Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas-Chapter 420: You have to respect his decision
As soon as I placed the croissant in my mouth, it melted in a heavenly sweetness and I couldn’t help but close my eyes and melt along with it.
This... This is definitely worth dying for.
But then I suddenly slammed the fork on the table, startling the owner and causing Min-Cheol to furrow his eyebrows like something was wrong.
"You..." I said, my eyes turning serious. "Are you sure you wanna stay as the owner of this place?"
To them, my words might’ve sounded like I was discontent, and this caused the owner to feel intimidated.
At a glance, you could see how much time and effort he put into making these. He was so good at his job, and proud of it too, but no matter how proud he was, he knew he had to bend his back and bow his head to whom he had to bow his head to, if he wanted to run this establishment smoothly and without a hitch.
"I... I don’t understand." He said, his grip on his arm tightening by the second. "Is the croissant not to your liking, sir?"
"Not to my liking? That’s not possible." I said. "But you haven’t answered my question yet. Are you sure you want to stay here?"
"Yes, sir." He answered, managing to keep his head high. "I want to stay in this place. I will put my soul and my everything into my work to make sure every single customer who tastes the pastries I create will taste their sweetness and be glad at heart."
I heard this and sighed.
"Well, that’s too bad," I said and then grinned. "I would’ve really loved to hire you as our personal pastry chef. But what can I do when you wish to feed more mouths?" I laughed.
"This..." The confusion was finally set aside and the chef’s rising and falling chest fell at ease.
He thought there was something wrong, but it turned out to be a scouting offer because he had made such good sweets.
"You want to hire him, Hyung?" Min-Cheol asked as he watched me stuff my mouth over and over with no sign of stopping.
"Yeah, but it’s a shame," I said, mindlessly. "He’s probably the best in the world. I’ll definitely become his loyal customer from now on."
Min-Cheol smiled at how happy I was but then turned his body to face the chef who was standing there, touched by my compliment.
"Decide. Do you want to keep your shop and work for us, or do you want to lose everything altogether?" His ’lighthearted’ threat almost made me choke.
I ended up coughing and had to soothe my burning throat with the strawberry milk that had been refilled.
That sweetness gets me every time.
"Are you okay, Hyung?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yes but... Little Min!" I called out and began to scold him. "You have to respect his decision."
"But you want him to bake for you every day, Hyung."
"Even if," I said and then clicked my tongue. "Let the man do what he wants to do. I don’t want to hinder his dream just because I want to eat at special parties daily. I mean, I might not even eat it all the time so it’s not bad to just send someone to pick up an order once in a while. Please don’t overdo it. You’re scaring the poor man."
Anyone who hears a threat that his establishment, the one he poured his blood and sweat into to make sure it was successful, was going to be taken away would immediately have a heart attack.
I commend this guy’s guts. I truly do.
"Please forget what he said," I said to the chef. "He’s just looking out for me since he has a thing where he wants to get the best for me. I’ll be your faithful customer and..." I immediately came up with a great idea. "...I’ll invest a lot too."
He flinched, as he did not see that coming.
"So, continue to make delicious treats like this, okay?" I smiled and Min-Cheol pouted, rolling his eyes away in dissatisfaction.
Okay, things might actually turn ugly if this goes on so I waved the chef away politely and then turned to Min-Cheol.
"Are you mad?" I asked, the little teaspoon sticking to my lips.
"No, Hyung."
"Liar," I said and he rolled his eyes back to me, looking sad. "You’re mad and sad. Why? Did I upset you?"
"No, Hyung. You didn’t upset me." He said. "I just... Didn’t like that you smiled at another man right next to me."
I paused.
Huh?
"You were smiling too happily because of the sweets, but at the end, it’s because of him. Do you like him, Hyung?"
I got up and then flicked his forehead.
"Ouch, Hyung?"
Yes, I should be pampering the patient but I can’t not hit him when he says silly things like that.
"Sure, he makes great treats, and I smiled at him, but was I supposed to frown? He made such delicious treats, should I have glared at him and said, ’Thank you’? So, does smiling at him make me like him? Little Min, do you hear yourself?"
"But Hyung..."
"Don’t ’but’ me, Little Min. Just think about it. If I liked every single person I smile at, then I’d probably like every single person who’s helped me in my life. And from the way you said it, sexually, right? Does that sound right to you?"
He went silent, his eyes down and his expression sullen.
I sighed.
"Sorry, Hyung." He said. "I got jealous."
Yeah, I heard it the first time.
"I like the sweets he makes," I said to him. "And I like that he’s a great baker, but I don’t like him as a man. Do you understand?"
He could barely nod so he used his lips to speak. There’s no getting away from giving a verbal response now.
"Yes, Hyung. I understand."
"Phew, you almost ruined my appetite, Little Min."
"Sorry, Hyung."
"Well, it’s an ’almost’. Nothing will stop me from devouring as much as I can. And..." I looked at his front. "...you should have some too."
But he didn’t move. He was sulking.
After scolding a big baby, I ought to pacify them so they feel better, right?
I took a look around the table. What is best suited to his taste buds? I saw the pie, took a scoop from it, and then raised it.
Yeah, let’s feed him a little until he feels better.
"I’m gonna feed you, Little Min," I said and he raised his gaze. "I can’t let my baby feel sad for too long, right?" I smiled and I watched his face blush a light shade of pink.
His entire head was going to turn pink at this rate and I chuckled.
"Why? You don’t want me to feed you out in public?" I tasted. "Since you’re one of the powerful Alphas, you don’t want to ruin your reputation?"
"No, Hyung." He immediately shot back, as if desperate. "None of that matters," he said and his gaze softened, shy but straight, looking into my eyes as he shamelessly said, "As long as I can be your baby, nothing else matters." He mumbled and I felt a light throb in my heart.
He was so cute. So adorable... I wanted to kiss him, but we were outside so I decided to hold that off for a while.
I could squeeze his cheeks and then... And then... What would happen next?
That handsome face, shyly blushing at me as he longed to be treated like a baby, made me want to do a few ’things’ to him.
But I shook my head.
Let’s not get carried away.
I fed him the first bite, and his face lit up at the taste.
I felt happy, seeing him happy. And I planned to keep feeding him for a while longer when he called out to my attention.
"Hyung," Min-Cheol called. "You... You’re releasing your Pheromones right now." He said and I jolted.
Really?
"It’s quite potent." He added, placing his hand over his face. "If you continue like that, we’re going to get in trouble."
This isn’t my fault. The feeling of lust was suddenly taking over me and I was having such thoughts out in the open.
I needed to think happy thoughts.
Yes, happy thoughts. Something that didn’t have to do with sex or pouncing on this man.
"Hyung," Min-Cheol called and I began to panic.
"Don’t tell me it’s getting stronger," I said. I couldn’t feel it so I didn’t know exactly how to stop it from spilling out.
"No, Hyung." He said. "I think it’s getting better now."
Hearing that, I felt relieved. I was glad it stopped before others began to perceive it.
Heat Pheromones were no joke.
"That’s a relief," I said but the blush on his face did not clear from his face. Rather, he seemed a little... Uncomfortable. "What’s wrong?" I asked but he did not respond to me right away.
I noticed him squirming a bit and that was when I realized...
At once, I raised my hand and said,
"Pack everything. There’s something urgent we have to take care of, so we have to leave right now."
