Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife-Chapter 810 - 808: Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder (Part 1)
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and for Da Bao and Nuonuo, this little couple, it’s especially true.
They hadn’t seen each other for more than a week. Occasionally, they’d have a phone call, but it often got interrupted by people or things on Da Bao’s end. But now that Nuonuo was visiting him at work, no matter how busy Da Bao was, he wanted to put his work aside and take the little girl out for a stroll.
However, Nuonuo refused Da Bao’s kind offer. She took out her backpack and started taking out books and exercises one by one to show him.
"Brother, I’m not here to play. I came so you could help me with my studies. You carry on with your work, and I’ll do my homework on the side. If I have any questions, I can ask you—it’s so convenient!"
Da Bao couldn’t argue with the little girl. After being all lovey-dovey on the sofa for a while, Da Bao turned on the air conditioner, rested a pillow under her head, and covered her with a thin blanket, "You take a nap, I’ll go wash the dishes."
A gentle kiss landed on her slowly closing eyelids. Hearing her lazily hum from her nose, Da Bao, full of smiles and affection, softly touched her face before turning around to take the dishes to the kitchen.
Although Nuonuo wasn’t skilled in cooking, like Da Bao and Little Treasure, she’d been accustomed to helping out in the kitchen since she was young. So at this moment, the kitchen was very clean, and the used spices and utensils were neatly arranged as before. All Da Bao had to do was wash the dishes he just brought in.
Having lived together for more than ten years, this scenario of the two eating and washing dishes together wasn’t new. But here, in this place that belonged only to them, like a couple—no, like a married couple—cooking and eating together, then one resting on the sofa while the other cleaned up the dishes, it was exactly like a happy household scene straight out of an 8 PM TV drama.
Da Bao, feeling joyful, finished washing the dishes, dried them, and put them back in the cupboard. He opened the fridge and, as expected, it was packed full of various ingredients and fruits. It seemed the little girl planned to fatten him up before she was satisfied.
Unfortunately, she only had a two-day vacation. Even with all her efforts to feed him like a duck, it was impossible to fatten him up.
Da Bao peeked out and saw the little girl sound asleep on the sofa, her eyes tightly shut and her mouth slightly open, looking like she’d really exhausted herself getting there early in the morning.
Da Bao brought out the watermelon she had bought, scooped out its flesh with a spoon, added some ice, and blended it in the mixer to make a slushy watermelon ice drink.
He made two cups like this, putting one in the fridge and carrying the other one out to the living room.
The only sofa in the living room was occupied by the sleeping little girl, so Da Bao fetched a simple folding stool from the bedroom and sat next to her, holding his iPad as he browsed the news and occasionally glanced at the sleeping little girl.
The house was very quiet. Da Bao took a few sips of the slushy; the juice made a hissing sound as it flowed through the straw, subtly but clearly bothering the lightly sleeping girl. She shifted slightly, her eyebrows furrowed, she muttered, "Don’t be noisy..."
Da Bao, with a deep gaze, stared at her, curling his lips as he leaned down and whispered softly, "Watermelon ice drink, want to try some?"
The half-asleep girl’s consciousness was actually a mush, she smacked her lips, muttering, "Mm..."
Da Bao blinked, his dark eyes full of interest and mischief. He bit down on the straw and took a big sip of the icy slushy. Leaning over, as his lips, slightly cold, touched Nuonuo’s soft and warm lips, the girl seemed startled, her eyes suddenly opened wide.
The fear in her eyes quickly faded upon seeing Da Bao, replaced with mild annoyance, "Mmm..."
It seemed she wanted to say something, but Da Bao seized the opportunity, pushing his tongue forward, he transferred the cool, sweet fruit and slushy into her mouth.
Da Bao certainly wouldn’t do a losing trade. After feeding her the slushy, he kissed her deeply, and after releasing her with a smile of satisfaction, he watched her groggily chew on the fruit and slush in her mouth, "How does it taste?"
Nuonuo, originally in her dream, was strolling in a park with her beloved Brother Dabao, the breeze lightly caressing her face, birds chirping and jumping on the tree branches above her...
Suddenly, a sweet, cool juice flooded her mouth, the refreshing ice mixed with soft watermelon, jolting her awake.
When she fully woke up, the slushy was already swallowed into her stomach. Meeting Da Bao’s playful eyes, she nodded, propped herself up, trying to sit up.
"Want more?"
Nuonuo nodded, reaching for the half-drunk watermelon slushy on the coffee table.
Da Bao got to it first, but instead of handing it to her, he took a big sip himself, then leaned in again, his intentions clear: I’ll feed you!
Nuonuo licked her lips, instinctively wanting to avoid it, but a big hand firmly held the back of her head, "Brother..."
Before she could say anything, Da Bao’s cold lips landed again. With the prior experience, Da Bao easily transferred the slushy into the little girl’s mouth.
The intense warmth rushed from her neck to her cheeks, Nuonuo now understood the phrase ’two extremes of hot and cold.’
At this moment, her mouth was icy cold, but her face was hot enough to fry an egg.
Da Bao’s eyes were full of laughter. He gave her no chance to resist, feeding her the entire cup of slushy, one sip at a time.
Once Nuonuo was forced to swallow more than half of the slushy, Da Bao finally released her, holding the empty cup, striding to the kitchen under her fiery gaze that looked like she wanted to kill him.
In the blink of an eye, he returned with another cup of slushy.
Nuonuo eyed the bright red slushy in his hand, instinctively curling back into the sofa’s depths.
"Brother, I don’t want any more..."
The little girl loved watermelon slushies very much, it’s just that the way Brother fed her made her extremely shy. Thankfully, it was just the two of them here, otherwise, if others or family saw them so intimately, she’d probably want to bash her head against the wall and end it right there.
Da Bao calmly moved her feet to sit down on the sofa, biting the straw, took a deep sip, swallowed, and then let out a satisfied sigh.
"Ah, refreshing!"
Nuonuo stared at the movement of his Adam’s apple, lost in thought, until she snapped back to reality, dumbly asking, "How did you know I bought a watermelon?"
Da Bao leaned over to peck her lips, then lightly tapped her head with a curved finger, "I saw it when I opened the fridge, silly!"
