Chapter 598: Chapter 413: [Yellow Springs Nightmare], Training the Harpies

Fang Zhou grabbed the horn with one hand, using his overwhelming strength to pin the creature down. His other hand swiftly clutched the Skeleton Warhorse’s skull. Then, he lifted. This incredibly robust Skeleton Warhorse was held aloft, hoisted by its skull with just one of Fang Zhou’s hands.

The Skeleton Warhorse struggled desperately, its four hooves kicking wildly in the air. However, its strength was far inferior to Fang Zhou’s, making it impossible to escape his grip. And so, the Skeleton Warhorse hung pitifully in mid-air, immobilized.

Fang Zhou ignored the Skeleton Warhorse’s resistance. Unleashing his power as a Skeleton Monarch, an endless stream of unknown Energy flowed from his body and began to erode its Soul Fire core. This Energy, like invisible Chains, gradually permeated every corner of the Skeleton Warhorse as he attempted to gain complete control over it.

Time passed, bit by bit.

When the unknown Energy first surged into the Skeleton Warhorse’s body, it seemed to realize what was happening, and its resistance flared violently. Its body trembled intensely and its hooves kicked madly in the air, emitting a silent, spiritual scream.

However, as more and more of his Soul Will poured into it, the Skeleton Warhorse’s resistance grew weaker and weaker. Its body gradually grew rigid, and the wildness and defiance in its Soul Fire were replaced by meekness and submission.

A satisfied smile touched Fang Zhou’s lips; he could feel the Skeleton Warhorse’s will gradually collapsing. This Mutated Skeleton Warhorse held tremendous potential. Once completely tamed, it would become one of his greatest assets. He continued to intensify the infusion of his Soul Will, ensuring the Skeleton Warhorse would completely submit to his control.

Finally, when his Soul Will had fully permeated the creature’s body and surged into its skull, the Skeleton Warhorse at last fell still. This signified that the Skeleton Warhorse, a creature of boundless potential, had officially become one of Fang Zhou’s Servants.

Through the Soul Link, Fang Zhou commanded the Mutated Skeleton Warhorse to crouch, then swung a leg over and mounted it. The Skeleton Warhorse’s natural physique allowed it to easily bear Fang Zhou’s current weight.

Seated on the Skeleton Warhorse’s back, Fang Zhou felt its solid frame and steady balance. He softly commanded it to rise. Instantly, a powerful force erupted from beneath its hooves, and the Skeleton Warhorse shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.

Man and steed became one, traversing the hills, galloping and leaping back and forth. Judging from its speed, the Skeleton Warhorse’s Agility Attribute was extremely high. For a mount, the Agility Attribute is naturally of utmost importance.

Fang Zhou tested various complex maneuvers while galloping, and the Skeleton Warhorse responded instantly, showcasing incredible flexibility and coordination. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Fang Zhou admired it silently. This warhorse isn’t just fast; its handling is superb. A perfect mount.

Fang Zhou then brandished his Corpse Long Spear, testing his Combat Ability on horseback. The results were deeply satisfying. The effect of his High-level Weapon Specialization wasn’t just limited to foot combat; a long-handled weapon like the Long Spear was best suited for mounted warfare. It was just that Fang Zhou had never before encountered a suitable mount in the Undead Realm, forcing him to fight on foot. Now, with this Mutated Skeleton Warhorse, Fang Zhou could finally engage in cavalry combat, at least at the Black Iron Tier.

Fang Zhou estimated that while mounted, his combat power was at least 30% higher than when he fought on foot. And that was without any special training to develop combat rapport with the Skeleton Warhorse. With time and training, their coordination would become more seamless, and the increase in his combat power would be even more significant.

Unfortunately, as his Servant, the Skeleton Warhorse couldn’t grow and advance alongside him like his Corpse Armor could.

Fang Zhou placed his bone palm on the Skeleton Warhorse’s skull, and a novel idea suddenly struck him. I wonder if I can find an opportunity to erase this Skeleton Warhorse’s Soul Will and refine it into my third piece of Corpse Armor. If I could do that, the Corpse Clone could truly transform from infantry into cavalry. By then, the Charge Skill would truly be a Heroic Charge!

After galloping around the corpse-laden hills on the Skeleton Warhorse for a while longer, Fang Zhou finally satisfied his craving to experience being a cavalryman. Patting the mount beneath him, Fang Zhou thought for a moment and decided to name it ’Yellow Springs Nightmare’.

The Skeleton Warhorse was only the initial mount for the Corpse Clone. One day, I will enslave a Skeleton Giant Dragon and become a true Dragon Knight.

After indulging in his daydreams, Fang Zhou picked a direction and commanded the Skeleton Bat, Bruce, to fly ahead and scout. Meanwhile, he and his nearly one hundred Skeleton Servants spread out in a fan formation to expand their hunting range.

Several hours passed. Just after Fang Zhou had drained a robust Zombie into dust, Bruce finally delivered news from the sky. Directly to the south, another thousand-strong Skeleton horde—a sight he hadn’t seen in a while—had appeared.

A menacing, bloody grin split Fang Zhou’s face. It’s easy to get used to the good life, but hard to go back. For the past few days, he had been hunting scattered, disorganized Skeletons, and he was deeply dissatisfied with the slow leveling progress. Now, after days of trekking, he had finally encountered another large Skeleton horde. This also means I’m not far from a Skeleton Lord.
