Transmigrated To A Beastworld As The Lazy Wife Of The Fox Lord-Chapter 29: The power of Elias.
Sienna was not afraid. She was confident that if the matter went to court, the Wiener’s would lose more than her. They had started it, first of all and secondly, Susie was the one that bolted towards her with a clenched fist. As for Patience Murchison, everyone had seen her claws out.
Thousands of viewers in the livestream would testify to this. The Veythar’s would also stand by her side.
Mrs. Miller struggled to her feet. "We can explain." she croaked.
Sienna lifted her chin, defiant. "Mom, what is there to explain? The Wiener’s insulted us and Susie attempted to punch me. I am human, so is she. It’s not as if I had any claws to use to defend myself, so I swung the pan. As for Patience, good luck getting her statement. I heard she found new accommodations elsewhere. If they did not want to be hit, they should not have pissed me off."
Te lion officer’s growl was low and dangerous. "The law does not bend for your temper. You must come with us and answer for your actions."
Before they could whip out handcuffs or press further, the air in the room shifted. A cold wind seemed to sweep through the door that Soren had forgotten to close. The enforcers stiffened, their ears flattening. Sienna’s heart skipped. She knew that aura.
From the shadows of the entrance, the Fox Lord appeared.
He was taller than the enforcers, cloaked in midnight black, his fox ears sharp and alert, his six tails trailing behind him like living ropes of clouds. If clouds could kill. His eyes were cold, like they were most of the time and they made everyone on the room freeze.
The lion officer bowed immediately, retracting his mane. The bear officer dropped his notepad, retracting his claws and fur.
"My lord," they stammered.
Elias’s voice was cold enough to cut stone. "You dare question my wife in my city? Without informing me first. How bold of you!"
Sienna swallowed hard. Brave and occasionally loud as she was, Elias’s presence overwhelmed her in moments like this. For some reason, she wondered what it would be like to be loved by a man like this. A man with little warmth--no, he did have warmth, but it was saved for their cubs and his family. His love was a fortress, protective but intimidating.
The lion officer tried to speak. "The complaint---"
"Dismissed." Elias’s tails flicked once and the officers backed away as though struck. "Now."
They fled without a word.
Mrs. Miller trembled, torn between awe and fear. Soren stared wide-eyed at the Fox lord, who now turned his gaze upon Sienna.
"You," he said, voice low and dangerous. "Pack your things. You and your family will follow me back to the Veythar estate. Now."
Sienna bristled. "I was only defending myself---"
His eyes silenced her. "You are mine. This city is mine. No one touches you without facing me. But you will not shame me and the Veythar name with reckless fights in the streets like a thug."
Sienna clenched her hands. "A thug! Did..."
Mrs. Miller touched Sienna’s arm gently. "Sienna...listen to him."
Sienna’s defiance faltered. She knew Elias’s coldness was not cruelty--it was power, the kind that kept enemies at bay and ensured her safety. It gave her the ability to walk side ways on the beast continent without fear. Still, she was not a fan of being commanded to do as he wanted, whenever he wanted. He had seen her fighting, had he missed the part where someone called her a slut?
"Come," her mother urged.
They packed quickly, the hotel room suddenly feeling too small, too fragile against his authority. As they followed him out, the city seemed to bow in silence. Beast men guards lined the streets, heads and tails lowered in respect.
Sienna walked beside her mother and brother, her heart conflicted. She was a human in a world of beasts, married to one who had incredible power that frightened but protected her. If he had not arrived, maybe she would have been marched out of the hotel in handcuffs, putting a dent in her lesson on respect from the fox clan.
As they climbed aboard the flying ship, guests were released from the hotel. Sienna could clearly see what looked like an eviction. "What is happening?" she asked.
Timothy replied, "You were disrespected on their grounds, so they must be punished. Lord Elias has ordered for the hotel to be closed for a month. All the employees that stood around and watched when you were insulted are to be fired."
Sienna watched Elias disappear into the pilot’s cabin and she sighed. He had done this for her! She shook her head. It was probably because disrespecting her meant disrespecting him?
And that could not be tolerated.
"Is there anything else he has done that I should know about?" She asked curiously.
"The doctor who treated your mother has been hired permanently to serve you." Timothy told her. "He will be arriving tonight. The hotel manager too, from today, he will serve as the butler at your cottages or your personal assistant. The choice is yours. You don’t have to worry about the lawsuit you were threatened with, we will take care of it."
Sienna blinked. So he was just deciding things for her as he wished! The feeling of lashing out in a temper tantrum stayed with her. She was grateful for the help, but there was just something about it all that made her want to scream.
Mrs. Miller could see that spark of defiance in the eyes of her daughter. It was the same one she had from her childhood when she decided that she hated their poor life and wanted better for herself. So, she taught herself to dance until her feet bled and the bones in her toes broke. But, she kept going until her dancing brought her to Clawspire city. To Elias Veythar.
From the body language between the couple, the older woman could see that they were not like a normal couple.
She coughed and took Sienna’s hand, patting it gently. "My dear, you should fight less with your husband. He may be cold, but he is supportive. He is protective of you, or else he would have let the police take you. In his way, he loves you. But he is a beast man that rules a city. A beast man that fights by the beast king’s side.
The weight he carries on his shoulder is far heavier than you will ever know. You should try to be more understanding of him."
Sienna smiled and took a deep breath. Which eye of her mother’s had seen love for her in Elias? Mrs. Miller was more naive than she imagined.
It was probably why she was conned by a husband that saddled her with two children and ran off! It seemed like she would have to teach the woman how to swing a pan when she recovered.
