Unlimited estates for rural beauty-Chapter 416: Invincible East VS Sunflower Manual (2)
In the depths of the mountains, Xiaobai was frantically grasping at an azure blue fox. After chasing the fox for most of the day, Xiaobai refused to believe it couldn’t be caught.
The little fox’s chest heaved violently as it stopped in its tracks and glared with its sly eyes at the tiger relentlessly pursuing it from behind, mouth agape and tongue slightly protruding, gasping for air.
Xiaobai, unblinking, fixed his tiger eyes on the fox that was but a stone’s throw away, knowing that it was at the end of its strength. Without giving it a chance to recover, Xiaobai pounced aggressively, but the little fox, light as a feather, dodged Xiaobai’s attack with a swift sidestep.
Xiaobai bristled with irritation, anguished head hanging low, eyes lifted in challenge as he pounced once again. The little fox tried to evade, but this time landed right in Xiaobai’s clutches.
With a smile, Xiaobai peered down at the struggling little fox in his embrace, unafraid of its sharp teeth and fierce mouth, allowing it to bite into him.
The little fox hadn’t expected the tiger to be so cunning, even more so than itself. But why didn’t any of its bites leave a single mark on its fur? Giving up the struggle, the fox resigned itself to its fate.
At that moment, Xiaobai’s body shook violently as he sensed an abnormal surge within the space. Lifting the little fox, he used the fastest speed he’d mastered over the years to return to the villa.
"Hey, Huang Yi, did you see that?" Xuan Yue, hiding in the tree, only glimpsed a white blur before it vanished.
Lost in thought, Huang Yi glanced back: "Saw what?"
"It seemed like a white tiger?"
"Are you okay? You’re not hallucinating because you’re shocked about the arranged marriage, are you?" Huang Yi rolled his eyes. If it really had been a white tiger, the soldiers patrolling the yard would have noticed it long ago — how could it get into the back courtyard? Besides, traps were laid all around the villa. Not even a rabbit, let alone a white tiger, could get in easily.
Xuan Yue gave Huang Yi a look and pouted. Had she been seeing things? Frowning, she shook her head and continued to squat on the tree for her night vigil.
When Xiaobai reached his room, he didn’t find Sister Feng, and only then did he flash into the space with a sense of afterthought.
Upon entering the space, he dropped the little fox from his mouth and ran towards the mountains. The little fox, startled by the sudden change of scenery, began to curiously wander about.
Looking left and right, there was nothing novel to play with. The little fox eyed the distant mountain and was about to run towards it when a thunderous rumbling sound came crashing through, the ground trembling fiercely. The little fox froze in shock and, once it came to its senses, started to bolt, trying to find a safe place, but discovered to its dismay that every corner was shaking violently.
Dugu Chen’s face changed instantly upon witnessing this scene. He scooped up Feng Xuxu and leaped away from the martial arts training ground in the mountains, rushing down the mountain quickly.
Feng Xuxu just stood bewildered for a few seconds before realizing she was being carried through the air. Having experienced the space upgrade before, she was now considerably more composed.
Once they reached the foot of the mountain, Dugu Chen found a relatively safe place to set down Feng Xuxu, vigilantly watching the surroundings.
"My husband, don’t worry, it’s just the space upgrading. It should be fine in a while."
Seeing that his wife wasn’t overly concerned, Dugu Chen gradually relaxed, though he still kept a watchful eye on his surroundings, fearing any sudden incidents.
Xiaobai had just reached the middle of the mountain slope when he saw his brother-in-law flying past with his sister. Turning back, he ran towards the villa, but it was too late. His body began to ache fiercely. Enduring the pain, he found a corner at the bottom of the mountain and started to focus his thoughts on Feng Xuxu.
Hearing Xiaobai’s pained cries, Feng Xuxu inquired about the situation and began running towards the mountains. Seeing this, Dugu Chen grabbed Feng Xuxu, "Where are you going? Didn’t you see it’s still shaking inside?" Dugu Chen’s voice turned stern with urgency.
