Chapter 354: A woman, pacing at the entrance of the village, withdrew again. (1)

“Wonderful. These two sets are wonderful. May I ask which designer they came from? If we can secure them, we only need to make very little modifications before we start working on samples.” Allen raved about the two sets of designs.

“I am glad you think they are nice. Look at the name on the bottom. Do you recognize them?” asked Hu Ruixue nonchalantly.

“Xia Ruo?” Allen frowned a little. “No, I have never heard this name before.”

Did he somehow miss a genius designer? That didn’t make any sense. Ever since Yanxue had recruited him to be the head of Designs, he looked for talents all over the place. Of course there would be geniuses that he had missed but if the design drafts had somehow ended up with Boss Shu and Boss Hu, that meant this person was somewhat famed. Could it be someone from overseas?”

Hu Ruixue’s face dropped. “I am not going to talk about the incident from this morning. Most of the responsibilities lie with me. That was the reason that I did not blame anyone else for it. Nevertheless, as the head of Designs, it is your job to discover the talents who work under you. I had just called Human Resource, Xia Ruo had been with us for three months and is still has become a permanent hire. Why is that?”

“She’s an intern of ours?” Allen looked at Hu Ruixue, shocked. Seeing that Shu Yan, too, was nodding, he turned pale.

“There are three teams below us with 6 people in each team. One team lead, three full-time permanent hires, and 2 interns. I don’t have any excuse for myself. I will admit that I did not pay enough attention to the interns.”

It wasn’t a big deal. As the head of the department, all he needed to do was to manage those who were one level below him as well as the permanent hires. Who would have thought that they would have such a talented intern and, worse, this said intern had issues with her team lead and had been receiving pushbacks from her team lead?

One way or another, a mistake was a mistake. Hu Ruixue deducted Allen’s bonus for the quarter.

“Thank you, Boss Hu. Thank you, Boss Shu. It was definitely an oversight on my part. I will have her become a permanent hire immediately.” Allen looked at the design drafts again. They were very talented. If she could keep this up, she very well might become a grandmaster.

“That won’t be necessary. I have already spoken with Human Resource. We will make Xia Ruo the team lead directly. As for the original team lead in Xia Ruo’s team, she can go and collect her final check from Human Resource,” said Shu Yan nonchalantly.

Xia Ruo, who was still waiting for words, could not sit still. She took a look at the time and it was already lunch hour. She probably wouldn’t hear anything back till this afternoon then. She went to lunch with another intern and, shortly after she returned to her desk, she saw Lin Shanshan walked over slowly.

“HR said to have you go over when you are back from lunch.”

“What……what does that mean?” It wasn’t easy to get a job these days. She was only able to get into Yanxue because her teacher put in a recommendation for her. Was she fired just like that?

“What do you think it means? You don’t even have one design draft after being here for three months. The management probably thinks that you are a lazy person. Doesn’t it make sense to fire you?” said Lin Shanshan in a condescending way as she lifted her chin.

That baffled Xia Ruo even more. She had just talked to Boss Shu this morning and had given her all of her drafts. Why would she be fired for not having any?

She went over to Human Resources nervously but everyone there congratulated her with smiles.

Congratulations? Congratulated her for being fired? That made no sense. That meant she was going to become a permanent hire then? Xia Rua tried her best to calm herself and walked inside of the office of the Head of HR.
