Chapter 204 - 200: The Walking Aberration

[3rd POV]

After a couple days of continuous training, teaching, and learning. The Legends had finally begun to work together as a proper team, using proficient strategy to fight with, and try and defeat Talia. Of course, none of that worked, but it had been impressive, with how fast they had all grown. Especially when it came to fighting speedsters, as she had begun to use the speed force in order to show them how to fight speedsters, should they need to in the future.

She had also started to train the members with powers, on how to properly use them, and how to be a bit more creative in regards to their uses. As that was the biggest problem when it came to them and the way they were using them, the lack of creativity, which was holding them back from their true potential when it came to their powers, ESPECIALLY when it came to Firestorm, someone with an incredibly powerful ability, that they barely even used.

During these few days, Talia had also produced a serum for Sara to consume, it was pretty much the same as the super soldier serum that Steve Rogers was infused with in the MCU, giving her increased physical capabilities, intelligence, and other bonuses that were important to someone like her. She hadn't given it to her yet, as she planned on waiting until after she deemed the woman as ready.

She had also done a bit of work on Mick's serum as well, as she planned on making it something similar to Extremis, but not as powerful. It would basically give him minor resistance to fire, a bit of fire manipulation, and some decent regenerative powers, nothing too crazy really. It would be more than enough for a man like him though.

Besides that, she had continued to relax, while giving Sara training in regards to leading on their own time, instead of doing it while the others were there, making it a lot more difficult to do, without it becoming awkward.

At the moment Talia was in the main room of the ship, sipping on some coffee as Stein had left to get the help of someone that could use the Medallion (which they had recovered back in the 60's) to find the other parts of the spear, with the part that they currently found, sitting in the Waverider.

Sitting and waiting for the man to get back, the sound of a feminine gasp entered her ears, as she turned to find Stein walking into the room, his daughter walking alongside him, looking around in awe.

"A temporal navigation vessel. I-I absolutely cannot believe it" Lily, his daughter said, looking around in awe, as she was basically in every nerds wet dream.

"Um, hello, who are you?" Nate asked, as he stepped out of the office, Amaya besides him as Lily turned to him in slight surprise.

"Oh, hi. Hi, I'm Lily. I'm-I'm Martin's daughter" Lily said somewhat awkwardly, realizing that her fathers friends didn't know she existed.

"We didn't know Martin had a daughter" Amaya said, equally as surprised as Nate was, as he spoke up.

"Yeah, you told me you didn't have kids" Nate added, glancing at Stein in confusion.

"Well, I like to keep my private life...private" Stein responded, obviously hiding something.

"There's private and there's lying. Sara, do you know about this?" Nate asked as Sara walked up from behind him, noticing Lily who was looking around the ship with an excited smile on her face, which Talia found to be amusing.

"Oh, I know all about this" Sara said, giving Stein a small glare.

Watching the interactions between the two, Talia sighed.

'This'll be messy'

Later, the entire team was standing in the room, Lily off on her own in the ship, as they conversed about her, and the fact that she was in fact, an aberration, which was normally problematic, but Talia knew that the girls existence wouldn't cause any problems, none that would damage the timeline or anything.

"What's the big deal? The professor didn't have a kid, now he does. Mazel Tov" Mick said looking at Stein who gave the man a small thank you.

"The big deal is Lily is a time aberration, which was all well and good, until you plucked her out of 2017 and showed her a timeship, which could cause more aberrations" Sara said with a serious look on her face, looking at Jax with a small glare.

"Hey what are you looking at me for?" Jax asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Because you were with him" Sara responded as if it was obvious.

"I quite simply missed my daughter. If Lily's presence on the Waverider posed any temporal issues, I'm sure Gideon or Talia would have detected them" Stein said, as Jax continued.

"Plus, Grey said that Lily could hook the medallion up with Gideon, so..." Jax trailed off, as Ray continued.

"Wait, she wants to try networking an ancient amulet with an advanced AI system? I'm totally helping" Ray said, laughing as if it was a dumb idea, only to turn serious towards the end, his scientific mind not being able to resist.

"Fine, then I would appreciate it if you...If none of you would reveal to her that she's an aberration" Stein said, staring at Mick who just looked back at him and asked "Why are you looking at me?"

"So where are we on identifying the speedster?"

"Well, since a certain someone refuses to tell us, I believe the technical term is nowhere" Sara said, giving Talia a glare as the woman just smirked.

"All the speedsters the Flash faced are either dead or his friends" Nate said.

"Or people we thought were his friends and are now dead" Amaya adding, knowing about the bag of worms that was, Zoom.

"Okay, we will figure this out. And in the meantime, you and Lily keep working with the amulet to figure out where the rest of the spear is" Sara said, as Stein nodded. Before the team could go their separate ways, Talia decided to speak up.

"I'd like to also add that Lily being an "Aberration" is not a bad thing" Talia said, as they all looked at her.

"How so? Aberrations cause more aberrations, which causes the time stream to unravel and can lead to the deaths of a lot of people, even time itself" Sara replied, as Talia shook her head.

"While it is true that that can happen, that only happens when a "Malicious" aberration is caused. If they aren't malicious, or are minor enough, they won't cause anymore. Afterall, do you really think that this ship can track all aberrations that happen 24/7? No, the Tardis could do that, but Gideon is not even remotely on the level of such a thing, no offense Gideon" Talia replied.

"None taken" Gideon said, as she turned to Stein.

"As much as you might hate it, Stein, I'd suggest you tell her about her being an Aberration, and make her understand that she IS your daughter. As for all of those memories you have regarding her? All those experiences? They're all real, and just because she didn't exist before, doesn't make them any less real. And it's about time you all stop looking at her as if she's a mistake or a problem, and instead look at her for what she is, a human girl who did nothing wrong" Talia said, her gaze traveling over the group with a glint in her eyes, not liking the fact that they were looking at the girl like she was a mistake or something, when she literally did nothing wrong, and was actually a rather sweet thing.

'Doesn't help she reminds me of Kara a bit, that, and she'd be the perfect fit for a companion if I ever went down the Doctors route' Talia thought, remembering how similar the girl was to some of the Doctors companions.

Sara, hearing this, looked down with a guilty look in her eyes, understanding that she was kind of acting like a bitch about the whole thing. Before she turned her gaze towards Stein, and spoke "I-I'm sorry, Stein, really. I guess the worry over the aberrations and the side effects they caused made me forget that this is your daughter we are talking about, not some evil monster or something"

"It's quite alright Sara, as I...I believe I am also in the wrong for not telling my daughter. And I...I believe it is time I do" Stein said with a hardened look in his eyes as he walked off, ready to talk to his daughter, and tell her the truth, the full truth.

Watching Stein walk off, Talia had a smile on her face, as she had one final thought on her mind as the team began to go their separate ways.

'...Good for you Stein...good for you'

That's the end of the Chapter!

Basically an intermission Chapter before more happens in the next few Chapters. This arc will likely be over within 5-7 Chapters, as it was never meant to be a long one. And then after that, it will be time for the Flash arc! Which means interaction with Savitar, and a lot of teaching (genuinely this time, as Barry desperately needs it lol).

Anyways, have a good day!
