Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 810 - 353: Undead/Demon
The team's voyage quickly reached the first island.
Or in the words of the Land of Spirits, they reached the first patch of mud.
"Blue Flower Village." Alka looked at the map in his hand, and not far ahead of them was this village.
However, when they actually saw the village in the distance, it was vastly different from what they had imagined.
Tall green vine walls had completely enveloped the island.
The walls made of vines clearly showed dense green thorns protruding outward.
Large Flower Cannons could be seen on the vine walls, making it evident that this place had long transformed from a village into a fortress.
The muzzle of the Flower Fairy Cannon rotated to aim at their team, then maintained for less than a few seconds. The muzzle automatically pointed upwards, indicating a lack of hostile intent.
Soon, a figure emerged from the fortress.
Alka and the others glanced at the person, and memories flooded back.
Because they knew her, she was an elderly woman wearing adorned floral attire, holding a Scepter of Flowers in her hand.
She was the gardener they encountered early on when they first arrived at the Jade Fortress in the Land of Spirits.
Now arriving here meant their former Jade Fortress and surrounding areas had fallen.
And the gardener remained at the frontline, indicating she possessed some ability to confront those undead creatures.
The naturally arriving ship docked at the island's edge.
The group disembarked onto the island.
"Thank you all for coming."
After exchanging pleasantries with the gardener and two knights, the group of reinforcements followed them into the fortress.
Upon entering, they discovered the once flower and vine-woven village houses had transformed into structures purely constituted of stone entwined with vines. They had become more robust.
Even the surrounding vine walls were much thicker than the Emerald Fortress, and traces of battles were strewn across them.
Once inside, they saw a huge medical tent with many soldiers lying inside.
The two Church Knights selected a few captains and instructed the remaining personnel to find a place to camp with the Flower Priest.
Then Alka and the others followed the gardener into a conference room.
"Thank you once again for coming."
"Let's skip the formalities, Fulna Gardener. We need to know about the situation here," Alati said as he sat beside them.
Fulna Gardener nodded and looked at everyone.
At the center of the circular table woven from vines, the vines began to twist and weave into a vivid map.
It was clear this was a map of the entire Land of Spirits.
"From here to here, it's already completely fallen." The group looked at the area she designated, slightly more than what Alka had gathered from the previous night's information.
However, there were hardly any significant differences.
Then several small flowers sprouted on the map, aligned parallel to the fallen region.
They formed a long stretch.
"This line represents the current reconstructed defense system, which is the frontline position. We are relying on these six fortresses to fend off attacks."
Speaking to this point, the gardener sighed, "However, the real problem is not these, but our rear. Occasionally, Teleportation Gates to Hell randomly tear open space and appear around us."
Saying this, in the rear area, red flowers sporadically sprang up, indicating where Teleportation Gates opened.
"The deep sleep of our god, followed by the final step towards awakening, has made the stability of the entire Land of Spirits less than before.
Those damned cultists have seized this opportunity to perform their rituals here. They've slaughtered entire populations of eight villages, including some captives captured from offshore."
With a few simple words, she essentially explained the severe situation the Land of Spirits was currently facing.
Then she continued, "If it were only life and death boundary invasions, we could still manage. Even with disruptions from those cultists, we could still persevere.
However, those demons, these demons seem specifically targeted in their invasion, mostly using flame element Spell Magic. Very oppressive for us.
In addition, they wreck havoc in countless places with the Teleportation Gates appearing everywhere, significantly disturbing our rear situation and logistics, leading to us continuously retreating and losing too many areas."
After speaking, she sighed and was about to speak again, "But the good news is these demons seem incapable of controlling the locations where Teleportation Gates emerge. It should be distributed across the entire Land of Spirits.
This results in some Teleportation Gates appearing in fallen areas, slowing down the advance of the undead for us."
With this said, the entire conference room fell silent, with everyone frowning as they contemplated the current situation.
Simply put, the most pressing issue now is the demon-summoning ritual.
Namely, those randomly appearing Teleportation Gates in the rear.
Because the stability in the rear and the ripple effects reaching the frontline, under such circumstances, there's always the potential danger.
If such a situation arises, it will inevitably cause problems for the battle at the frontline too.
Falling into a vicious cycle until the entirety of the Land of Spirits is entirely succumbed.
Or the Flower Fairy abandons the final step of revival, awakes to control the situation, and starts cleaning up the mess.
