Wilhelm just barely backed off, saving his hand from being ripped clean off. In turn, he sent the same attack toward me. Yet, because I now knew how it worked, I was able to very easily counter it by just spiraling the thin thread in reverse.

He realized what I was doing, and his eyes widened. It was almost like he had never thought of doing so, and when I launched yet another attack at him, he copied exactly what I did, equalizing the fight once more.

"So no more Telekinesis, huh?" I mused.

Wilhelm sighed. "Apparently not."

"What about Quantum Telekinesis? Can you show me that too?"

I would love to steal that too.

"Sadly, my proficiency hasn’t reached a suitable level for me to use Quantum Telekinesis. I doubt I’ll need to use it to begin with." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

The moment he finished his words, darkness blanketed the surroundings. Only the ocean below us remained colorful, and I knew for a fact he had just used Darkness Manipulation to summon a Darkness Domain.

It increased his senses by a bit, and he could obviously feel my energy much more clearly. That was why Darkness Manipulation was so overpowered, since it had so many abilities that provided insight into your opponents.

But the caveat was that when it came to offense, it was just slightly stronger than Shadow Manipulation.

Though... as I saw a pair of white eyes manifest in the darkness, I knew that he had also called out his Guardian. It didn’t attack me right away; instead, it continued to observe me.

As for Wilhelm, he reached into his dimensional ring and pulled out a bow before pulling back the string and nocking an energy-filled arrow. He released the arrow, and as it flew through the air and approached me, I decided to just break it in two with Black Lightning Manipulation.

But instead, the arrow’s durability seemed much too high for my Black Lightning. In fact, even as I struck it with a full-on blast of thunder, the arrow didn’t even budge. Not to mention, the arrow was homing in on me.

What a weird bow... Or was it that Guardian that was responsible for this?

Once I had that thought, I suddenly spotted a pair of white teeth appear in the darkness. Just then, the arrow that was heading for me split into thousands of different arrows, each one containing the same amount of energy as the first.

I stepped back in surprise. For a moment, I thought that this was just some kind of illusion, but my Mystic Eyes knew better. It was definitely not an illusion.

But... I wasn’t completely helpless, as my newest Mystic Eye managed to lock onto the new arrows and immediately absorb all of their energy straight into my eye.

With only one arrow left, I decided to just tank it by taking a step forward, snatching it out of thin air, and then dismantling it with Atomic Destabilization.

It was a neat ability of both the bow and the Guardian. An enhancement-type Guardian wasn’t that rare. If anything, it was considered common. But when combined perfectly with the right Gift, even a weak Guardian could shine through.

But... if I didn’t do anything now, it’ll continue being a stalemate. How can I actually defeat Wilhelm? I couldn’t...

Was it my arrogance talking? I knew that all I needed to do was stall him, but why am I feeling so shitty...? It’s almost like I have him in my grasp, but I’m being forced to let him slip away.

No...

I’m not letting him live.

With a single burst of Black Lightning, I suddenly reappeared behind Wilhelm. He seemed to be expecting me, as he had already drawn back his bow and prepared to shoot.

Before he could, I used Spatial Telekinesis to try and rip his neck off, which in turn made him react and pause for a moment.

That pause was all that I needed, as I focused a beam of black lightning into my fist and then struck him across the face.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

My fist stung, and I felt like several bones shattered. Wilhelm hurtled through his domain, only stopping once his Guardian reached out from the darkness and snatched him into the darkness itself.

I was expecting more of a fight here before he ran away, but that didn’t mean I wasn’t waiting for this exact moment.

Darkness Domains were powerful, but the core of their power and durability was around the spot where the caster was standing. In Wilhelm’s case, he had a nearly impenetrable Domain because he could create a funnel between himself and his Guardian.

But now that the funnel was gone, I simply summoned a spear of black lightning and tossed it into the opposite end of the Domain. I saw the Guardian travel through the darkness at a ridiculous speed, yet it couldn’t stop my spear from piercing through the domain, causing it to fizzle out.

The Guardian’s form was finally revealed, and it was surprisingly a simple black cat, which vanished once it realized it was exposed.

As for Wilhelm, he just stood there. He seemed impressed by my powers, almost like a mentor who had seen every step of his student’s progress.

Something was off about this whole situation... I realized that much from the moment he began targeting only my arms and legs with his Spatial Telekinesis instead of my actual vitals.

So why was he staring at me like that...?

"Does this suffice?" he suddenly called out to seemingly no one.

Then, to my shock, his Guardian reappeared. At first, it seemed like an innocent black cat, but with every passing moment, its figure began to shift and enlarge until, eventually, it resembled a very familiar person...

It was Ren, but a slightly blurrier version of him, almost like he wasn’t actually here.

"Yep. I’ve seen all that I needed. Good job holding on," he said.

What’s happening?

"What about the others?" Wilhelm asked, turning over to Aliyah, who had already finished dismantling the other Demon Kings, and Clementine, who was beginning to mold that Demon King into a perfect Soul Soldier.

Ren stared at them for a brief moment, then let out a chuckle.

"Since Kai already gave me most of the details, they’re no use to us. Kill the Sword Saint and the Siren Queen."

"By that... I mean I am personally promoting you to the rank of Demon Emperor."
