Chapter 555: Chapter 268 Escape and Sudden Change_2

The window for teleportation was very brief. Alka had already thoroughly prepared for the dangers ahead, considering even the escape of a peak Fourth Stage powerhouse, to ensure the lowest possible risk. As he uttered the words, the entire space suddenly erupted with pink mist, instantly filling the area. Everyone except Alka was dragged into the Dream Realm. The mist also slowed the movement speed of all enemies within the space. Even the General was caught off guard by this sudden mist.

And in that brief interval, Alka and the others disappeared on the spot.

They had stayed in Vastva for over 160 days and nights, which, according to their usual time calculations, was almost a year. They had long ago figured out the mechanism of the Superimposed Space and knew how to teleport out unilaterally with ease, without needing to teleport everyone in the space all at once.

The Dream Mist within this space had been specifically injected by Alka when he came here last night. They had their research in Vastva to thank for this. Although they couldn’t create a Superimposed Space themselves, Space Division and Space Expansion had similar aspects. Even though the data was incomplete, it had given them considerable insight into the manipulation and control of Superimposed Space.

The two soldiers searching outside were quite bewildered by the sudden appearance of the group. But Alka, already prepared, sent two strands of pink mist directly at them, quickly drawing them into the Dream Realm.

At this moment, Alka was in no mood for any battle with them; he just wanted to leave quickly and get them back to the ship.

"Run! Head towards the shore! Sound of Dawn is already waiting for us."

They had just left the room when a violent shattering sound echoed, and a breach appeared in the space. With a serious expression and eyes filled with malice, the General emerged as the space shattered. The mist’s ability to pull one into the Dream Realm didn’t hold him for even a second.

What was more outrageous was that he actually broke through the space directly. With Magic Power coating his hands at the breach, he forcibly stabilized the shattered space.

"Disperse and run! Quick!" Alka shouted.

The group didn’t hesitate and immediately dispersed. However, an invisible force had already spread, and Alka, along with Lucilia beside him, were directly immobilized. From that distance, the General first targeted Alka, the leader of the Treasure Hunting Team.

"Alka!" Seeing Alka immobilized, Chadite, who was escaping, couldn’t help but falter for a moment.

That momentary pause cost her the chance to escape; the Ring of Light had only just begun to appear on her forehead when she, like Alka and the others, was halted in place.

It’s over. Alka’s heart sank. If it were just him, he might still find a way to escape by using a decoy, even at the cost of serious injury or his life. But with Lucilia instantly controlled alongside him, and Chadite now caught because she had hesitated, he could no longer consider escaping alone.

"Did you think you could escape from my grasp?" came the sinister voice from behind. This time, Alka couldn’t even speak; he couldn’t turn his head.

To hell with it! The Dream Catcher flew out from his chest, and a dense pink mist frantically sprayed out, enveloping the surroundings. A mirror mask appeared on his face, and one life-sized mirror after another materialized, instantly shrouding the entire village ruins and turning the area directly into a forbidden maze. Although Alka himself couldn’t move, it was only his physical body; internally, he wasn’t controlled by that peculiar invisible force.

The General’s voice came from behind, "A Treasure related to the Dream Realm, I see."

Alka was incredulous. It didn’t hold him for even a moment? He actually couldn’t be dragged into the Dream Realm at all?

In the reflection of the Mirror before him, Alka saw the General’s figure, almost entirely surrounded by mist. Yet there was no sign of him entering the Dream Realm; with just a gentle wave of his hand, an invisible force dispersed the mist around him.

Could it be that at this stage, one could remain unaffected by the Dream Realm? Alka had been preparing to break free the instant the General entered the Dream Realm, planning to escape with Chadite using the Mirror of Passage. However, the reality left him utterly confused. If he hadn’t entered the Dream Realm now, then why had he seemed to enter it before? He had, at least, appeared to enter the dream earlier, however briefly. That short time should have been enough.

Alka had even positioned mirrors beneath everyone’s feet, ready for their escape.

The General straightened his uniform, ensuring it was clean and orderly, and stood there ramrod straight. He looked at Alka’s reflection in the mirror before Alka, though Alka’s face was obscured by the mirror mask.

The General said, "You seem quite surprised that I wasn’t dragged into the Dream Realm this time?"

"You can rest assured, it’s not because your ability isn’t powerful; you simply used it on the wrong opponent. If it were someone else, you might have actually escaped."

He chuckled lightly at this but didn’t explain further.

"A Treasure related to the Dream Realm... How wonderful. You truly are a bringer of good fortune to me." The smile did not leave his stern face.
