Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)-Chapter 490 - 489: Meeting with the other teams
Treyton hadn’t mentioned the rules they should follow when talking about it with his uncle a few days ago, so it seemed that they had only just finalized making them, which is why Treyton hadn’t informed him yet.
"Yes, they’re already done writing the basic rules that we have to follow as leaders."
"So, how are the restrictions?"
"They’re just rules that were meant to restrict the ten teams from overusing their authority. In fact, the rules they have imposed are still very loose; they’ll likely add more later after some time passes."
"Well, they’re probably making it more enticing and aren’t putting more restrictions so that you guys won’t back out."
"Yeah, that’s likely what they considered. They’re trying to pass on some responsibility to us so, of course, they’re not going to act too tough."
Afterwards, we talked a bit more about the headquarters that the base had assigned and decided to have a meeting among the ten of us tomorrow.
"We already talked about it yesterday and decided to bring four people with us for the meeting, and the four people that we bring could also act as our substitutes if we aren’t available for future meetings. So, you should wake up a bit earlier tomorrow as you also have to come with me."
"It’s just a hassle. Just bring Yang and the others with you," Luciel said, while also stepping into the tub to soak with Treyton.
"No, as the vice leader, you also need to attend. Don’t worry, this is the only time you need to attend.
You’ll only need to show your face again if the other teams are changed after six months. As for the other meetings that follow, I and the others will handle it."
"Okay, as long as it’s only for tomorrow, I can still go."
If it was only for a day, Luciel could certainly go and show his face. He only needed to show his face and didn’t need to do anything, so it wouldn’t be too much of a hassle.
-
The two of them had already talked about it last night, but Treyton still had to wake Luciel up because he didn’t wake up early on his own, even after he felt Treyton get out of their bed.
So, after dawdling for ten minutes, Luciel got up and went downstairs with Treyton for breakfast.
After they had their breakfast; Luciel, Treyton, Yang, Zam, and Wes went to the building that would serve as the office for the top ten teams of the base.
The building that was assigned to them was just the building in front of the one where they were taking missions.
It was very obvious that the base had assigned it to them because it’s very accessible and very visible to all the teams that had to go to the mission hall to accept tasks.
All the registered teams in the base had to accept and do tasks, so going to the mission hall is mandatory.
This means it is also very easy for the top ten leaders to communicate and find the other teams, even if they’re unwilling and want to hide.
They arrived at the office on time, so when they entered, they saw that all the people from the other teams had already arrived.
Luciel looked around and saw that even though they had arrived earlier than them, most of the teams were just mingling among themselves.
Even though Luciel didn’t recognize any of them, it was still obvious that they were members of the same group based on what they were talking about and how close they were compared to the others.
As soon as they arrived, the leaders of the teams in the room greeted them. They also greeted the others briefly before Treyton asked everyone to sit down, as they were going to start their meeting.
With the addition of the members, there were fifty people in the room in total; only twenty people were sitting directly around the long table, and the other three members of each team had to sit behind them.
As the leader and vice leader, Treyton and Luciel were the ones who sat in front, while Yang, Zam, and Wes sat behind them. As the leader, Treyton began first. When Treyton introduced him as the vice leader of the team, Luciel just waved his hand a bit, said hello, and continued sitting languidly without minding the stares of the others who were obviously observing him.
After Treyton finished introducing Yang and the others, they also listened to the introductions of the others.
Luciel listened and observed the people being introduced so that he could at least recognize them later on, and also to see if they were the ones written about in the novel he had read.
In the novel, the North Base had also let the top ten teams help in managing the teams, but they had established it a year later.
Luciel wanted to know if the people in the room were the same ones written in the book. He listened to their introductions and remembered that less than half of the members were the same.
Of course, he might have forgotten some names, but he was still sure that he hadn’t forgotten most of them.
The other people in the room might have originally died already or would encounter accidents later on that would diminish their team’s strength—that’s why they weren’t included in the top ten in the book.
Of course, it’s also possible that a few stronger teams had emerged, which is why the other teams in the room weren’t included in the top ten in the original timeline.
Well, he didn’t really care much about them as long as they weren’t a hassle and didn’t bother him.
The leader of the teams was still their team and the main representative was still Treyton, just like in the novel, but their team was already stronger than what was written.
Unlike in the novel, where some people were dissatisfied with Treyton acting as representative, it seemed that the other team leaders here were more obedient.
