Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!-Chapter 337: Improvement
If you truly want to find something out, maybe you can start with a certain person.
Irene Rowe had the same thought as Seraphina Sinclair, and their eyes met with agreement, "Seems like aside from asking him directly, we can only find Marcus Vance."
Speaking of Marcus Vance, he was inadvertently involved because of picking a birthday gift for Desmond Fairchild. It’s been a while since they contacted him, and they have no idea how he’s been lately.
"Do you need me to contact him for you?" Irene Rowe flashed her phone in front of Seraphina Sinclair.
"No need." Seraphina Sinclair slowly shook her head; although Marcus’s family is in politics, she didn’t want to interact with him unnecessarily, so Desmond wouldn’t blame others innocently and put her in a difficult situation.
Irene Rowe didn’t press further; Seraphina’s matters were decisions she needed to make herself.
"Oh, by the way, there’s something else I need to tell you: the general manager of Olais wants to invite you to dinner." Irene Rowe flipped through her phone book and suddenly remembered this matter.
"He’s inviting me to dinner, why?" To be honest, she’s not well-acquainted with the general manager of Olais.
Irene Rowe shrugged, "I don’t know, maybe he wants to continue discussing cooperation with you?"
"Help me decline; I don’t have the time." Seraphina Sinclair really had no interest in such dinner gatherings.
On her way home from work, Seraphina Sinclair passed by a cake shop and thought of Pomelo’s recent situation, so she stopped the car and walked into the shop.
The shop had a wide variety of cakes, each looking different but all appearing very appetizing.
Kids love sweet things like this, presumably, Pomelo would be happy after eating them too.
"Owner, please wrap these all up for me." Seraphina Sinclair picked several cakes with decent appearances and spoke to the cashier girl.
"Miss, you have great taste; these are the signature cakes of our shop. Are you making a birthday cake? If so, we have extra small gifts," the cashier cheerfully introduced.
"Special small gifts?" Seraphina wasn’t really interested in such small gifts, but she thought of Pomelo, who might like them, so she asked a bit more.
The cashier noticed her interest and immediately took out a small gift to show her, "Yes, it’s a handmade ukulele, take a look."
A ukulele is a type of musical instrument, small and exquisite, decorated with cute accessories. But a handmade ukulele might only produce simple sounds, effectively just serving as a toy.
Seraphina Sinclair smiled slightly, pointing at the dainty ukulele and said to the cashier girl, "Don’t give it away; I’ll buy one. How much is it?"
"It’s rare for someone to like it, and since you’ve bought so many cakes, I’ll give it to you as a gift." The cashier, seeing Seraphina Sinclair had bought two more cakes, grinned as she handed the ukulele to her.
Ultimately, Seraphina Sinclair carried eight cakes and the ukulele back to her car.
I hope Pomelo will be happy seeing these things.
In fact, Pomelo’s psychological shadow is similar to Seraphina Sinclair’s, typically dormant but hard to recover from once it emerges.
Seraphina Sinclair, being an adult, at least knows how to control her emotions.
But Pomelo is still a child, and her mood should change quickly, but her psychological shadow is too heavy; it likely won’t improve rapidly.
"Mommy, you’re finally back; quickly, go check on Pomelo; she hasn’t eaten anything for a day." Jude Sinclair ran towards Seraphina the moment he saw her, his voice filled with worry.
"Don’t worry; I’ll go and check." Seraphina Sinclair felt a panic in her heart and sighed gently.
In Pomelo’s room, Camille White was comforting her.
Camille White, a doctor, had profound achievements in psychology.
Nowadays, if anyone could heal Pomelo’s psychological trauma, it would be Camille White.
However, a child is still just a child, who doesn’t understand cooperation, and now she rejects treatment, resisting anyone’s approach.
Camille White wanted to talk to her, but she hugged her legs tightly, curled up in the corner of the bed, refusing to communicate.
Seeing Seraphina Sinclair arrive, Camille White shook her head at her, "It’s been a whole day, still the same; accompany her for a while."
After Camille White left, Seraphina Sinclair slowly sat by the bedside. She reached out to rub Pomelo’s head, sighed before speaking, "Darling, shall Auntie tell you a story?"
"Once upon a time, there was a little princess, whose parents loved her dearly from childhood. Whatever she wanted, her parents would give her, and her parents supported her no matter what she did. But the little princess was too naïve; when she grew up, she was deceived by bad people, losing everything, and even her life was nearly lost..." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Seraphina Sinclair’s words moved Pomelo; after a pause, Pomelo couldn’t help but ask, "And then? Is the little princess still alive?"
"Of course the little princess is still alive, living well, because she had faith in her heart. She firmly believed that as long as she lived well, there would be a way out, and by living, she could seek revenge; she wouldn’t let anyone who hurt her get away."
While speaking, a trace of sadness appeared in Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes; the revenge was complete, but some things could never be recovered.
Seraphina Sinclair was speaking about herself, although young Pomelo didn’t understand and was only concerned about what ultimately happened to the princess in the story.
Fortunately, Pomelo finally opened up and spoke; after listening to Seraphina’s story, she decided to be strong like the princess in the story.
She raised her little fist, eyes filled with determination, "Aunt Seraphina, you’re right; I must be strong, I must protect myself."
Seraphina Sinclair smiled comfortingly, "That’s the spirit, that’s our lovely Pomelo."
"But what use is it being strong? The doctor said my illness is severe, maybe..."
"What nonsense! Auntie is here, so nothing will happen to you; relax."
Before Pomelo could finish, Seraphina Sinclair angrily interrupted her.
Pomelo pouted in grievance, "Aunt Seraphina, you’re so fierce."
Seraphina Sinclair, with slight embarrassment, lightly coughed twice, "Anyway, rest assured, with Auntie here, you’ll definitely live well."
For some reason, Pomelo really trusted Seraphina Sinclair, even if Seraphina told her she could pluck stars from the sky, she’d believe it.
"Stop being sad; I’m here for everything. You’ve been down for so many days, do you know how worried everyone is? Especially your brother Jude Sinclair, he doesn’t want to eat since you don’t eat, and now he’s all thin. Is your mood better? Can you eat something? Auntie specially bought cake for you, you..."
Before Seraphina Sinclair could finish speaking, Pomelo jumped off the bed, opened the door, and ran out, chanting, "How can that be? Is brother alright?"
Seraphina Sinclair could hardly help but smile, her eyes revealing a bit of helplessness, "This little girl only has her brother Jude Sinclair in her heart..."
