Chapter 46: HAZEL WAS REALLY ANNOYED

Hazel couldn’t believe that she failed her own mission because she overslept. This was the most ridiculous thing that had ever happened to her. This didn’t even make sense.

And now she was bending her body over the toilet bowl, regurgitating her dinner, while Ranon was standing behind her, holding her hair up and massaging her back.

As usual, it took her more than five minutes to be done with this annoying routine, and once there was nothing more she could throw up, Hazel was tired, panting, and sweating.

Seriously, this moment was the time when she didn’t want anyone around her to witness this; alas, it was Ranon who was there to witness the mess.

"I am fine; I am fine." Hazel waved her hand and then went to cleanse her mouth after she flushed the toilet. She brushed her teeth so she wouldn’t feel that odd taste anymore while Ranon stood behind her. When she saw his reflection in the mirror, she widened her eyes in surprise. He looked mad. "Why? What happened?"

"Did this happen often?" Ranon crossed his arms in front of his chest; he was still only wearing a towel around his waist.

"Every morning," Hazel replied in a matter-of-fact tone, and Ranon’s expression looked even darker.

"Did you take the medicine? I thought it had stopped."

"No. The medicine didn’t work." Hazel waved her toothbrush and then cleansed her mouth. "It doesn’t have any effect on me." Obviously, it didn’t help with her morning sickness.

"We need to go to see another doctor." This was not even a suggestion. This was what they were going to do.

"Okay." Hazel didn’t mind it and watched Ranon walk out of the bathroom and then followed him. But then she felt there was something not right. "Wait, we will go to the hospital after breakfast, right?"

"No, we will go to the hospital now. You can have your breakfast on the way."

"Wait, what!?" No. She wanted to see Arlo! She missed her chance because she overslept last night, and now she would miss her chance again because she had morning sickness? No way! "But I am hungry..."

"I will ask someone to get a strawberry cake for you."

"How do you know that?" Hazel was puzzled for a moment but then remembered that he had put two bodyguards for her.

A strawberry cake was what she loved to eat in the morning; she would buy it at night and put it in the fridge to be eaten the next morning. That was what she had eaten for the past five days. Somehow, she was craving that sweet and sour taste of the strawberry.

"Can we have breakfast first, please?" Hazel went to Ranon and tugged his hand to get his attention. "Please? I am hungry. I just threw up everything inside my stomach, and now I feel dizzy."

"You are dizzy?" Ranon narrowed his eyes, which made Hazel realize she had said the wrong thing.

She really wanted to kick herself in the butt. Why didn’t her mind work like usual? It almost felt like her brain was slowing down on her.

"No, I meant. I am dizzy because I am hungry. I don’t want a strawberry cake." She explained it in a rush. "I want to eat breakfast. A real breakfast."

Ranon didn’t immediately give any response to that; he stared at her for a while, and Hazel took this opportunity to coax him.

"Please? I want to have breakfast in this hotel. I heard the breakfast here is good."

Hazel then used her last resort and tiptoed to kiss his cheek. She acted all sweet and nice until she got what she wanted.

"Fine."

Great! Now she could meet with Arlo and see how he was right now. Let’s see if she could get something out of him.

But ten minutes later, she regretted it.

Hazel stared at the food in front of her in disbelief. She blinked her eyes in annoyance, as if when she did that, the reality could alter into something else.

Ranon actually did book a private room. A fucking private room and canceled his breakfast with Arlo. Ranon let Ares be there on his behalf.

"Eat." Ranon looked at her because Hazel didn’t move and only stared at the various food in front of her.

"What is this? Are we going to have a family breakfast, or do you simply want to fatten me up?"

What was in front of Hazel was a full-course meal with the addition of a variation of the breakfast menu that this hotel could pull off.

"You said you don’t want to eat strawberry cakes. I don’t know what you want to eat. You only said you heard the food here is good."

"But it doesn’t mean you can waste your money on food!" Hazel felt a headache; she hated wasting food. She wanted to argue with him but then stopped herself. "You are right; I should have my strawberry cake. Let’s go to the hospital now."

Hazel only wanted to be done with today since she couldn’t get to meet with Arlo anyway.

Arthur was pissed because once again, he missed a detail of a mission. Usually, River would be the one who overlooked this kind of matter, but with her missing, he realized how much he had been relying on her.

"Fuck. Fuck."

Arthur paced back and forth in his study room, but before he realized it, he started to walk out and mindlessly go straight to River’s bedroom.

River would rarely sleep here ever since she moved out nine years ago. She had her own apartment, but even so, she would be rarely at home because she was always on a mission, or she would stay with Arlo.

Arthur couldn’t remember when the last time he entered this room was. But it was still tidy and neat. The servants would come to clean it once a week.

He looked at a picture of her when she was only five years old; that was the only picture in the room.
