Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1211: Congratulations, Mr. Trevino!
The same evening.
Ian Shelby stood by the bedroom window, holding a cup of warm milk, already half-finished.
In his other hand was a phone. The message Jocelyn Morgan sent him today was still there; he’d read it over and over since coming back.
Especially the photo of the sunset, which he had enlarged seven or eight times.
There was an inexplicable joy in his heart.
It’s getting late. She’s been climbing mountains all day, she must be tired, right?
Is she asleep?
His thoughts were carried away by her, and despite being so rational, he did not disturb her.
Longing quietly grew deep in his heart.
That night, Jocelyn Morgan ran into his dreams, that feeling of being near yet distant lingered in Ian when he awoke in the morning, gazing at the ceiling, savoring it endlessly.
It was as if she was beside him.
In the morning, the dawn was warm.
Trevor felt heavy-hearted as he went downstairs, seeing his father’s car was no longer in the yard.
He wanted to discuss the transition with his father, but now there was no chance.
After breakfast, he drove to the company with a strong premonition that this morning’s board meeting would not be ordinary.
Sure enough, when he walked into the company lobby.
An old shareholder walked towards him with a broad smile, "Special Assistant Trevor, so you’re President Dalton’s son? I wondered why you looked so similar!"
Was his identity revealed?
Trevor smiled gently, unsure how to respond to that.
"Should we call you Mr. Trevino or continue with President Dalton?" The other man smiled warmly, eyes filled with joy and admiration.
"Did my father tell you?" Trevor probed.
"Yes, the position of company president is for you to take over. The board has already voted on it," the middle-aged man informed him truthfully, "Today is the formal announcement."
Trevor’s heart sank, was his father really not going to ask whether he was willing?
In the elevator, Trevor felt conflicted.
By the window in the president’s office, David Dalton heard the familiar footsteps approaching and turned his head.
"Dad!" Trevor walked quickly towards him, "About this matter..."
"There’s no need to talk about it anymore," his father cut him off, "I’ve made my decision."
"Then transfer half the shares to Ethan!"
"No!" David Dalton said firmly, "I believe in you, as long as you’re alive, he won’t go hungry."
So, was that all his father asked for?
"Then rest assured," Trevor promised at once, "Even if I’m gone, Ethan will not starve; I’ll ensure he’s well taken care of." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
David Dalton certainly trusted Trevor’s integrity.
The eight o’clock meeting started soon, with company executives and board members all in attendance.
When David Dalton announced Trevor’s identity and relinquished the company position to him, it was met with a round of enthusiastic applause.
Even if he couldn’t quite accept it, everyone highly recognized him.
"Mr. Trevino! Under your leadership, the company will surely thrive!"
"We all have great faith in you!"
"Congratulations, Mr. Trevino!"
As Trevor stood up and was about to speak, Justin Kingston and Mia Lane entered from the door, joining in the applause.
"Congratulations, Mr. Trevino!"
So they knew about this too?
This wasn’t a decision his father made on a whim; it was a well-discussed conclusion.
Faces were filled with joyful smiles, the company was about to embark on a new journey.
Amidst the thunderous applause, David Dalton got up and hugged Trevor, patting his back, whispering in his ear, "Son, I’m proud of you."
In that moment, a warm rush filled Trevor’s chest, his eyes even grew moist.
He promised his father, "I won’t let you down."
And so, Trevor took over The Dalton Group, becoming a young and promising president.
He was no longer a special assistant.
Strangely, everyone within the company, from top to bottom, particularly acknowledged Trevor without any opposition.
This admiration stemmed from his contributions to the company over the years, and his way of dealing with people.
