Chapter 419: Chapter 419: Palace Change (1)

Xiu Yang closed her eyes and covered her ears, solitary confinement torture, that was the cruelest punishment for women. Opening her eyes, she glared fiercely at the perverted Dugu Han and roared, "You sick pervert, even if I die today, I won’t let you succeed." She struggled to break free from his grasp and charged forward with all her might, but a woman’s strength was not as great as a man’s, even though he was injured.

The rebuffed Xiu Yang, unwilling to give up, tried to move forward again, but was caught by Zhuisu from behind.

"Strip her, gouge out her eyes, sever her kneecaps, I never want to see her again."

"Yes."

"Dugu Han you beast, you will not die a good death." Dragged out of the sleeping chamber, Xiu Yang was still struggling until she disappeared into the night.

In the palace adjacent to Yonghe Palace, there came a scream that everyone could hear. Some superstitious maids from each palace went out to inquire about the situation. On this night, some spent it in their dreams, others in curiosity, and still others in anxiety.

Xiaobai saw someone running out of a building and an eunuch following behind. Xiaobai leapt and trailed him all the way to the corner on the northern side of the Imperial Palace, where there was a small gate typically used for the delivery of vegetables and fruits, open at set times each day.

Xiaobai suspiciously watched as the man knocked several times on the gate. A person dressed as an eunuch then cracked it open slightly, looked behind to make sure there was no one suspicious, and then turned to leave the Imperial Palace.

Xiaobai climbed up the wall and only when he saw them walking away, did he himself jump down and follow closely behind.

They arrived at a common farmhouse within Capital City, where a man sat inside, his attire not that of a farmer.

"What’s the matter, didn’t I tell you not to signal unless it’s an emergency?" shouted the middle-aged man seated in the house, angrily chastising the eunuch who had slipped out.

"Master, I have urgent news to report," the eunuch knelt on the ground, not angered by the man’s scolding, but instead widened his eyes and urgently addressed the seated man.

Hou Wei, that was the man sitting in the place of honor, and this farmhouse was also bought by Hou Wei, with Song An being another of Hou Wei’s spies placed in the palace.

Hou Wei looked at the kneeling Song An, seeing his earnest demeanor did not seem to be lying: "Stand and reply."

"Thank you, master."

Song An stood up, approached Hou Wei, bent down, and whispered into his ear, "The Emperor has been made impotent by Concubine Jing."

"Impotent? Impotent how?" asked Hou Wei, frowning in confusion.

Song An gestured towards himself: "Made the same as a servant, unable to continue the lineage."

Hou Wei looked astonishedly at Song An, his emotions slightly agitated, "Are you speaking the truth?"

"This servant speaks nothing but the truth," Song An nodded firmly to Hou Wei.

Sitting in his chair, Hou Wei slowly digested the news brought by Song An. With a wave of his hand, Song An left the room and returned the same way he came, heading back to the palace.

Xiaobai crouched on the roof, his brows furrowed. Seeing no more movement inside the house, he stood up and rushed back to Summer Villa in the moonlight.

Inside the Imperial Palace, Zhuisu had the bodies at Yonghe Palace cleaned up, making sure there were no survivors, before reporting back to the Emperor.

At night, the lights were bright at the Summer Villa. Dugu Chen sat before the desk in the study, his expression solemn and his handsome, ink-dark brows deeply furrowed. His fingers tapped on the desk periodically, while Feng Xuxu also sat on a chair, her mind rapidly spinning.

"Issue an order for Feng Qing to go to the western estate. Keep an eye on Prince An, and if he makes any unusual moves, report it immediately," commanded Dugu Chen.

"Yes, master," Huang Yi bowed with a fist and left.
