Chapter 570: Chapter 273 Strange Development_2

Two colossal creatures materialized before them, exuding an intensely unreal, dreamlike aura.

Is this something common in the Dream Realm? Alka, too, was somewhat bewildered by the scene before him.

He knew about the gigantic White Mist Serpent. So, was this giant deer, formed from red mist, the colossal creature of this place?

Initially, Alka had imagined a tentacled monster or some kind of octopus; he hadn’t expected a deer. This was a stark contrast to his initial impression.

By this time, the two creatures were fully engaged in combat.

The Red Deer continuously launched massive red tentacles, while the White Mist Serpent hovered in mid-air, its head extended. None of the red tentacles could even reach it before being struck down by arrows of white mist, which then dispersed them into nothingness.

Regardless of their respective sizes or the unfolding battle, it was clear the White Mist Serpent was far stronger than the red monster. It effortlessly thwarted all the Red Deer’s attacks, which seemed almost playful in comparison.

Yet, for some unknown reason, the White Mist Serpent didn’t counterattack. It merely blocked, waiting for the Red Deer to launch its haphazard assaults.

Meanwhile, Balazs, positioned beneath their battlefield, stood frozen within a small circle of white mist, daring not to move an inch. The cacophony of battle and the intimidating auras emanating from both behemoths left him paralyzed. Coupled with the stinging sensation in his soul from the earlier roars, he remained rooted to the spot, dazed.

Finally, the White Mist Serpent launched an attack. A section of its body descended from the sky—specifically, its tail tip—which swept out in an instant.

Its colossal tail, resembling a giant stone pillar supporting the heavens, swept swiftly across the area. The fierce wind generated by the sweep tore through the light and shadows, snapping the sand, stones, and trees on the small island and sending them flying.

And its gigantic tail brought with it devastating power. A single strike cleaved the Red Deer in half; the deer offered no resistance, nor did it attempt to flee.

Another sweeping blow descended, splitting the Red Deer into four pieces.

"Just like that... it’s gone?" Lucilia murmured to herself.

To them, this monstrous creature, which seemed like a cataclysm, was apparently nothing more than a toy in the eyes of the White Mist Serpent. A few casual attacks were all it took to shatter it into four pieces.

"Don’t be so quick to judge; that Red Deer shouldn’t be underestimated," Alka cautioned.

His caution was warranted, for even though the Red Deer had been shattered, the White Spirit Serpent remained fixated on the central area.

And sure enough, the dispersed red mist reconverged, and a brand-new Red Deer materialized once more, appearing as if it had never been harmed.

Indeed, any creature that could compel the White Mist Serpent to personally intervene was clearly not so weak.

Although Alka didn’t know why this serpent had appeared, it was evidently here to destroy the Red Deer. Whether it was friend or foe remained to be seen. However, considering its white, mist-like body and its previous manifestation on Landmark Island, Alka was inclined to believe it was friendly.

Or at least, he hoped it was. He certainly didn’t want to escape the Red Deer’s clutches only to face this even more powerful white serpent. He didn’t think he could be *that* unlucky; today had already been unfortunate enough.

The white serpent seemed unsurprised by the Red Deer’s reformation. It casually swept its tail a few more times, dispersing the deer once again.

Thus, the two combatants seemed to have reached a stalemate. Neither could overcome the other, and they fell into an endless cycle.

When the Red Deer coalesced yet again, the white serpent’s tail had already descended fully onto the island. Like a massive rope, the tail coiled tightly around the Red Deer, rendering it completely immobile.

What had previously been an all-out offensive now seemed to have shifted to a strategy of restriction, of bringing it under control.

"What’s it doing now? Is it going to eat the deer?" Lucilia watched from the side, asking with a hint of excitement.

After all, snakes typically immobilize their prey by coiling their bodies around it before consumption. Although this serpent was enormous and clearly not a normal snake, its actions naturally led to such speculation.

Alka shook his head. With the Dream Bubbles’ main frame active, he was limited to observing with his naked eyes. He couldn’t sense anything beyond what he saw. Moreover, to be frank, he knew nothing about such colossal dream creatures—neither their significance nor their true species. He had no idea how beings at this level fought. If mere binding and restriction were the goal, why hadn’t the serpent done so earlier?

As the Red Deer, now completely entwined, was lifted into mid-air by the white serpent, the serpent showed no signs of preparing further attacks.

It paused, then abruptly and inexplicably, it raised its massive head slightly. Its head turned, and those sun-like eyes stared directly towards Alka and the others.

The group watching from behind the transparent membrane was instantly terrified, a wave of inexplicable panic washing over them. It felt as if their hearts were being squeezed, making it difficult to breathe.

"It... it looked our way."

"Calm down, everyone, calm down! It might be looking in another direction," Alka quickly tried to reassure them.

His reassurance, however, was futile. There was no doubt: those sun-like eyes were fixed squarely upon them.
