Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 254: The Meeting In Helheim [ 18 ]
I glanced at the document, and while masking my faint tremors, I reached for it and opened it.
In an instant, I was met with the names of five people, all of whom I couldn’t recognize. However, beside their names was their estimated strength, and all of them were at least Grade 60.
Obviously, these people popped up out of seclusion after the Demon Descent happened. It’s just that, seeing the information in front of me, I was shocked.
All of these people listed were once known criminals. Some were pirates, while others used to work in the Holy Order until defecting due to some personal reasons. One was even exiled from the order.
And the one thing they had in common was the fact that they relied on strength more than their brains. They invaded some towns that hadn’t fallen to demons and massacred everyone in them. All that for some food, clothes, and obviously pleasure.
They were only actually caught once they attacked a town belonging to demons.
"How big’s the group?"
"Big enough for their crimes to be shared," Ren replied.
"..."
"So you expect me to go massacre them with the other saviors? Is this some show of force?"
Ren smiled. "Of course it is. There have been rumors spreading all throughout the Demon Realm of five saviors who have enough power to topple a continent singlehandedly. No one has ever actually seen the five of you in action, and now’s the perfect time to showcase your power by eliminating a group of powerful humans, which, if converted, would be a real threat to us demons." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"That’s the core of this meeting. And their strength hasn’t been completely confirmed. All you need to know is that Grade 60 is their weakest. For all we know, the five of you will be going up against someone who’s as strong as a Demon King."
He narrowed his eyes at me. "Unless you believe your ’cause’ and ’morals’ don’t allow you to team up with demons to kill horrible humans?"
I just stared at him for a brief moment, until finally letting out a sigh.
Honestly, I didn’t have much issue killing trash like this, since it gave me more time to be one of the demons without being hunted by them. But I was also very skeptical of the information here, since the odds of this being fake were really high.
Despite that, I didn’t let it show, and instead...
"When’s the raid?"
"Couple days. I’ll let you all know soon. Also~ You’re free to bring along anyone you want, so long as they’re strong enough. By that, I mean you can take your lover with you, as I’ve seen that she’s plenty powerful," Ren replied.
I scoffed. "You want me to take her along just so she could get captured by the Evangelists?"
He shrugged at my words and then brushed his hair back. "If it makes you feel any better, from the moment all the demons descended, she has never stopped being hunted. It’s just that the Evangelists were never able to find her, but as it so happens, there was word that she’s currently in the Heirloom Kingdom."
Right as I was about to reply, he said:
"This is not a threat, but more so a warning. I’m just saying that if you two are together, you stand a better chance of fighting off the Evangelists, rather than being apart."
"...I’ll keep that in mind."
’Morr, head over to the Heirloom Kingdom now and watch over Clementine. I know she has that artifact from the Catacombs, but I don’t trust it enough.’
I waited for a few moments, until finally, Morr responded.
[Understood.]
I exhaled a slightly relieved breath, then leaned back.
"So what now?" I asked.
Ren smiled. "Nothing much, I was just thinking of how proud I am to see all five of you here. The hard work of nearly half a century... Ah, how I wish there were more of you."
He looked over us again.
"It’s sad I didn’t prepare anything else today... But then again, this meeting wasn’t supposed to be very long. It’s just one person in particular who made the meeting that much more worthwhile."
He was obviously referring to me.
"But I suppose to commemorate, we should all take a picture, shouldn’t we?"
Just then, the door swung open as a butler stepped inside. He was carrying a food tray, and once he arrived by the table, he took off the lid, revealing a camera. I wasn’t sure what it was called, but judging by how it looked, I doubted that it could capture color.
Despite that, a camera was still a camera.
"Xavier, take the photo for us, yes?"
Xavier nodded and picked up the camera.
As for everyone else, we slowly stood up and approached the wall that had the least ornaments. The saviors stood in the very front, and off to the left were the retainers. As for Ren, he stood on the far right.
It honestly reminded me of those old school photos that some evil people used to take back in my world. Odds were, after we wipe out all the humans in that raid, they’re going to spread that picture around and call us some kind of villains.
But on the flip side, at least I’ll have a cool group picture to stash on the wall... Right?
"Smile for the camera~"
CLICK!
The photo was quickly taken, and as the picture quickly printed itself onto the clear parchment, it eventually fell out and landed on the ground.
"Thanks for that, Xavier. Make sure to take a day off tomorrow," Ren said.
Xavier simply bowed, and then left the room with the camera. As for the picture on the floor, Ren went ahead and picked it up. He stared at it for a few seconds, then smiled widely.
"It’s perfect. I’ll make sure to create a copy for everyone here. With that, you’re all dismissed. The retainers, please escort the saviors back to where they came from."
The retainers nodded, and as for the saviors themselves, they already walked in the groups they had chosen. For one, Kai and Lana seemed to be hitting it off quite well as the two chatted with one another and even laughed heartily.
"The size of your personality is as warm as your breasts."
"It’s the other way around, but I appreciate the sentiment."
By comparison, Liam’s and Sylas’s group was the polar opposite. In fact, they didn’t speak a single word as they left the meeting room.
Once all the saviors and retainers were gone, only Ren, Wilhelm, and I were left.
And of course, since I had accepted Ren’s offer partially...
"Let’s take a walk, shall we, Amon?"
