Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 138: HAZEL’S ATTEMPT TO HACK INTO RANON’S PHONE
Chapter 138: HAZEL’S ATTEMPT TO HACK INTO RANON’S PHONE
And with that, Olivia watched as Marcus walked away, kissing her forehead softly before leaving her alone.
It was equally hard for Marcus to leave Olivia. He was determined to make things right with her, yet he couldn’t just abandon the crowd. There would be consequences for that, and he dreaded the thought of what might happen if he deflected his responsibilities.
With that uncertainty lurking in his mind, Marcus met up with Nelson, his longtime partner in every job they had tackled together.
At that moment, Marcus had completed three high-risk jobs, but there were still three more lined up. It was taking a toll on him, but what choice did he really have?
Nelson clapped a hand on Marcus’s back, pulling him back from his thoughts. "What’s with that long face? We need to get this job done. Come on."
Taking a deep breath, Marcus nodded, and they climbed into the truck.

Hazel couldn’t gather any information from Ranon; no matter what approach she attempted, he remained tight-lipped, refusing to disclose details about the events following the attack.
In her attempt to find out the truth, Hazel eventually recognized them as members of the Lozen organization. Despite this revelation, she felt something was amiss; it seemed unlikely that the Lozens would take on this job.
What bothered her even more was her knowledge that Arthur had previously declined a hit for the Leighton family.
Because of River’s disappearance as their main executor, furthermore, Arthur had faced several failed attempts, losing significant resources and personnel along the way.
Hazel found it was strange that he would take on the hit again unless something had changed dramatically.
"Oh, this is so annoying," Hazel grumbled under her breath.
She stared at her pancake. Ranon had woken her with breakfast in bed, a gesture that was undeniably sweet, and Renna had been gushing about how attentive Ranon had been with her.
In that matter, Hazel applauded him for his skill at winning over others’ sympathy, despite the fact that he didn’t even try.
Now, a week had passed since Ranon had confined her to the house, and during that time, she had resorted to watching TV, playing with her phone, and trying to extract information within her limited reach.
Unfortunately, her main source of information was still Ranon, and he was as unyielding as a stone, not budging an inch, not even offering a breath of information that could help her.
Hazel had gone through every method she could think of, from expressing her frustration to persuasion to seduction; nothing had worked.
"You need to focus on your pregnancy. This issue is my problem. It’s none of your business. We agreed to mind our own business, remember?"
That was what Ranon had said.
Such an annoying comment that once came out of Hazel’s mouth when he tried to figure out all the things about her, the same line Hazel used to deflect his inquiries about her and the mysteries surrounding her life.
"Oh, this is very frustrating," Hazel sighed again.
As she stared at the ceiling, an idea began to crystallize in her mind: she could hack into Ranon’s phones, since he obtained updates from his men through that device; all the crucial information would be there.
With this thought, Hazel resolved to visit Rize; this wouldn’t be his first rodeo hacking into someone else’s phone. River had asked for the same favor like this before.
With the plan forming in her mind, Hazel got out of bed and made her way to the kitchen, where she looked for Renna.
"Can you help me?" Hazel asked.
Renna looked up, her gaze softening as she replied, "What is it?"
Grayson hadn’t mentioned anything about Hazel taking Renna along with her, though he must have realized by now that Renna was no longer working for Rose’s family.
"I need to go out for something important. Can you help me to keep Nolu and Yara occupied?" Hazel was being very sweet.
Renna frowned; her initial softness was gone. "What? No, you cannot go without your bodyguards."
"Please."
"No, absolutely not," Renna said firmly. She shook her head. "No, absolutely not. After what happened with the Leighton family, how could you even think of going out without your bodyguards? If you do, I will tell Mr. Ranon."
Hazel narrowed her eyes, a small twitch at the corner of her lips revealing her amusement. It was annoying how quickly Renna seemed to flip sides regarding Ranon.
Just the other day, Renna had been worried about him, and now she seemed like one of his loyal pawns.
What an annoying man. She thought to herself. Ranon had a way of obtaining loyalty without even trying.
The next day, however, Hazel managed to convince Ranon to let her go out, claiming she wanted to shop for baby clothes.
