortoise shell!”
Twenty or so marauders below the Immortal realm struck as they howled, unleashing streams of law power and attacking the swordfish ship’s protective barrier.
Currently, only a handful of people below the Immortal realm were on the swordfish ship. All of them were channeling their powers furiously, their foreheads covered in sweat, maintaining the defenses of the swordfish ship.
If the barrier fell, their numbers would hardly matter; the attackers, outnumbering them by more than three to one, would sweep them away.
“Hahahaha, you six cowards with no balls, come fight us one on one if you have the guts. We’ll definitely not gang up on you!”
Taunts, crude and mocking, rang out as attacks rained down, trying to goad the Rolling Thunder Mountain Manor’s six defenders into a mistake.
As the battle intensified, the comatose Chen Fan slowly regained consciousness, his mind slowly piecing together what had happened.
“Was I saved? How incredibly lucky. Hmm? What’s going on? The people who saved me are being attacked...”
Chen Fan grasped his current predicament almost instantly.
He tried moving, but waves of sharp pain washed over him, making him break out in cold sweat and shiver.
“It hurts!”
Chen Fan couldn’t help but suck in a breath of cold air. He immediately focused inward to check on his condition, and his expression turned incredibly grave.
Even though he had taken a heavy dose of recovery elixirs before fainting, his wounds were far too grave. Survival would have been impossible for most, but his hidden reserves and powerful life force had pulled him through.
His condition was terrible. Cracks had even appeared on the Heaven and Earth Furnace. This had never happened before. Cultivation was impossible; he couldn’t funnel a sliver of energy into his techniques.
This is the most severe injury I’ve ever received. Who knows how long it’ll take for me to recover... Forget it, I’m already very lucky to have survived... Chen Fan sighed inwardly. Then, his gaze immediately sharpened.
Just you wait, Xuan Clan. When I attain enlightenment, I will annihilate your Xuan Clan! Chen Fan swore an oath in his heart.
His enemies had been thorough—an Immortal King sent, backed by Sage Xuan’s will. Had the Heavenly Punishment Elder’s immortal will not intervened, he would have died a hundred deaths. Vengeance would have to wait, but it would come. Chen Fan would remember, and the Xuan Clan would rue the day.
Glass-shattering sounds suddenly erupted beside his ears.
Crack, crack, crack...
The swordfish ship’s protective barrier finally could not hold on any longer under the furious attacks of twenty or so marauders and began to crack.
“Hahahaha, trying to stop us with just this tortoise shell? You’re too naïve. Break!”
A ninth-stage half-immortal roared excitedly. Law power surged from him, becoming the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
Boom, tch!
In an instant, the swordfish ship’s protective barrier shattered.
The six members supporting the protective barrier immediately received a backlash, as if they had been dealt a heavy blow, spewing large mouthfuls of fresh blood. Their complexions paled, and despair showed in their eyes.
“Brothers, charge! Slaughter them!”
Led by the ninth-stage half-immortal marauder, the twenty or so marauders were about to charge forth when a streak of light suddenly appeared before their eyes.
They had no time to react before a pain stabbed into their necks. Instantly, it felt as though all strength had seeped from their limbs.
“Ugh, ugh, ugh...”
The marauders pressed against their necks with both hands, but fresh blood still flowed from the gap between their fingers.
“Hmm?”
The six defenders, ready for a desperate last stand, gaped in shock. In an instant, their enemies had been slaughtered, but by whom?
Who did it?
All eyes turned to Chen Fan.
He had already sat up. His forehead was covered in sweat, and a look of pain appeared on his face.
When the swordfish ship’s defenses were broken through, Chen Fan had struck and killed the twenty or so marauders with a single slash. However, he felt as if he was about to fall apart, looking like he was in agony.
With a bitter smile, Chen Fan reflected. Just dispatching these non-immortal marauders nearly pushed him back into unconsciousness. How things had changed.
“Senior, you...”
The six members looked like they had just survived a calamity when they saw that Chen Fan had woken up and killed twenty or so marauders with a single strike. They were overjoyed. This was definitely an expert in the Immortal realm.
Now, there is hope for them!
