Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 548 - 266 Prisoner
The unexpected attack caught everyone present completely off guard.
Jason’s Ice Bullet struck none other than the commerce guild member who had just spoken.
The two of them were practically strangers, leaving almost no one able to react in time. That person hadn’t anticipated being attacked suddenly and stood frozen as the Ice Bullet flew towards him.
However, Balazs’s strength was evident; even with Jason’s sudden assault, he managed to react at the last moment. A Shield of burning fire ignited in mid-air, blocking the Ice Bullet.
"What are you doing?" Balazs questioned Jason, glaring at him. The flames in his hand transformed into a long, thin blade, which he raised and pointed directly at Jason.
The commerce guild members behind Balazs instantly drew their weapons and gathered. Then, seeing Alka frowning, Balazs began to slowly retreat, guarding his own guild members. They remained wary of a sudden attack from Alka and his group.
Before Alka and his group could inquire, Jason shouted, "That person is suspicious! He just emanated strong malice."
Seeing his sudden attack fail, Jason didn’t hide anything and explained why he had attacked. Ulu Liwus, as a Crystal Dragon, possessed mind-related powers. From birth, to ensure the safety of their young, Crystal Dragons can sense any malice directed toward them or their kind.
Balazs turned to look at his team member, frowning deeply. He had recently dealt with betrayal, and the sting of it remained fresh in his memory. Even though he had purged the traitors from his team, he couldn’t be sure it was wholly clean. So when he heard someone in his team was suspicious, he didn’t immediately refute it; instead, he grew doubtful.
"President, don’t believe him! How could I be a traitor? I was just... startled by that Merfolk," the person hurriedly explained.
The sudden turn of events made his lie seem clumsy.
Pororo turned to look at everyone, trying to spot the Merfolk. Then he saw everyone looking at him.
"Huh? Me?" he pointed to himself in confusion, his shark head showing an obvious frown. In the Merfolk tribe, he was known for being handsome and dashing. Does this person have no taste? Wasn’t it clearly a lie?
"Chadite!" Alka said little, softly calling Chadite’s name.
Instantly, a Ring of Light appeared on Chadite’s forehead. His speed rapidly increased, turning him into a beam of light. He directly bypassed the obstructing firewall, arriving beside the man, and delivered a whip-kick like a beam of light.
The crowd only saw a flash, a dazzling burst of light. The man, caught off guard, was struck and sent flying backward, crashing heavily into a nearby tree trunk. Leaves and branches fell from the tree, covering his body; only his wails could be heard.
This time, Balazs just frowned tightly, looking at the person now lying beneath the tree.
"Feiba, why?"
The excuse was too flimsy, and Balazs knew him well enough. Even if the panic in Feiba’s eyes was well hidden, it couldn’t escape Balazs’s heightened suspicion, given recent events.
"Why? Of course, it’s because..." The man named Feiba wore a pained expression, clearly burdened by unspoken reasons, and seemed to want to say more.
However, a card had already exploded by his side, and five Water Chains erupted, securely binding his limbs and waist.
"Knock him out."
Alka had no habit of patiently listening to enemies; who knew if Feiba had any tricks up his sleeve? To be safe, it was better to knock him out and search him; they could question him later.
Chadite vanished. When he reappeared, he had kicked Feiba into the air. Feiba spun twice before crashing into the mud, sending clouds of dirt and sand billowing up.
At that moment, Feiba’s eyes rolled back, and he collapsed on the ground, completely unconscious. The five Water Chains remained firmly bound around his body.
Balazs walked over with a tightly furrowed brow. The few guild members behind him had already gripped their weapons, remaining vigilant. This time, they were not only guarding against Alka and his group but also remained wary of their own companions. They too were exhausted by the turmoil caused by traitors.
"The space is becoming unstable, be careful!" Julia suddenly shouted, sensing the change in the surroundings.
Although Balazs didn’t understand what she meant, he immediately stopped in his tracks.
Chadite jumped back, transforming into a beam of light as he returned to his team.
Then, right next to Feiba’s body, a slender crack in space appeared. A large hand, clad in gray-black leather gloves, reached out from the crack and wrenched it open with a mighty twist.
With a strange creaking sound, the space expanded directly into a gate. The figure inside was revealed.
This was a man, easily two meters tall. His body was exceedingly muscular, like a thick marble column. His massive physique didn’t suggest obesity; rather, it exuded an extraordinary sense of intimidation. His face bore small scars, and he regarded everyone present with a stern expression. His gray-yellow eyes swept across them, their gaze as sharp as needles.
He wore what looked like a military uniform, adorned with a metal medal on his chest. A shining red, cross-shaped star on his chest proclaimed his identity.
He leisurely stepped out of the Space Gate, his hands clasped behind his back, facing the vigilant crowd with utter indifference.
