Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start-Chapter 231: Becoming a Sword Master
Rion swung the sword similarly to how Selena had done it, but his strikes were not as refined as hers.
Each swing revealed how little he understood the deadly art of swordsmanship — Selena could see it as well; however, that was not all she saw.
With each swing, Rion was getting closer to her level.
Selena was a Sword Master, and according to what she was witnessing, Rion’s first strike was that of a novice who had never held the sword before.
His second strike was of an Apprentice who had at least been trained in sword for a few months.
Third, fourth, fifth, and sixth of a Mediant who had trained in sword for at least a year.
Seventh to eighteenth of an Expert who had trained his sword for at least a decade.
Nineteenth to forty-ninth as an Elite who had achieved enough mastery to easily see through the sword patterns of the opponent.
And at last, his fiftyth swing was no different than Selena’s — A sword master — A realm where the person was one with the sword and didn’t need to rely on their vision or hearing.
Selena, who was watching this otherworldly phenomenon happen right before her eyes, couldn’t understand a single thing.
She couldn’t even differentiate whether this was real or if she was still asleep in an absurd dream where one could reach the same realm of sword mastery as her within a single hour.
"What is going on?" She mumbled dumbfoundedly and pinched herself to check if it was actually a dream or not.
"Ouch!" The sting was there, but her mind and heart worked their best to ignore it, to not even consider something so ludicrous as real.
But Rion wasn’t done yet.
He continued to swing the sword and began imitating the sword dance she had done with a single difference: his dance didn’t have the same wrath as hers.
It had a warrior’s pride — one that he had forged over seventeen years living in Dhaevrak.
His swings were deliberate, each arc was smooth, and a few moments later, flames erupted around his sword.
The flames were much stronger than Selena’s because Rion’s body had the natural energy that seeped out of the red and black mountains.
Perplexed, Selena stared at him with her mouth so wide that it could touch the ground.
"Wasn’t this his first time seeing an ether art?!?!" She questioned herself and caught a difference between how both of them executed the same ether art.
Unlike her, Rion didn’t run away from the flames, he didn’t swing widely because it was safer... Similar to everything else, the small flames weren’t enough to kill him.
After about half an hour, Rion halted his feet and lowered his sword.
He looked at Selena and muttered with an impressed expression, "Ether arts are quite advanced..."
She didn’t say anything and just stared at him as if she were looking at some kind of mythical monster.
"What’s wrong?" Rion asked with a confused expression, and a blue screen flickered before him.
[You have obtained a new title!]
[Fastest Sword Master]
[Every sword listens to you.]
Baffled, Rion blinked a few times.
Seeing that, a vein throbbed at Selena’s forehead, and she yelled, "What are you blinking at?! You were supposed to teach me, but instead of that, you stole my sword art, ether art, and even reached the realm of a Master! Do you not feel any shame?!"
Rion fell silent. ’That wasn’t my intention...’
He looked at the sword in his hand and thought, ’For some unknown reason, once I swung the sword, I couldn’t stop...’
He pressed his lips into a thin line. ’Is it because of the system? Or maybe the Absolute Will? It has to be one of them...’
Shaking his head, he glanced at Selena and stated calmly, "Don’t worry about it. I’ll pay you back for everything... for now, though, I want you to channel your aura throughout your body."
Selena nodded, placed both of their swords on the weapon rack, and began channeling her aura through every part of her body.
Rion felt the movement of her aura with his Zone and mumbled,
"You are just forcing the aura to move instead of actually guiding it, and because of that, your hands have two percent more aura than your legs... You have to spread an equal amount of aura throughout your body to get the best results."
Selena nodded and followed his guidance, but words alone could only help her as much.
Rion took a step, appeared behind her, and placed a hand on her back.
"Huh?" She yelped, and he spoke evenly, "Calm down, I will channel my aura into you; the only thing you have to do is remember how much aura and how I channel it."
She nodded, and Rion pushed his aura into her.
A warm sensation spread in her body, and she focused on the movements of his aura.
Five minutes later, Rion stepped back, and Selena was able to channel an equal and steady amount of aura to every part of her body.
Steam rose as her sweat got heated by the aura, and she finally opened her eyes.
Clenching her fists, she mumbled with a surprised tone, "How did such a small change make such a... big impact?
An amused chuckle escaped him, and he said, "Before you were uselessly burning your aura, now your aura would last much longer, and with enough practice, you will be able to do it like it’s child’s play."
Selena’s lips lifted into a sweet smile. She bowed towards him and said, "Thanks a lot for teaching me such a valuable lesson."
Rion furrowed his brows and asked, "What are you doing?"
Selena lifted her head and looked at him with a dumbfounded expression.
Realisation hit him, and he burst out laughing. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Her confusion deepened. "What is wrong?"
"You... did you think that was all I had to teach you?"
"Huh?"
