Chapter 689: Chapter 687 Nuonuo Misses Brother? (Part 3)

Little Treasure and Nuonuo looked at Da Bao in unison. When the three brothers were united, Brother Dabao was undoubtedly the best spokesperson.

"Daddy, we all really like everything about the house, so there’s no need to rearrange anything."

It must be said that Ji Rui doesn’t understand the children as well as Le Tong does.

This home, Da Bao has been here since he was six, and for Nuonuo and Little Treasure, all their childhood memories are etched here.

Toward the scenery and everything in this house, including the two dogs, several cats, and every flower and plant, the three brothers have feelings that can’t be easily explained!

So when Daddy talked about redecorating or changing things, they couldn’t bear it!

"So...change nothing at all?" Ji Rui was uncertain; he thought the kids would be overjoyed about his suggestion.

"Right, change nothing at all!"

Da Bao made a decisive conclusion, holding his brother and sister’s hands, turned back to continue being their confidant brother, listening to the two little ones chat about school gossip.

As a father, Ji Rui felt a bit defeated, "I thought they’d be very happy!"

Le Tong gave him a sidelong glance, "The kids’ thoughts are just like you not wanting to touch the big house at all; every corner of the house and every plant in the yard is filled with their childhood memories. If you say you’re going to change it, it’s no wonder they won’t fight you on it!"

"Alright then, let’s leave the slide and swing for their kids in the future!" Ji Rui said to comfort himself.

Le Tong glanced at the backs of the kids in front, "Hmm, that idea sounds more reasonable."

The family of five went to the supermarket, as usual; Da Bao and Little Treasure each pushed a shopping cart.

One cart was for snacks, and the other was for groceries.

The two adults, along with the three quite grown-up kids, wandered around the supermarket for more than an hour. Whether it was the cart Da Bao pushed for groceries or the one Little Treasure used for snacks, both were piled up like small hills.

As the couple each pushed a cart and queued to check out, Ji Rui laughed and said to Le Tong.

"The cashier will probably think we run a cafeteria."

Le Tong shook her head in denial, "No way, it’s more like I’ve raised a pen full of pigs at home!"

Then, this pen of pigs went outside and had the driver take several large bags of snacks and groceries back home, while the family of five slowly walked back along their usual route.

"Strange, it seems like there weren’t any candies among the snacks just now?" Ji Rui clearly remembered that every time they went to the supermarket with the kids, they’d end up with a bunch of candies, and finally, after Le Tong negotiated with the kids, about a third would be kept.

"A new candy store just opened on the corner, didn’t you know?" Le Tong answered unexpectedly.

"Are you saying they secretly went to buy candies at the candy store?"

Ji Rui doesn’t like snacks, especially not sweets like candies.

But all three kids take after their mom, loving sweets. To protect their teeth, Le Tong, being the mom, has strictly controlled their candy intake since they were small.

"Not secretly, Da Bao went to buy them."

The interactions between Da Bao with Little Treasure and Nuonuo when they returned in the evening; although Le Tong didn’t see it firsthand, she could roughly guess it.

Ji Rui was puzzled, "Aren’t you going to do anything about it?"

Le Tong shook her head, "Not nothing, just making an exception this time. Da Bao has been working hard these few days, buying some candy to please his brother and sister. I can’t be so unfeeling as to ruin the kids’ fun."

With their mom not ruining their fun, the three brothers, once home, nestled into the playroom. Da Bao and Little Treasure took gaming consoles and started a great battle, each with a small jar of candies by their side. Meanwhile, Nuonuo held the candy jar in her arms, reading and eating.

"Brother, I’ll accompany you to the company tomorrow."

Little Treasure had been holding onto these words for a while. The massive online game Glory Network, after seeing the initial character designs and game framework, had him drooling. Now with the game about to be launched, how could he not be envious?

"No, there are still some important data to modify these days; maybe next Saturday."

Little Treasure got a precise time and didn’t pester Da Bao anymore.

Nuonuo read for a while, then gradually got bored, so she crawled over to sit next to Da Bao watching the brothers’ duel.

"Why, not reading anymore?" Da Bao multitasked, still focused on the screen, and his hands kept moving, but his question was directed at Nuonuo.

"Not reading anymore, it’s quite boring." Nuonuo leaned closer to him, and Da Bao leaned slightly, letting her lean against his back.

"What book?" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

The playroom was filled with the roaring sounds of games, so naturally, Da Bao didn’t think Nuonuo was reviewing her homework.

"A book about cultivation." Nuonuo answered honestly.

"You like these kinds of books? In a few days, I’ll help you buy some interesting ones!"

The company had a large group of tech guys, and many of them loved reading cultivation books. Da Bao planned to ask about it when he returned to work the next day and have someone buy a few books to please the little girl.

Nuonuo responded with an "oh," paused for a moment, then asked, "Brother, aren’t you coming home tomorrow?"

Da Bao indeed wished to come home every day, but during this period, it was crucial for Glory Network’s future prospects. He couldn’t ruin the entire company’s efforts just for his personal desires.

"Hmm, I might have to stay at the company for about ten more days." Da Bao answered truthfully.

Nuonuo wrapped her arms around his waist, burying her face into his back and rubbed, murmuring, "I see..."

Da Bao, feeling quite soft-hearted, "I promise I’ll come home at least once a week. Will that do?"

"Really? You have to keep your word, brother!"

Nuonuo was a satisfied little girl, even if it was just once a week, it made her almost jump with joy.

"Of course! When have I ever lied to you!"

"Brother, it’s not about you not coming back that’s the problem; it’s more like dealing with me being tired!" Da Bao finally managed to comfort Nuonuo, and then Little Treasure started to complain.

"Oh? What makes you tired?" Da Bao became interested.

"Sister sighs and moans in my ear every day, annoying me to the point of wanting to punch someone!"

Little Treasure didn’t hold back in making a complaint.

"I didn’t!" Nuonuo blushed again, kicked Little Treasure lightly from behind, though the kick wasn’t hard.

"Ow, that really hurt! Brother, Sister is bullying me, I’m not playing anymore!"

Little Treasure tossed the gaming console aside and rolled onto the carpet, pretending to be dead.

Da Bao swept his foot over to give him a light kick, "You lost, so take it, what a cheat!"

Little Treasure held his knees, crying "ow ow," loudly, not caring whether Da Bao and Nuonuo believed him or not.

Da Bao, too lazy to deal with the drama king, reached out, grabbed Nuonuo’s hand, and pulled her in front of him, looking up at her, "When Brother isn’t home, do you miss Brother?"

Actually, this separation was something they had experienced years ago, when Da Bao went to college and participated in military training.
