Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 825 - 823: Still Just Kids (First Update)
Le Tong and her family of four arrived in Beijing, finally getting in touch with Uncle Jing. Uncle Jing’s tone on the phone was calm, only telling Le Tong the specific hospital and ward number, but not mentioning a word about Old Master’s condition.
Le Tong, feeling anxious, along with Ji Rui and their two children, rushed to the hospital mentioned by Uncle Jing as quickly as possible. In a special passageway, a nurse with a somewhat familiar face greeted them and led the family into the elevator.
"Miss Nurse, may I ask how is Old Master doing now?" Before Le Tong could speak, Ji Rui asked.
"Mr. Yang’s condition is optimistic, no need to worry." The nurse gently smiled at everyone and pressed the top floor button.
Le Tong finally remembered; this nurse was Grandpa’s private doctor’s assistant, surnamed Lu.
She breathed a sigh of relief, "Miss Lu, who is with my Grandpa now?"
"Uncle Jing and a few bodyguards." Other than that, Miss Lu said nothing more, clearly because it was her professional habit not to speak casually.
Miss Lu led everyone out of the elevator. The corridor was covered with a thick carpet, and as the group walked, it remained very quiet. Presumably, this area wasn’t an ordinary ward or perhaps not a ward at all.
After turning a corner, they saw from a distance several men in black standing at the entrance of a particular room, and Le Tong instinctively felt that was where her Grandpa was.
Approaching closer, she could see clearly that those men were indeed Old Master Yang’s personal bodyguards.
"Miss Tong, Mr. Ji!" The men respectfully greeted Le Tong and her husband, then knocked on the door, speaking inside, "Mr. Jing, Miss Tong and her husband are here."
Soon, the door opened from the inside, and it was Uncle Jing’s old face poking out from behind the door.
"Uncle Jing, my Grandpa..." Despite trying to lower her voice, Uncle Jing gestured for her to be quiet and greeted her and Ji Rui with a look, stepping aside to let the four of them in.
"Your Grandpa is fine, but he just fell asleep!" Uncle Jing closed the door and whispered to Le Tong.
Le Tong and her husband brought their two children to look at the hospital bed, then entered the next room with Ji Rui and Uncle Jing.
Nuonuo and Little Treasure sat by the hospital bed, saying nothing.
Even asleep, Old Master Yang’s brows were slightly furrowed, his complexion not as rosy as usual, seemingly not looking like a well person.
Nuonuo watched Old Master for a while, then turned to Little Treasure.
Little Treasure leaned over, whispering in her ear, "Don’t worry, Mommy and Daddy will handle it."
Nuonuo nodded, looking at the electronic clock hanging on the wall, showing four o’clock precisely. It was at least another hour before Brother arrived, but strangely, she suddenly really wanted to see him!
Logically speaking, with Mommy, Daddy, and Little Treasure here, she shouldn’t feel lonely.
Yet now, her longing to see him was undoubtedly very strong.
Perhaps, her feelings for Brother were indeed very different from her feelings for Daddy, Mommy, and Little Treasure.
The siblings sat by the bed for a while, seeing that Old Master was sleeping peacefully, then moved to the sofa nearby.
Afraid of waking Old Master, neither sibling dared to speak.
Meanwhile, the Ji Rui couple who followed Uncle Jing to the next room didn’t return for quite some time. Gradually, Little Treasure, who had been reassuring Nuonuo not to worry, finally became a bit restless.
He picked up his phone and sent Da Bao a message, "Brother, have you arrived?"
Soon, the phone in his hand vibrated, and upon opening it, he saw Da Bao’s reply.
"In the elevator."
Little Treasure handed the phone to Nuonuo, who read the message, and the siblings, intuitively and simultaneously, stood up and walked out of the room to greet Da Bao at the elevator.
"Brother, you’re finally here."
Little Treasure, who usually acted grown-up before others, instinctively leaned toward Da Bao just like Nuonuo when he saw him.
Covered in dust, Da Bao carried a backpack, raised his hands, and vigorously rubbed the heads of his brother and sister, "Such kids...", his tone full of affection and indulgence.
The two kids each hugged one of Da Bao’s arms, walking to the door of the hospital room. Nuonuo released her hold and gave Da Bao a gentle push.
"Great Grandpa is still asleep. Brother, you should go in and see him first, then come out for some fresh air."
Da Bao understood their feelings, knowing that his brother and sister probably felt cooped up in the room, pointing to the adjacent room, "Go rest in that room, the computer and TV inside are available."
Clearly, Da Bao was quite familiar with this place.
Nuonuo and Little Treasure obediently entered the room, which had arrangements similar to the adjacent one, resembling a hotel twin room layout. However, besides the TV, there was also a desk with a desktop computer on it.
The siblings turned on the computer and started watching a movie, which had a runtime of ninety minutes. Seeing that the movie had been on for over half an hour, Da Bao, who said he would come out soon after checking on Great Grandpa, was nowhere to be found.
Presumably, when Da Bao went in, Old Master woke up.
Just as Nuonuo was considering whether to check if Great Grandpa had woken up, there was a knock at the door, and the person entering was one of Old Master’s personal bodyguards.
"Young Master Huan, Miss Si Han, Young Master Yu asked me to take you two home first."
Nuonuo and Little Treasure exchanged a glance, at this point, they were basically sure that Old Master had woken up.
"Okay, thank you, Uncle."
Neither Nuonuo nor Little Treasure asked further or insisted on seeing Old Master; they obediently followed the bodyguard to the parking lot to get in the car.
"Uncle, has Great Grandpa woken up?"
Nuonuo held back her question the whole ride, only daring to ask after the car had left the parking lot.
"Hmm, Master should be fine, you little ones don’t need to worry."
It seems that Daddy, Mommy, and Brother were left by Great Grandpa to discuss a plan.
Returning to Yang Family Mansion, Nuonuo somehow felt the place lacked some vitality.
"The bedrooms have been tidied up. You can take a bath first, and later the maid will call you for dinner. Young Master Yu said if they’re not back by ten, you should go to sleep yourselves."
Nuonuo and Little Treasure didn’t want to trouble the adults, obediently acknowledged, and each went to their rooms for a bath.
During that time, Little Treasure also sent a message to Da Bao, considering he’d been around Yang Sheng for half a year and might help a bit.
"No need, stay home with Sister, we’ll take care of everything else!"
At dinner, Nuonuo asked Little Treasure, "Little Treasure, have Daddy and Mommy called?"
Little Treasure shook his head, "No, they’re probably busy. Brother did send a message, telling us to stay calm, eat well, and sleep well, don’t worry."
Nuonuo nodded, lowered her head, and ate silently.
After dinner, she secretly went to her room to make a call.
