Chapter 232: "Do not falter before failure."

"Huh? That was not all?" Selena asked, her mouth agape.

Rion nodded. "There’s more to aura than just control."

"As aura is our will, we can shape it into whatever we want to achieve..." He explained evenly.

"How do I do that?" She asked with a determined glint in her eyes.

Seeing her determination, Rion remarked inwardly, ’If she had an equal amount of knowledge about aura, she would’ve already reached Enhanced Aura.’

He sighed inwardly and commented in his head, ’I cannot change the past, but I can help her achieve the same... that way I would have an officially recognised Nebula as a student... or at least as a friend.’

A faint smile creased his lips, and he answered while spreading his arms wide, "To command aura, you use your thoughts, and to shape it you must use intent... when you do that, the aura itself would tell you the path it needs for you to achieve it."

Selena tilted her head and questioned with an incredulous look on her face, "How is something like that even possible? What if I just think of performing a swing that can cut space itself?"

Rion snickered.

"Indeed, such a thing is normally not possible because space is something that aura can’t affect directly, it can act as a barrier but it doesn’t remove the concept of space... to do that, you would need a will so strong that you won’t even have to think of doing something like cutting the space."

Understanding dawned on her, and she mumbled, "So my limits are decided by my will...?"

"Indeed."

"What do you suggest I should do?"

Rion placed a hand under his chin and thought for a few moments before he shrugged his shoulders and answered with a bored expression,

"First, find out what you want to achieve... do you want to create an aura technique that can cut through anything, or one that allows you to stop any weapon from harming your lord? Think of every possibility and then focus on the one that suits you best."

Turning around, he stated, "Aura techniques aren’t easy to learn. Mastering even one of them is considered a talent bestowed by the Celestia itself... so be careful about your choice."

With each word, her expression grew grimmer. She lowered her head and muttered dejectedly, "What if I fail to create even one of them?"

He halted in his steps and turned his head towards her with a smile stretching across his face.

"Why are you thinking of failure before even trying it? Remember, if it’s your will, no one can stop you... So do not stop yourself and do what you must. For yourself, for your colleagues, and for your lord."

"Do not falter before failure, do not break before pain. That is the only thing that differentiates a Nebula from the superhumans."

She stared at him with a surprised expression.

’Is he really as young as he appears to be...?’

Rion continued his steps, and with a snap of his fingers, he disappeared from her vision.

He leisurely exited the mansion, and after about ten minutes, he reached the Barley estate.

Still hidden from the naked eye, he entered the manor and made his way towards the count’s office.

While doing so, he checked on Yuura and Dora with his Zone and found out that they were still not free from their class.

A silent chuckle escaped him upon seeing how bored they were. ’It must be because they can’t understand most of the things he is saying... well, I’ll have to explain it again at night.’

He reached the count’s office, and instead of knocking, he sent a Mental Whisper to Alger, <Count Barley, I am here to see you.>

An audible sigh resounded from the inside, and a few moments later, Alger opened the door and gestured for him to come inside.

Rion followed his instruction, and Rhaek’s stealth aura technique came undone as he stopped channeling his aura.

Alger finally looked at him and mumbled while shaking his head, "Why can’t you enter like a normal person?"

Rion flashed him a smile, sat in the guest chair, and said, "What’s the fun in that?"

Alger sighed again. Walked over his chair, sat in it, and asked, "So? Why are you here?"

Rion gave him an offended look and grumbled, "Why are you saying it like I’m only causing trouble for you?"

Alger didn’t answer. He stared him dead in the eyes.

Rion folded his arms across his chest and muttered while leaning back in his chair, "What? Okay — you know what. Tell me, what did I do for you to look at me like I’ve ruined your perfect life?"

Alger leaned backwards and answered while massaging his forehead, "First, you turned my most respected knights into a joke."

"Then, you beat up all of the knights."

"After that, you roam around the town without telling me a single thing, AND when you are done with all of that, you walk into my office and ask me stupid questions that even the maids can answer!"

He looked at Rion and questioned, "After all of this, do you want me to worship you or something?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Rion fell silent for a moment before he snorted loudly and said, "Why are you only counting my wrongs? I also brought your overly confident knights back down to earth. In a way, I helped Sir Salis, and just an hour ago I helped Captain Selena—"

"What?!" Alger shot to his feet and demanded desperately, "What the fuck did you do?"

Rion covered his cheeks with his hands and mumbled, mouth agape. "How can you use such a word? What happened to your noble creed and whatever it was?"

"Do not change the topic." Alger glared. "Tell me, what the hell did you do?!"

Rion waved his head and said, "Calm down. Calm down. I only told her the methods to effectively use her aura, nothing else."

"Hah..." Alger fell into his chair and mumbled while looking at the ceiling, "Please stay away from Selena... Except for my son, she is the only family I have."
