Transmigrated Young Master's Yandere Harem-Chapter 49: Incoming Danger
While Azael and Sophia were talking, somewhere far away from them, in another part of Elaris City, something else was happening.
The lively streets, bright lights, and laughter of the entertainment district were nowhere to be found here.
This part of the city was quiet, old, and poorly maintained. Many houses were abandoned, their windows broken and doors hanging loosely on rusted hinges. The street lamps barely worked, and most of the area was covered in darkness.
At the end of one such street stood an old abandoned house.
Its walls were cracked, the roof partially broken, and weeds had grown all around it. From the outside, it looked completely empty, like no one had stepped inside for years.
But that was not true.
Inside the house, under the wooden floor, there was a basement.
And inside that basement, a small lantern burned dimly, lighting up the dark room with a weak yellow glow.
There were four people gathered there.
All of them wore dark cloaks with hoods covering their faces. Their faces were partially visible in the dim light, and their expressions were cold and serious.
The first man was tall and broad-shouldered, with a rough beard visible under the hood.
The second man was lean and tall, with sharp eyes and a long scar across his jaw. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
The woman had long dark hair, pale skin, and cold eyes that looked emotionless.
The fourth man was older than the others, with a calm face, short hair, and deep, calculating eyes.
One of them slammed his fist on the wooden table in the center of the basement, his face full of anger.
"They killed them... all of them..." he said in a low but furious voice.
Another man, who was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, spoke calmly, his expression cold.
"The Duchess, her daughter, and her knights have been hunting us for a few days. What did you expect? We were exposed."
The first man gritted his teeth in anger.
"They didn’t just hunt us. They slaughtered us like animals. Our safe houses, our contacts, our supplies... everything is gone."
A third person, a woman, spoke from the corner where she was sitting on a chair, her face calm but her eyes cold.
"We underestimated her," she said quietly. "The Duchess is not just some noble sitting in a mansion. She is ruthless. Efficient, and her knights are well trained."
The fourth person, who had been silent until now, finally spoke. His voice was calm, but it carried a dangerous tone.
"We are the last four."
The room fell silent for a few seconds.
The Obsidian Hand.
Once a feared underground organization that dealt in smuggling, assassination, illegal magic items, information trade, and more mysteries. No one knew what their true goal was.
Now almost completely destroyed.
And these four people were the survivors.
The first man spoke again, this time more quietly, his expression bitter.
"We should leave the city. There is nothing left for us here."
The man leaning against the wall immediately shook his head, his eyes filled with anger.
"Leave? And run like cowards? After they killed our brothers? After they burned our hideouts and hunted us like dogs?"
The woman spoke again, her voice calm but serious. "If we stay, we will die."
The fourth man slowly walked toward the table and placed both of his hands on it.
"We were never afraid of death," he said calmly. "We joined the Obsidian Hand knowing very well how this life ends."
He looked at each of them one by one.
"They destroyed our organization in this city. It might be small here... but they killed our people. They killed our comrades. They took a part of us. This is unforgivable..."
His eyes turned cold. He had decided.
"So we will take something from them."
The first man frowned. "What do you mean?"
The fourth man spoke slowly.
"We cannot harm the Duchess directly. Her mansion is heavily guarded. Her knights are always around her. Attacking her directly would be suicide."
The man against the wall smirked slightly.
"Then what? Attack her knights?"
"No," the fourth man said. "We attack her territory."
The woman narrowed her eyes slightly. "You mean... the city?"
"Yes."
The room became quiet again.
The fourth man continued,
"If we cannot kill the ruler, we make the ruler suffer. We destroy what she is supposed to protect."
The first man slowly understood, and a cruel smile appeared on his face.
"We cause chaos..."
The man against the wall added with a dark smile, "Burn buildings... kill citizens... destroy markets... spread fear... we were never meant to be afraid... we were meant to kill... to dominate."
The woman closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them again.
"This will not hurt her physically... but it will damage her reputation. People will start to think she cannot protect them." A smile broke on her face.
The fourth man nodded. "Exactly. And even if we die doing this... we will still get our revenge."
The first man started laughing quietly.
"Good... good... if we are going to die anyway, we might as well take a part of this city with us."
The man against the wall pushed himself away and walked toward the table.
"So what’s the plan?"
The fourth man took out a rough map of the city and spread it on the table.
"We attack multiple places. Not at the same time, but one after another. Start fires, cause panic, kill people in crowded places, poison wells if possible... we make the city restless."
The woman looked at the map and pointed at a few places.
"Market district... slums... warehouse area near the river... if these places are attacked, the city will go into chaos."
The first man nodded slowly, his expression getting excited.
"And when the knights are busy running around trying to control everything... we strike somewhere big."
The fourth man smiled slightly.
"Yes... one final attack before we die."
He looked at the lantern flame for a few seconds and then spoke in a cold voice.
"We are members of the Obsidian Hand. We do not forgive our enemies."
The other three nodded. Even if it cost their lives... they were going to take revenge.
They were not afraid. They wouldn’t return to their headquarters after failing to create a base in this city. They were failures. So they would take revenge, even if death came for them.
They wouldn’t stop.
---
"All right, it’s done."
The mana contract in her hand slowly turned into ashes as she nullified it.
Sophia said with a charming smile,
"It’s done! She’s free now. You can do whatever you want with her."
Ria, who was standing behind Azael’s sofa, had a happy expression. Her hands clenched into fists. Tears gathered at the corners of her eyes. She couldn’t believe that she was actually free now.
Azael had already paid the price to Sophia.
Sophia smiled and said, "So, Sir Ethan, it seems like our deal is done."
Azael nodded slightly and then got up and sat beside her. "Oh... yes, it is. But..." he said calmly.
Then he looked at her and spoke in a sweet voice, "Well, since our deal is done... how about we have a nice talk? You don’t want it to end so early?"
This made one of her brows raise in surprise.
She leaned slightly closer to him.
"Oh my~ you are really bold, aren’t you?" She didn’t seem offended or taken aback. Rather, she showed some interest.
Azael smiled under the mask and said,
"I only came here for buying Ria. But after seeing you... how could I remain normal?"
Azael took her soft left hand in his right hand and caressed it gently.
"I know... you are not someone I could afford... no... no one could afford a beauty like you. Not with any kind of money." He leaned more closer to her.
Her soft and warm breathing hit against his mask.
Too bad he couldn’t feel it.
Sophia was more surprised by his words. "My~ my~ you really have a sweet mouth, Sir Ethan."
Her huge breasts rose and fell with each breath.
"Hehe~ what can I do... after seeing you... I cannot help but want to get closer to you... too bad... I know I have no chance with a lady like you."
His sweet words made Sophia blush. Her cheeks turned light pink.
Ria, who was happy a few moments ago, was now looking at Azael and Sophia with a horrified expression.
"Aza–Sir Ethan... you shouldn’t–" she was trying to stop Azael from flirting with Sophia. But Sophia raised her free hand and stopped her from talking.
Ria stopped immediately.
Sophia gently touched his hand back and spoke softly, "Sir Ethan... by your voice, gestures, your skin... your touch... you look like quite a young man. Yet you are attracted to an old woman like me... you are not saying this just to get a favor from me, are you? But again... I cannot feel any lie from you. I feel like you are honest."
