Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone-Chapter 487 - 353: Talent Activated, Undead Sequence!
The objective of the skeleton minions was not to immediately slay these Mutated Zombies, but to trap them and prevent them from interfering with Fang Zhou’s battle.
Even in their normal state, these four Mutated Zombies were no match for the Skeleton Battle Group led by Olaf, Tidamia, Verus, and Sain.
What’s more, after being continuously drained of death aura by the Dark Altar, the four Mutated Zombies’ strength had significantly declined, and they were on the verge of falling to the Lower Black Iron rank. This resulted in them having little advantage over the skeleton minions in any aspect other than their formidable defense.
Again and again, the Mutated Zombies struggled to break through the encirclement of the skeleton minions. They started to grow anxious.
ROAR!
One of the Mutated Zombies gave up on charging. Ignoring the skeleton minions attacking it, it spat a mouthful of dark green poison, which shot swiftly toward Fang Zhou’s position. This was the Mutated Zombie’s talent Skill: Poison Spray.
Without needing Fang Zhou’s command, a Skeleton Warrior charged out from his side as the poison approached, intercepting the blob of dark green liquid. The Skeleton Greatsword cleaved through, splitting the poison in two. However, the divided globs of poison continued on their path unabated, landing directly on the Skeleton Warrior.
Amidst billows of white smoke, the Skeleton Warrior’s bones were corroded completely and shattered in moments. A single spray of Corrosive Poison had cost Fang Zhou one of his Skeleton Warrior minions.
The first Mutated Zombie’s attack was just the beginning. Following its lead, the other three Mutated Zombies also began spitting poison, attempting to rescue the fierce zombie in this manner.
It wasn’t just the Mutated Zombies who were anxious; Fang Zhou was, too. At this rate, even if he successfully decapitated the fierce zombie, all of his hard-won skeleton minions would be destroyed by the Mutated Zombies’ Corrosive Poison.
His heart filled with grim resolve, Fang Zhou ordered the skeleton minions to continue guarding him while he concentrated all his Energy, controlling the Battle Qi Slash to slice toward the fierce zombie’s head in one concerted effort.
Ten seconds passed. Twenty seconds. Fifty seconds. A minute.
After a full minute and a half, as if it had reached some absolute limit, the fierce zombie’s head could no longer withstand Fang Zhou’s full output and burst apart.
Ignoring the new information on his attribute panel, the moment the fierce zombie’s head was severed, Fang Zhou grabbed the Corpse Long Spear and charged toward the four remaining Mutated Zombies.
HISS!
With the sharp sound of tearing air, the Corpse Long Spear in Fang Zhou’s hand swung down heavily, decapitating the four Mutated Zombies and killing them instantly. These four zombies were already extremely weakened. They could barely withstand the successive attacks from Fang Zhou’s skeleton minions, but against the unstoppable edge of the Corpse Long Spear, they were powerless to resist.
However, though the battle was over, the cost had been extremely heavy. In the fierce two-minute fight, the four zombies had continuously sprayed their venomous green liquid. Each drop was like a deadly arrow, piercing the fragile skeletons of his minions. Fang Zhou’s Skeleton Army suffered heavy losses under the repeated barrage of poison. Some were torn to pieces in the fight, while others were corroded into piles of charred, broken bones, scattered across the ground as a testament to the brutal battle.
Ultimately, however, Fang Zhou had emerged victorious. He stood on the devastated battlefield, his gaze sweeping across the carnage. The time for the harvest had come.
He first picked up the head of the Mutated Dual-Sword Skeleton Warrior, Yongen, and casually placed it on a Skeleton Warrior’s body whose own head had been corroded away. Then, he slowly walked to the first fallen Mutated Zombie, crouched down, and activated [Corpse Armor].
A warm energy surged from the zombie’s remnants, flowing through Fang Zhou’s arm into his body. At this moment, he felt his body changing, with significant enhancements to his strength, agility, constitution, and spirit—his four basic attributes. Meanwhile, he noticed a significant increase in his analysis progress of the Zombie Race’s unique talent Skills. Even though these zombies had been almost completely drained by the Dark Altar, their power greatly diminished, the gains Fang Zhou reaped from them far exceeded his expectations.
He did the same with the other three zombies, absorbing their remains in succession. In total, his four basic attributes increased by four to five points.
After completing this, he turned to look at the decapitated fierce zombie. Even without its head, the zombie still emitted a disturbing aura, as if it could revive at any moment and devour anyone who approached.
Fang Zhou’s gaze locked onto the massive corpse, which was over three meters tall, and excitement surged in his heart. The three Mutated Zombies, nearly drained of Life Energy by the Dark Altar, had provided him with some benefit, but they were merely an appetizer. The true prize was this fierce zombie.
Taking a deep breath, he suppressed his excitement and slowly pressed his bony palm against the fierce zombie’s steel-hard corpse. With the activation of the [Corpse Armor] Skill, a vast current of heat surged from deep within the corpse, flooding into Fang Zhou’s body in an instant, as though a powerful Life Energy was being transmitted through his hand.
If the warm current from the Mutated Zombies’ corpses was a trickling stream, then the energy from this fierce zombie was a mighty, surging river. The current flooded into Fang Zhou’s body like a tide. He could clearly feel his skeletal frame rapidly growing stronger with each passing second. His bones became harder, and an unprecedented power seemed to suffuse his entire being.
A full ten minutes passed before the current of energy within the corpse gradually subsided. The fierce zombie’s corpse finally gave out, collapsing into a pile of black ash. Fang Zhou eagerly opened his attribute panel.
The panel prominently displayed a total gain of 15 points to his Four-dimensional Attributes. This gain alone was a testament to the fierce zombie’s tremendous power.
More importantly, after absorbing this zombie’s power, his analysis progress for the Zombie Race’s talent Skills had reached Perfection.
A prompt immediately appeared on the attribute panel.
"Skill analysis successful." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
[Corrosive Poison Incarnation] (Black Iron Rank, Instinct): An instinct of the Zombie Race. Allows the user to inflict damage with Corrosive Poison energy and grants exceptional resistance to Corrosive Poison Damage.
The simple and unadorned Skill description momentarily reminded Fang Zhou of the introduction for the Skeleton Race’s Corpse Armor Skill, which he received when he first gained his Skeleton Clone.
