He saw a deep and dark Void, where countless purple energy particles, like grains of sand, formed a splendid veil-like Milky Way.

All beings able to move here are conscious entities, with even the lowest level manifesting in Spirit Body form. Sometimes one may encounter colossal ethereal beings referred to as Guides by the outside world. Almost all races that have undergone Spiritual Ascension have had contact with these Guides. However, not all Guides are benevolent; some may even be impersonations by unknown terrifying creatures.

The Void Realm values contracts.

To achieve the ultimate result of Spiritual Ascension in the Void Realm and enjoy its endless Spiritual Power, all races undergoing Spiritual Ascension must sign a contract with the Guides.

Unfortunately.

Emperor Edward I of the Empire signed the contract known as—Whisper of the Void.

This is a typical trap of the Void Realm.

Generally speaking, races that rely on their own research to climb the tech tree to meet the conditions for Spiritual Ascension are aware of the pitfalls within such contracts, and more importantly, understand what terrifying entity presents such contracts.

Yet, unfortunately.

The Empire on this planet did not climb the tech tree with its own ability; they accepted the gifts from the Ancient Lost Empire, leaping directly from the feudal age into the interstellar Spiritual Energy era, with their territory at its peak even colonizing neighboring Star Systems.

Of course.

They did not have the ability to manufacture spaceships; they only repaired an interstellar battleship from the Lost Empire with warp speed navigation capabilities.

Edward I did not perceive the trap, nor did anyone else in the Empire foresee it.

They ecstatically signed the contract and accepted the gifts from the Void Realm.

The blessings descended.

The massive Spiritual Power of the Void Realm descended upon the Empire through the Star Gate; for a time, almost everyone could wield Spiritual Energy. But soon the Pollution began.

The outbreak of Whisper of the Void quickly corrupted all high officials of the Empire, as massive amounts of negative Energy began to converge, even polluting the Spirit Body they gathered imperial forces to form, a pan-conscious entity known as the ’Void Spirit Saint’.

Destruction descended.

Within those fragmented memories, Su Ziyu saw an incredibly huge virtual shadow, resembling a barren planet, instantly devouring all Spirit Bodies upon its appearance.

"Alert! Alert!"

"Detected a Mental Shock!..."

The sudden crisis interrupted Su Ziyu’s consciousness. He swiftly cut off the attached information within the Divinity, directly reaching out towards the Ancient Abomination ahead.

The flow of consciousness is actually different from that of the outside world, leaving Su Ziyu dazed for roughly just one second.

Yet he received an enormous amount of information.

Boom!

The ground suddenly cracked beneath Su Ziyu’s feet, almost at the very moment he reached out to grab Edward I’s head. A giant worm emerged from below, its bloody mouth directly biting at the corpse of the Ancient Abomination. Before Su Ziyu could react, Edward I was left with only a head, the rest of the neck having already been swallowed by that ash worm.

A skyful of acid spray ensued.

The giant scorpion in the distance also turned its turret to aim at Su Ziyu, sending dozens of shells toward him in an instant.

"Not good."

"Those bugs want to take me out too!" Su Ziyu, holding Edward I’s solitary head, leaped to a height of over a hundred meters, then reached towards the Heaven.

An explosion of electric serpents erupted in an instant.

Over ten thousand Insect Race creatures remained on the battlefield; Su Ziyu could barely exhaust them. He could effortlessly kill the Ancient Abomination mainly because the Insect Race first depleted most of the enemy’s power.

The Ancient Abomination’s two layers of Energy Force Field protection had been breached by them.

"Retreat first," Su Ziyu decisively broke through towards the outskirts of the battlefield.

A hundred, a thousand, even ten thousand alien insects he had the ability to challenge, but when expanded to over ten thousand, his chances of victory were extremely low.

The recently summoned Lightning Storm instantly killed thousands of alien insects, creating a clear zone in the Heaven, allowing Su Ziyu to break through in a direction without enemies. After penetrating the outer interference barrier, he immediately executed a Mind Teleportation to escape the battlefield.

"Do not pursue."

"Bring back the corpses of the calamity!" An eerie whisper echoed.

The ash worm underground, having bitten off most of the Ancient Abomination’s corpse, immediately burrowed back into the ground. The cooperation of the Swarm was highly coordinated; once the ash worm succeeded, other insects launched an attack on Su Ziyu, giving him no breathing space.
