Chapter 809: Chapter 807: I Missed You... (Second Update)

Seconds later, a prominent declaration appeared on Da Bao’s Weibo: "I’m taken, all single dogs please detour!"

Da Bao’s statement on Weibo instantly dropped a massive bomb at both the branch office and the Ji Family headquarters, shattering the hearts of a bunch of fanciful girls secretly hoping to become the wife of the Ji Family Crown Prince.

And the instigator of this so-called tragic incident was gently coaxing his beloved little sister in his office. Only after much effort did he manage to cheer up the little girl, happily taking the just-comforted little vinegar jar back to the dormitory.

"Brother, where’s the key to your room?"

Having been startled once, Nuonuo had become much smarter. Upon entering, she wasn’t in a hurry to show off the pretty soup and baked rice she had spent over two hours preparing. Instead, she wanted to inspect on the spot to see if her Brother Da Bao had been disciplined in her absence.

Da Bao instantly understood her intentions and, smiling happily, placed the key in her snowy-white palm.

"Please, wife, inspect!"

The shameless teasing from the young man instantly made Nuonuo blush.

She rolled her eyes at him fiercely, turned, and quickly walked to the room door, using the key to unlock it.

The bedroom style was exactly like the living room, so simple and clean that it was almost uninhabited. On the snow-white tidy bed lay neatly folded pillows and bedding. Beside the bed was a wooden bedside cabinet, on which an open book and Da Bao’s iPad, used for playing games, were placed. Opposite the bed was a row of wooden wall cabinets, presumably wardrobes and utility cabinets.

Nuonuo stood outside the door without moving, quickly scanning the room with an inspecting gaze. Da Bao stepped into the room ahead of her and opened all the doors of the wall cabinets.

"Please inspect thoroughly..." A meaningful smile hung on his handsome face, making Nuonuo want to kick off her slippers directly at his face.

"So simple, there’s no human touch at all..." Although Nuonuo was somewhat annoyed by Da Bao’s excessive smugness, she couldn’t hide the fact that she felt a pang of heartache.

Her Brother Da Bao, though not living an extravagant life, shouldn’t be living in a place so simplistic that there were no entertainment facilities aside from sleeping.

Even the kitchen was spotless, and she was almost certain she was the first person to use those kitchen utensils.

"Silly, I’m here for work, not to enjoy life!"

Of course, Da Bao wouldn’t tell Nuonuo that he spent most of his days in the office and only returned when it was time to sleep. Calculating with his fingers, he didn’t spend more than six hours per day on average in this dormitory.

All of Nuonuo’s complaints and dissatisfaction were instantly stuck in her throat, unable to come out.

She stood outside the door for a few seconds, until Da Bao came over to remind her, "What soup did you make for me? Smells so good!" Then she remembered the pot of carefully stewed slow-cooked soup and the pot of baked ribs rice in the kitchen.

"I just learned from Mommy. It’s my first time trying to cook it today. I don’t know how it tastes."

Nuonuo, arm in arm with Da Bao, shyly entered the kitchen, feeling quite unsure about her cooking skills.

Da Bao couldn’t even bother to wash his hands and opened the pot lid, picking up a spoon to scoop up some soup, bringing it under his nose to sniff hard a few times, "Hmm... really fragrant!"

After complimenting, he directly brought the spoon to his mouth, blew on it, and drank the soup, then with a satisfied expression, smacked his lips a few times before speaking to the eagerly expecting Nuonuo.

"The taste is super amazing! It’s on par with what Mommy makes!"

Surprises gleamed in Nuonuo’s eyes, "Really? I thought it was quite ordinary!"

Following that, Da Bao showed in action by finishing the soup till the very bottom of the pot, proving to Nuonuo that the soup she made was genuinely delicious.

The pot of baked ribs rice also received Da Bao’s great appreciation and praise, and he ate three large bowls in one go.

Nuonuo normally had a small appetite, but seeing Da Bao enjoying the meal so much, she became happy and ended up eating half a bowl more than usual.

After the meal, both lay half-leaning on the sofa with stuffed bellies.

"Whew... so full!" Da Bao exhaled a long breath, extending his hand to gently rub circles on Nuonuo’s small rounded belly to aid digestion.

"As long as Brother likes it, I’ll keep cooking for you in the future."

Nuonuo shyly extended her hand, learning from Da Bao, helped rub his tummy.

"Hmm, cook for me for a lifetime!" Da Bao placed his free hand on hers, interlocking their fingers tightly!

"Hmm..."

Nuonuo softly responded, her fingers tightening in response to Da Bao’s affection.

And so, the two lay there tête-à-tête on the sofa, wrapped in warmth, with the early summer heat flowing through the air, gradually making Da Bao feel his blood boil, palms getting sweaty.

Da Bao took a deep breath and forcibly suppressed the rising flame in his heart, "Nuonuo..."

"Hmm?!" The little girl’s voice was lazy and drowsy, playfully plucking at Da Bao’s tense heartstrings like fingertips.

"Why didn’t you tell me before coming over?"

Da Bao’s tone was as usual, but only heaven knew how oppressed he felt right now. Logically, he told himself to try to change the subject, to cool down his heated heart.

Nuonuo, with a hint of sleepiness, lazily opened her eyes slightly and replied, "I missed you..."

This heartfelt confession from Nuonuo, if said in her clear-headed state, might not have come out so unapologetically.

But having just finished lunch, her brain was in semi-shutdown, and upon hearing Da Bao’s question, she spoke her heart without much thought.

Little did she know, her response was tantamount to adding fuel to the fire!

Da Bao suddenly turned over, easily pulling the drowsy girl into his arms, and as if a storm, his tender kisses rained down wildly on her forehead, face, and lips. Originally sleepy-eyed, Nuonuo was jolted awake by his intense passion and though she wanted to push him away, it was no longer possible.

Once he had embraced and kissed her to his heart’s content, the little girl was left with faint breaths, lying on him and panting like their household Dahuai.

"Brother..." Nuonuo called out weakly.

"Hmm?"

Da Bao was idly twirling her hair around his fingers, satisfaction oozing from him like a well-fed and well-rested big dog.

"Did you not see the message I sent you yesterday?" Nuonuo realized she needed to address being ignored.

Da Bao paused for a moment, "Message, what message?"

Nuonuo huffed, turning her head to feign sleep on top of him.

Humming, Da Bao reached for the phone on the coffee table, opened it, and discovered several unread messages inside. In addition to the weather report, there were two messages from clients, and another was a notification of good news from Nuonuo.
