Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 552 - 267 Perfect Information_2
Never mind laymen; even experts couldn’t see any flaw in this.
However, Alka’s true treasure-hunting method was clearly beyond the understanding of even experts.
The general hadn’t followed, and indeed, only two soldiers were behind him.
Clouds obscured some of the starlight, and Akka took out his lantern, letting it float beside him for illumination.
The two soldiers, who had already placed their hands on their weapons, silently lowered them.
Alka didn’t mind this at all; instead, he smiled.
He continued wandering around the entire village with the two soldiers.
He even made an appearance outside the square once, allowing General Kriel to see him.
This was also to make his final confirmation.
He didn’t think the general would spare them at all; this man possessed the absolute power to crush them.
The general’s sternness clearly signified ruthlessness. The silent, grim-faced soldiers currently accompanying me only reinforced that conviction.
Plus, they had just overheard some information that was clearly unfavorable to the royal family.
Moreover, when this general first arrived on the island, he had stated clearly that this undertaking held other secrets.
And since he couldn’t go personally, he had devised these schemes.
Sigh.
The chances of survival seemed even slimmer now.
But he wasn’t without options. He already had a decent idea; he just needed to observe a little more carefully.
At least the method he had in mind seemed feasible.
Finally, he began to search for something in the house where the golden light emanated.
He pushed up the glasses on his face.
He moved the lantern slightly in front of him, appearing to inspect something.
A dark cloud drifted across the sky.
The surroundings plunged into complete darkness.
When points of starlight once again pierced through the damaged structure and windows of the dilapidated house, Alka lifted his lantern.
"There are a few more houses. I hope you don’t mind," Alka said with a smile.
The two soldiers showed no intention of acknowledging him, merely continuing to follow.
Undeterred by their silence, Alka walked towards the last few empty houses.
A short while later, having completed his inspection, he returned to the square.
Seeing Alka return, everyone by the campfire turned to look at him.
Their calm eyes seemed to hold a hint of inquiry.
They hoped Alka had brought back good news.
"I hope you’ve brought back good news," General Kriel said quietly, looking at him.
Alka nodded with a smile. "Of course. I did find an important clue, very likely indicating where the treasure is buried."
"Shall we go now?" Alka asked, looking at the general.
General Kriel looked at him and then shook his head.
"Although time is short, I’m not in that much of a hurry. You’re all tired. Rest well for the night; we’ll go tomorrow."
Alka’s expression didn’t change at this; he simply nodded.
Everyone sat by the campfire, eating simple dry rations. After a short while, they began to lean on each other in pairs and small groups to rest.
Alka and Chadite leaned against each other, a blanket covering them both. Lucilia was nestled in Alka’s arms, only her head exposed, apparently fast asleep.
Aside from the sounds of the waves and the chirping of insects, only the crackling of the nearby bonfire remained.
The surroundings fell quiet.
"Four soldiers are missing. Two of them were the ones following you earlier. The four of them are now checking the route you just took," Lucilia’s voice sounded in his soul; the Lucilia in his arms had long since reverted to a mere doll.
"There’s no need to worry," Alka replied mentally. "I didn’t leave anything on the path. They won’t find anything."
Then Alka shared his plan with Lucilia through the Soul Space. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Then Lucilia, through the minimal skin contact between Alka and Chadite, entered Chadite’s Soul Space.
She then relayed Alka’s plan to Chadite.
This was the only way the three of them could coordinate.
Jason and the others resting nearby, though unaware of Alka’s specific plan, all knew he would make his move tomorrow.
They just needed to stay alert and do what was necessary.
I’ll sleep first and see if I can glean any information from my dreams, Alka thought, and then fell into a deep sleep.
When he sank into his Dream Bubbles, he immediately sensed something was wrong.
His Dream Bubble seemed to be under constant attack. Who could it be? So audacious!
Ever since Alka had become more familiar with the Dream Realm, the area around his Dream Bubble had become inexplicably tinged with his aura.
This caused Dream Realm creatures to rarely approach his Dream Bubble. Even if they didn’t know who the dream’s owner was, drawing near would make them feel a distinct discomfort.
So, Alka was extremely surprised that his Dream Bubble was under attack.
He was about to fly out when he slammed headfirst into the membrane. A crisp sound resounded.
A strange pain shot through him in the dream, making Alka clutch his forehead.
He’d never imagined the membrane could suddenly harden, so he had been flying quite fast.
"What’s going on?!" Alka couldn’t help but exclaim. He could clearly control his Dream Bubble!
Why was his own Dream Bubble blocking him, trapping him inside?
He reached out to probe the Dream Bubble’s membrane. His hand passed through it, but then he felt another, much more solid layer encasing it from the outside.
This definitely wasn’t something his Dream Bubble had produced; something else had enveloped it.