To her surprise, he granted her permission, and she took Nolu and Yara along with her. But Hazel had other plans.
She had selected a shopping center conveniently located near a candy shop, where she intended to sneak away and meet Rize.
Little did she know, Ranon was already one step ahead of her.
He had instructed one of his men to follow his wife, ensuring she didn’t slip away unnoticed. As she approached the candy shop, Ranon’s man reported back.
"Yes, Sir, she is here. She just went inside the candy shop."
"Keep your eyes on her and don’t make contact," Ranon instructed.
However, he was oblivious to Hazel’s true intention to hack into his phone; he assumed she merely gathered information on the recent attack on the Leighton family.
Meanwhile, Hazel successfully met Rize at the candy shop, gathering the information she needed. Afterward, she rejoined Nolu and Yara at the shopping center, who greeted her with disapproving looks.
"Where have you been? At this rate, we are going to be fired, Mrs. Leighton," Yara scolded her, her arms crossed. "I really need this job to support my siblings. Please don’t do this."
It was a little bit weird to be addressed as Mrs. Leighton, but Hazel didn’t dislike it either.
Hazel flashed a grin in response. "Don’t worry! If Ranon decides to fire you, I will hire you myself. I can be a better boss than him."
Nolu and Yara exchanged glances, shaking their heads.
"Let’s go home. I am tired," Hazel said, leading the way.
"You only bought three pieces of clothing; do you think that’s enough?" Nolu asked, glancing at the shopping bags.
"Well, I can always buy more another day. There’s no need to rush." Hazel still needed the excuse of buying baby items to get out. Ranon was highly invested in their baby, and seemingly this was the only reason he would accept for the next few months.
Once they arrived home, Hazel turned to Renna, ready to ask for her help in preparing dinner for Ranon.
"What do you want to cook?" Renna asked, putting on her apron and readying herself. She was excited to see how Hazel was also trying to treat Ranon better.
"I would like to cook prawns," Hazel replied, excitement bubbling in her voice.
"Prawns?" Renna furrowed her brows. "But you have an allergy."
"This is for him, not for me." Hazel winked at her. "Prawn is his favorite food."
The two worked together, chopping and prepping everything necessary for a flavorful prawn dish.
As the aroma of garlic and spices filled the space, Hazel felt a sense of accomplishment blooming within her.
Oh, life was so simple and peaceful...
After several busy minutes, everything was ready, and they set the table together, Hazel adding decorative touches while Renna arranged the food.
When Ranon finally walked through the door, the delicious scents immediately drew his attention.
"I made prawns!" Hazel said excitedly, a bright smile on her face.
Renna discreetly excused herself, sensing her role was done for today. She entered another room with a satisfied smile, glad to see the bond between them strengthening.
This marriage would last for a long, long time... she thought.
Meanwhile, during the dinner, Ranon didn’t say much, which left Hazel feeling confused. "What is it? Why are you being so quiet?" Hazel tilted her head. "You don’t like the prawn?"
"No, it’s nice, but you don’t need to cook this," Ranon replied.
"Why not? This is your favorite, right? I thought you would like it."
"I like it, but you have an allergy to prawns."
Hazel chuckled. "You are so cute when you are worried, but I am fine. The prawn will not kill me."
Ranon furrowed his brows; he didn’t like the way Hazel dismissed his concern so lightly. This was related to her health and the baby, and that’s why it was unsettling to see how carefree she seemed.
"I cannot kiss you if I eat the prawn," Ranon said.
Hazel almost choked on her drink when she heard that. "So that’s your problem?" She widened her eyes in disbelief. "Well, if you don’t eat it, I will be very sad. You can ask Renna; I put a lot of effort, hours, and love into cooking that meal."
"Cheesy." Ranon continued eating. He finished all the prawns, and soon after, a few more random and trivial topics arose.
But the highlight was when Ranon informed her that he would have a business trip the next day.
"A business trip?" Hazel pursed her lips. "I haven’t heard about this before."
"It was a last-minute decision."
"Are you going with Rafael?"
"Yes, because there’s something important we need to take care of."
"You are going with Rafael too often," Hazel crossed her arms.
