Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 824 - 822: Little Treasure Has Grown Up (Third Update)
"Little Treasure, Little Treasure!"
Restless Nuonuo shouted loudly towards the bathroom.
"Coming, are you trying to summon spirits? Just wait a moment! Brother has really spoiled you!"
Little Treasure leisurely pushed open the door, grumbling discontentedly as he walked over.
"No! Come quickly and look, this report says Great-Grandpa fell ill from anger and is still in the emergency room, with his life uncertain."
Little Treasure, who was initially calm, changed his expression immediately upon hearing Nuonuo’s words.
He rushed forward to glance at the computer and quickly scanned through the report, which was posted at 12:40 p.m., and now, it was exactly 1:00 p.m.
"I’ll call Uncle to ask!"
Little Treasure’s face looked bad as he hurriedly picked up the phone to dial.
Nuonuo, however, remained somewhat calm, pressing down on his hand, and said.
"Brother, call Mommy instead, Uncle surely doesn’t have time to answer your call right now."
With Nuonuo’s reminder, Little Treasure also realized Uncle was likely busy dealing with the provocations of those three great uncles and aunts and taking care of Great-Grandpa, making it unlikely he’d be able to take the call.
As soon as the call to Le Tong connected, before Little Treasure could say anything, she instructed anxiously, "Little Treasure, you and your sister quickly pack up and have the driver take you back to Grandpa’s house, as Great-Grandpa is sick and hospitalized, we are flying back to see him together."
Without asking more questions, Little Treasure simply agreed and hung up the call, asking Nuonuo to pack.
The siblings were frequent visitors to the Yang Family home, with clothes and other items already there, so they just took their personal items like their computers and phones, left a note for Aunt Guan, who had gone out, and had the driver take them back to the mansion.
On the way, Nuonuo thought of Da Bao.
"Little Treasure, does Brother know about this?"
Little Treasure shook his head, "I don’t know, Mommy seemed very urgent, I didn’t have time to ask."
Le Tong asking the siblings to return to the mansion was clearly to take a private jet back.
"I’ll call Brother." Nuonuo said, quickly dialing his number and pressing the call button.
The phone rang for a long time, so long that Nuonuo thought it might disconnect, but it finally connected.
"Brother, did you know Great-Grandpa is hospitalized?"
"Yeah, I just found out, I’m heading to the airport now, booked the quickest flight, probably won’t reach Beijing until after five. You and Dad and Mom head over first to help take care of Great-Grandpa."
Da Bao’s voice was urgent, and once they communicated their intentions, they hung up the phone without wasting any words.
"How did it come to this?"
As things settled down, Nuonuo couldn’t help but think back to that online report.
Little Treasure reached out to place his hand on hers, trying to soothe the worried and restless Nuonuo concerned about Great-Grandpa and Uncle.
"Don’t overthink, things may not be as bad as you imagine. Actually, Uncle having me and Brother return is to combat the forces of the Great-Uncle and Aunties; you can rest assured that they don’t have the capability to oust Uncle! Even if Uncle doesn’t hold the majority of shares in the Yang Family, Mommy and Daddy are there to support him!"
The inheritance struggle among two generations of the Yang Family had been ongoing for years. Although Yang Sheng seemed mild and harmless on the surface, his style was similar to Ji Rui’s—fast, fierce, precise, with a long-range and comprehensive outlook. It wouldn’t be difficult for the elders to find small issues with the Yang Family, but provoking a major storm was challenging.
And now, for the uncles to openly provoke during a board meeting, they had obviously found a major backer from outside. Moreover, Yang Family, long the apex of the food chain, had always restricted the media from reporting any negative news. Now that such a viewer-grabbing report has surfaced, clearly, it was either authorized by a member of the Yang Family or manipulated by a force larger than Yang.
However, domestically speaking, it’s hard to imagine any force that could rival the Yang Family, except the Ji Family. But the Ji and Yang Families were publicly acknowledged as in-laws, and did that person not realize, by targeting Yang, he’s simultaneously antagonizing both Yang and Ji?
It can only be said, that person is either brainless or immensely powerful.
While comforting Nuonuo, Little Treasure calmly analyzed the situation.
Having been by Yang Sheng’s side for over half a year, Little Treasure was familiar with many of the Yang Family’s internal operations, hence, he was much calmer than Nuonuo, who was uninformed.
"What about Great-Grandpa? Could they directly lay a hand on him?"
Even though the Ji and Yang Families were in different cities, the three Ji children had a close relationship with Old Master Yang and Yang Sheng’s family, and Nuonuo and her siblings’ feelings for Old Master were as strong as those for Old Ji.
"No, Grandpa Jing will take good care of Great-Grandpa." Little Treasure reassured Nuonuo.
In fact, Uncle Jing had been by Old Master Yang’s side for so many years, with connections and tact; even if Yang Sheng couldn’t tend to Old Master, Uncle Jing could protect him well.
Little Treasure’s thoughts were validated upon meeting Le Tong and Ji Rui.
"You two don’t need to worry about Great-Grandpa, Grandpa Jing will surely ensure his safety. Besides, we suspect, Great-Grandpa’s condition isn’t severe, Uncle Jing might have sent him to the hospital to avoid disturbances."
Ji Rui agreed with Le Tong’s analysis, "Yes, with Old Master’s situation making headlines, public opinion will likely shift in favor of Yang Sheng."
As Nuonuo sat on the plane with her parents, listening to their calm and detailed analysis, her previously racing heart began to return to its usual pace.
"Mommy, how did you find out about this? Did Uncle call you?"
Little Treasure found it curious, as logically, their parents should’ve received news earlier.
"No, we haven’t received any plea for help from your uncle, nor from Uncle Jing yet. Calls to the mansion went unanswered, and Uncle Jing’s phone wasn’t picked up either."
Le Tong frowned slightly, trusting in her brother’s abilities, yet, given the unclear situation, claiming not to worry would indeed be untrue.
"Brother will be in Beijing after five; he’s been with Uncle longer than I have, he knows more about the connections and company operations. Having gotten the news, he must’ve gathered information, and since he hasn’t called, it should mean there’s no major issue."
Little Treasure calmly analyzed the situation, and upon hearing it, Le Tong’s frown relaxed.
Listening quietly to the conversation between Mommy and Brother, Nuonuo’s admiration for Little Treasure grew.
Though she was the older sister, in facing challenges, the more composed and rational one was her younger brother; not only could he protect his sister, but he could also ease Mommy’s mind with simple words.
Nonetheless, time has passed so quickly, in the blink of an eye, that little kid who used to trail behind and tease her had grown up, now capable of protecting his family like Daddy and Brother!
